One thing I really like is that this is the only gym I've been to where my car has never been vandalized. At other gyms in Vallejo I've had my windows smashed, but never here. I'm not sure if it's because of the location or because the security guards are always walking the parking lot, but it definitely gives me peace of mind. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, the gym is clean, and they've been doing a lot of renovations lately. The equipment is well maintained, and the machines are rarely out of order. My only complaint is that the main weight room is a little small and can get crowded during peak hours. Other than that, it's a great gym, and I'd definitely recommend it.

I was informed they were on back order but something as simple as an adjustable bench for the size of an in shape club shouldn't be on back order for months on end. Browns valley closed the freeweight room for 2 weeks for upgrades and when re-open they had 3 more adjustable benches. I'm assuming they get their equipment from the same manufacture. With that being said I do think the gym is decent but having only 2 adjustable for a gym that size with that many members is borderline ridiculous. It's been an ongoing problem for many months probably a year now and the simple "on back order" excuse doesn't seem like a real reason for a gym to not have one of the most important pieces of equipment readily available for its members

The monthly membership fee for both my son and I is $100 per month for 5 different gyms. Out of the 5 in the area, this is our main location. It's right off the freeway, easily accessible and I always have a positive experience when coming here. Pro's are: super friendly and responsive staff at front desk and at the kids club. In fact my son LOVES coming here so much that even on the days I don't feel like working out, he convinces me to come to so he can go to the kids club. The women's locker room and restrooms are very clean and always functioning. When I come here all the cardio equipment is functioning and there are an abundance of machines to choose from. Even on high traffic days I can always find a machine to use. I've seen some of the weight machines needing repairs but not for extended periods of time. Classes look fun but I'm just not there yet in my fitness journey! Lol. Soon tho... My secret indulgence and my favorite part of coming to this gym are the massage chairs though! After a workout I love to decompress in their amazing massage chairs.... They can recline to a certain angle where your legs are elevated and you feel like you're floating in space while you zone out to the massage. I love to drown out the noise with a good classical playlist, slip on my aromatherapy eye pillow and let the stress melt away for half an hour. You do have to reserve the chair in advance through the app, but that's no biggie. Money well spent!

There are a good amount of cardio machines and strength training equipment to use. They also have a pool, sauna, and steam room at this location. Unfortunately, the area of this location has considerably gone down hill over the years. There were a few times that I visited with people who were homeless, mentally ill, and/or substance users posted at the front of the gym. One time, one woman sitting on the ground yelling and cursing at all of the patrons entering or leaving the gym. I also recall that the locker room wasn't as clean and well-maintained as some of the other In-Shape locations I've been at.

I don't see where it's too much to ask that people keep their private parts entirely covered. Below is scientifically a photo that clearly defines the human body part we call the buttocks or your bottom. Little kids know what it is; they know their parents don't wear swimsuits like that; they know they can't show that part of their bottom so why is Active Wellness Center allowing swim coaches to wear high cut sportswear exposing the lower of their bottoms? Morally and aesthetically it's a no-brainer. Not to mention the fact that for all of our recorded American history the mental health handbook for its duration until very recently states that it is considered to be "Exhibitionism"; redefining it doesn't make it right. It's biologically still part of your private parts and needs to be kept private.

It irritates me when people leave their things near a machine and say they are using it but proceed to walk away and get annoyed when I ask if they are using it. Same with the teens they come in groups and stay on one machine just talking and never using it, I've forced myself to stay at the gym cause it's close by but it's time to switch. I'm tired of spending most the time just waiting for the machines to become available. Same with the cleaning, the staff isn't the problem it's the gym members, I walk into the bathroom to find hairs all over the sink and floor, these people don't know how to clean up after themselves same with the toilets they leave pee all over the place and sometimes I see the toilets clogged, people need to have more respect for the gym. I also see people in the locker room in the way with their bags on the counters just standing there taking pictures of themselves or videos. I understand taking pictures for ur progress but it shouldn't have to take that long and you shouldn't be taking up all the space other people need. I always see the janitor cleaning and making the gym looking super good but then here go the people ruining both the janitors hard work. I think this gym needs stricter rules. ( I wish everyone who goes here remembers is a gym and a place to workout, not a place to stand around talking to people and taking up the machines just to not use them)
