Minutes ago, as has happened multiple times in the past one of the employees here at In Shape asks if he "can drop all his powder chemicals in the spa" with guests inside it. When asked what chemicals they are he says something to the extent of "no clue". So we have employees caring for these pools and spas that have absolutely no clue as to what their job is. Every time, rather than arguing and saying "no, I'd like to enjoy the spa, so why don't you put in the chemicals at another time" what everyone does is we all get out. What kind of a service is this? This is total nonsense. Ridiculous. Solution: Put in the spa those UNKNOWN CHEMICALS when the spa is empty of human beings. Solution 2: And learn what the chemicals are. Solution 3: Why not put them in right before opening or very close to closing time, but at 17:00 or 18:00? Or just wait for when there is nobody inside the spa. Certainly there are moments during the day when the Spa is sitting empty of people. For gods sake! And I know this is not the first time In-Shape has had these issues as a few of the other guys said they even wrote corporate about this same issue. Any change? Nope! Sad! read more

Once again, the pool heater is broken! I have very bad asthma, and and I need to swim in an outdoor pool! And it seems as though the heater breaks every winter, they refuse to cover the pool, and my favorite form of exercise exercises, inaccessible. read more

Worst gym in the bay but the members are what make it awesome. The gym is constantly filthy, today I walk in and saw an employee wearing head sets, like really what If somebody gets hurt? Could he hear it? Isn't he on the clock? Speaking of employees, why is the gym so filthy and there's usually 4-6 staff members there not doing a thing but acting busy and the gym is small. The cardio equipment is not calibrated, specifically the treadmills, you got some at an incline and it's at 0% and you have some that don't incline until you put it at 2.0% this is a pretty high traffic gym and the upkeep needs to be done consistently. The male bathroom is disgusting, I don't know what else to say, there should be a bathroom cleaning every hour on the hour by a staff member because the pool people come back from the pool and there's just puddles everywhere and it stinks. I know you guys will say there's other gyms, no this is not what I want, I want this gym to succeed and just to better. The gym is literally falling apart and it's just sad to see. read more

This is consistent issue regarding pool temperature. Talk to Dough last week. Water temperature is very cold and they don't cover the pool. His answer is it is perfectly fine. According to him but not according to members. Very frustrating. It is unacceptable everyday water is very cold. I don't know why management doesn't compromise and make members feel better. read more

I came to this location from Fairfield Dover and their sauna has been broken. I did not know that coming here was an upgrade, but the staff was very kind and let me stay anyway. I will be upgrading! I love how quiet it is, the fireplace; the spa inside the locker room ... it's just such a better experience than Dover and Elmira. read more

The Aqua Fit class is still without an instructor for Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.We have been repeatedly been told they're "working on it." The outdoor hot tub is the "tepid tub" or cold. The inside hot tub jets don't work. These issues are not a "one off," they are continual. I realize that some of the issues with this club are corporate and not entirely the fault of the club, but some pressure needs to be applied. How can I recommend this club when there is such an issue of finding an instructor for a long standing class. Just taking to class of the calendar is not a solution. Now the good news. Your staff is polite. I would like to especially like to say that Fritz at the front desk is very helpful. She spent a long time getting my sister in law's membership on track. She's gracious and helped with a smile. read more

I have been going to this gym because the Dover location- their outdoor pool was closed due to renovation or repair (I tried calling them- no answer). This place is a bit farther than Dover, but this is a very nice gym. However, the situation today was too traumatic. This afternoon, I arrived and found no one was at the front desk to check me in (2 ladies were working in another room, seems like they were having a meeting?) so I went my way to the men's locker room and went to the restroom and went out in the back where I normally do when I'm heading to the outdoor pool. I arrived at the pool at around 1:45pm, the middle lane was vacant while other lanes were occupied by lap swimmers. I decided to do my laps in the middle lane. Up until at around 2:15p, there was an older guy who jumped into the lane where I doing my laps. He told me to move to a different lane. I told him that we could share lanes. Then I went on my way doing the laps. When I returned to the shadow side (4ft), this guy blocked me and told me to move to a different lane. Very hostile and blocked me from doing the laps. He even touched me and I shouted at him to stop several times. He swam to the deep end and exited- he went to the staff about this situation. I continued to do my laps. Then 2 workers came to the shadow end and told me that he had the reservation. I did NOT know we were required to make a reservation. I thought this was only for the COVID-19 pandemic. I told them that I was Deaf and had no idea this was required, and they did not give me the option but to let the older guy win. The lady worker kept talking- I'm not interested in reading lips! So I got out of the pool and got dressed- as I was packing my stuff into my bag, I was extremely angry and disappointed! When I was heading to the gate, I saw the workers following me (in other people's eyes- the workers were escorting me out of the gym), so I decided to walk to the men's locker room. I stopped at the hot spa area, typing something to show the worker in front how I felt about today's situation. This male worker (who was with this lady worker at the pool) stopped and tried to talk to me. Ew! Why would he follow me to the locker room trying to mend this situation? I civilly left the pool area, and I felt that I was treated like a bad guy. They could have walked directly to the front and waited or if they couldn't, they could have radioed someone at the front to stop me to resolve the situation right there, but they didn't and chose to chase me like they were escorting me out. I sat in my car and called the front desk to talk to the supervisor, but they refused because they were in a meeting. WOW! Great customer service! (rolling my eyes). 2 hours later, I was able to talk to the supervisor- and explain my situation, and she offered for me to come down and sit down to show me how to make a reservation through the app- no way Jose! A male worker followed me to the locker room- creepy! I plan on reaching out to the corporation and explaining the situation. You don't chase members when they have the option to stay or leave this place! I didn't do anything wrong and I chose to leave this place angry but in a civil manner, why is this male worker chasing me to the locker room?! So sick! read more

Must be the most expensive gym in the area. The cardio and weight areas are nothing special but the pool is nice and the reason for joining. But now the pool will be closed for over 2 months for maintenance. After paying a fee to join, high monthly fees plus an annual fee we now can't use the only reason for joining. At the very least they should waive their fee for putting the membership on hold until this is fixed. Or offer half off during the time they can't offer what we are paying for. Thinking about canceling or switching to the dover location which is cheaper. Also the website says there's an indoor pool which is not true. read more

Came in for a tour of this beautiful facility was greeted by "B" with warm welcome. She gave me a tour. Staff member " CJ " greeted me with that million dollar smile and assisted me with how to use equipment safely. He was very patient and kind. Once again, In Shape Rancho Solano annoys it's members by mandating and collecting a $5 surcharge for Saturday group exercise in addition to charging the highest monthly dues in the region. I have my own charities which i generously support and do not appreciate being forced in to supporting theirs as a fee for entrance to my regular morning class. Epic fail. Will not contribute again, and believe this unnoticed surcharge is likely unenforceable. read more

This gym is my favorite but has a big room for improvement. Bathrooms were closed over two months in the summer time but only one wall of tiles has been remodeled?! What a joke! Women's bathrooms steam room, sauna and jacuzzi are often closed or not working. Yoga studio upstairs never opened. Why? Classes are mainly for old people, seniors, yoga restore, chair yoga, etc. do not offer much. Tennis classes, boot camp, Pickleball tournaments, personal trainers would be great! Some equipment would use an upgrade. Outdoor pool is nice and clean but in order to reserve a line for swimming, the membership must be upgraded, thus more money on top of already super overpriced membership. For a "Double Diamond " should be all locations and reservations system INCLUDED! The staff is mostly friendly. read more

Beautiful pool, but too many breakdowns. Only three functioning showers, locker room carpet looks gross. The men's locker room got new showers and amenities, the ladies got nothing, but could not use the locker room for over two months! read more

The headquarters know that they are changing whole price but only provide partial services now. Women' s sauna both broken for almost two months. It is local for me otherwise I would not join it for sure! read more

I like the location of the gym and generally the staff is nice. However, the gym failed to maintain the pool. The last time I visited, there was trash on the deep end ( band aids, etc....) and the water was cloudy. After few days from my last visit. I got sick, and I was was diagnosed with Ecoli, in shape is the culprit as no one else in my household got sick, and I was the only one who visited this pool. read more

I never understand why this club is a 'double Diamon' club and charges $149.99 per month! It is very small with old facilities, all tennis/pickle ball courts (they use tennis court for pickle ball players as well) have big cracks which affect plays but has never been fixed, the swimming pool had no heat for long time, and no one really cared. Yes, this club charges high price for a community college quality of a gym, as someone said earlier. I have to quit after a year's membership, even though it is the most convenient one to us since we live in this community. It doesn't deserve the level of 'double diamond', for sure! read more

I'm giving an update to my review. It's a split. I would give 5 stars to the staff of Rancho Solano. There appears to be a bunch of new hires yet they are all courteous and professional. I would give a one to corporate because they aren't giving the answers to the staff to answer or making sure problems are addressed at the club. In-Shape has been open full-time for a while now. Yet not all services have been brought back, like towel service. It seems to be a shifting target when asked of the staff. My fees haven't gone down though. Also, there's some equipment that could use updating or repaired. For example, the leg extension machine (there's only one) has been out of commission for at least 5 months now. Also, some of the cables on other machines could use some maintenance. When inquired, I'm told by the staff they need permission from corporate to get machines fixed. For one of the most expensive memberships in the In-Shape system, the conditions of some of the machines don't reflect it. read more

I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Rancho Solano In-Shape. They are all very pleasant and welcoming whenever you arrive, and always willing to help and assist with any questions or concerns. I give them all 5 stars. The corporate In-Shape is another story, and they don't deserve a 5 star rating. We all pay high prices to belong to this club, however nothing is ever upgraded or fixed. The women's handicap bathroom was out of service for a good 6 months and finally was recently fixed. The pool has an enormous crack in it, and keeps getting worse. The staff keeps things as clean as they are able considering how old and outdated things have gotten. Someone from the corporate office should make a trip out to see what needs to be fixed and upgraded, and then use some of our high dues to fix the problems. In-Shape is very fortunate to have such good employees at Rancho Solano or many members would have already left. read more

This is a double diamond club. I love the location and how posh the club itself acts is s. I come to the club to get some exercise and this gym dies not disappoint. Try it you will love it. But. Beware this club is situated in an area that is prone to rattle snakes. There are signs around the club to watch for them. So be very careful. read more

Beautiful setting and friendly front desk staff, but... During our membership of over a year, we noted: Tired locker rooms and facilities. Repeated pool and spa breakdowns. Indifference to security issues. Overall, we felt it was not worth the extreme monthly cost (almost $140.00 per month for one person - seriously). We decided to give it a try, but it is unclear what this facility has that makes it a "Double Diamond" In-Shape property, and what makes it worth that cost. There are much better values for your money to be had for workout facilities in the Fairfield-Vacaville area. And, probably, friendlier management as well. read more

It has been closed for almost four months and Jude reopened recently. Spa is not open with a sign saying "closed Do not enter". I wish they can hire someone to clean this place daily like Dover in shape . I hope they will improve their maintenance ! read more

I've joined a membership like 2-3 months ago and oh my goodness...why are the memberships prices so high for a community college quality of a gym? Let's start with the stair master. The second one has been out of order ever since I've started. I asked the front desk why and they had no idea but were giving me their assumptions. No worries because I know that's above their pay grade, but they did tell me that they would check-in with their manager. No updates. Next, let's shift over to the weight room. The gym in my community college looked identical and that's not a good thing. The floors look extremely old and uneven. The weights are extremely outdated. I mean holy moly I'm paying a good penny for this? No wonder many people are willing to drive over the bridge to get decent quality gym facilities or they are creating their own gyms at home. The only positive thing I can say are the group instructors I've come across. They are extremely nice and helpful. This gym truly doesn't deserve them. Gems in this dumpster fire. read more

In-Shape Rancho Solano is single handily my "go to" fitness club to escape plebeian society. I am simply just speaking the truth. If you need to get away from Joe Blow slamming weights unnecessarily , Carol mugging you down in Zumba, or Steve just coming all up in your bubble-this is where you go. If you "can't" with all of them-then this is where you go to escape all of that. Additionally, the locker room facilities are ALWAYS in a neat and orderly state, as they should be. I will say that the actual gym equipment itself is a bit dated and could use an update. I'm not saying it's broken, but the equipment is certainly dated. Not at all a big deal though because just a short walk to the back of the property and your invited to a resort like style outdoor pool facility. There are Cabanas aplenty, two Spa's, and plenty of outdoor seating. Tennis courts are in very decent shape and there are also several courts available to play on. The staff here are ALL VERY COURTEOUS, PROFESSIONAL, POLITE, & HELPFUL. The staff here is a major part as to why this club is up to par. There are a few other clubs that just fall very short of simple things such as a clean locker room. read more

I decided to check this gym out by getting a free 7 day pass. I was called almost right away by the Manager Annika to check to see when I was coming and if I needed directions. I went right over and got the tour of the facility (which was pretty neat!). I loved the country club feel but felt the cardio area was a bit cramped. I continued to use the facilities for the remaining days (pool, cardio, sauna, indoor hot tub, etc) and really enjoyed my time at InShape. It was never too busy and there was always a free machine! The staff was very friendly and pleasant. The only reason I did not join is because of the monthly dues. It was $150/mo for one person, $200/mo for a couple; with a military/law enforcement discount it was $119/mo for one person or $169/mo for a couple. A bit too expensive for me right now with the new house but I really enjoyed my 7 day pass. read more

As a member of In-Shape Rancho Solano for the past year, I have experienced many areas of this gym. The facility is pretty awesome. The grounds are beautiful and there is a feeling of luxury at this club specifically that makes it stands out above other locations. The personal training is AMAZING! I have been training with Pam for about 10 months and seen major changes in my appearance. Pam is FANTASTIC! She comes up with creative ways to specifically meet my personal training goals. The staff at the club is superb! Everyone is extremely friendly and very attentive. The Kids Club staff especially goes above and beyond expectations. my 2-year old daughter has LOVED visiting the club. Tennis at the location is also awesome. The courts are outdoors, and there is a beautiful view of the hills. There are plenty of member to pick up games with as well as many tennis leagues and sections to choose from. The gym classes are also top notch. My favorite is yoga with Pat on Monday nights and Zumba/UJam with Lauren which is offered several times a week during the day and evening. They also have a pool, a sauna, a hot tub outside and another one in the locker room. This gym has everything I could ever want in a gym. I just love it!! We are sad to be moving out of the area as I cannot imagine finding a gym that is this awesome anywhere else. read more

I am a new member to InShape Rancho Solano I originally joined for the family catered atmosphere. They have not disappointed; my little girl is being looked after in the morning by Mrs. B the sweetest caregiver I've ever met at a gym facility and my oldest who is only 4 has already joined in on a day of spring break sports camp and had a fun filled day thanks to Sarah the director of the program as well as the tennis pro at Rancho. I along with 3 friends tried out a free tennis lesson; She was so patient and positive as my friends and I stumbled through our first day of tennis. She even lent me a racquet she assessed for my style of swing to try out before I go purchase my own. Rancho has a great family program. What I did not expect to find at Rancho is a personal trainer yet I have found Angela. Angela is the fitness manager at Rancho and has been awesome at giving me exercises that are challenging yet not aggravating to my torn shoulder. I had physical therapy for the injury but had not found solid workouts that challenged me without feeling pain. I told Angela this the first day I met her and she has been great at catering my workouts for my injury so that I can regain strength but at the same time not reinjure. She has been a great addition to my recovery for which I've been struggling with for half a year. She has been a pleasant surprise to my membership. read more

Absolutely love this Gym! The people that work there are so accommodating and helpful, they really just want you to have the best fitness results possible. I love the kids area for my kids, I always feel comfortable dropping them, especially with with Mrs. B. The facility is worn down but the location is beautiful, nestled in the hills at Rancho Solano. The members and many of the staff feel like an extended family, however... ... this has been a racquet club ever since it opened in the '80s and InShape has tried to turn it into a fitness facility. Nothing really fits well - the gym area feels like a bunch of equipment stuffed in hallways. Ironically, the tennis part of the facility is largely ignored by InShape. The upper courts are cracked, the side-nets are so worn, balls just roll through to the next court, they aren't tied down and blow in the wind. The drinking fountains are often broken, and lights are out many days of the week. We had to wait 30 minutes for water cups to be brought to center court because the employee at the front desk claimed they were understaffed right after hanging up the phone with a potential customer explaining why they charge so much more than other clubs as a diamond club and all the extra services they offer. If I can't even get a drink during the match because they can't keep the supplies stocked, what the heck am I paying for? This club feels like the red-headed stepchild of the InShape complex. The Browns Valley club is beautiful, has much better facilities and at my membership level, costs $100 less per month! read more

This gym is by far one of the best gyms I've been too. It's like walking into a nice resort. The locker rooms and bathrooms are similar to a few spas I've been too! Very clean and makes you feel very comfortable. They have a few tennis court and everything from spacious classrooms for yoga, zumba, Pilates classes etc. stretching room, cardio room, weight room and much more. Their pool is huge and had many cabanas and a separate pool for the kids. It even has a playground right beside in case your kids don't want to swim with you! On top of that their kids club offer 2 hour babysitting for 2 hours twice a day! They have a upstairs lounge and downstairs one as well! What more can I say. Worth every penny! We pay $200 as a couple a month and would rather do that then pay $35 at a regular gym! This gym has so much to offer. Definitely will be the only In-Shape I'll go too. read more

This In-Shape at Rancho Solano has some of the worst staff I have ever encountered. There are a ton of Karen's working here especially one named Angela or Angie as she gave me her nickname when I asked for her name to make a report. Angela accused me of sneaking in and jumping the fence to get in the club, I have a membership with In-Shape and do not need to "jump" the fence as I can just walk through the front door as I always have. She came outside and started yelling at me telling me I need to leave and that I never signed, she started telling me that her janitor seen me jump over and if I don't leave she will handle it another way and told me she's calling the cops. She did not apologize or even acknowledge that she was wrong and went throughout her day. The next day I came in I asked for her name and the corporates number so I can talk to her manager and she instantly wrote a report a day after since she got scared and wanted to make it seem like she reported it first. The manager seemed to not care and said she will "talk" with her since she got into another altercation a few days back but no action was brought to her attention a she just walks around the gym everywhere I go and acts like she owns the place basically throwing it in my face that the manager did nothing since they both look out for each other. This was discrimination at it's finest! The Janitor apologized which is why I didn't bring him up in this but Angela did not even look at me and just kept ignoring me and making a stank ass face. I will be making a report to corporate on Angela because this was discrimination like no other. Someone at the gym and outside at the parking lot even asked why she was yelling at me. read more

She's very knowledgeable and takes in consideration past injuries when designing my workout. Facility is clean and not crowded making it easy to access the machines that I want to use. read more
