I first went to Stuart Benjamin jewelers when I had just gotten engaged. The ring was way to big and needed to be sized down. They are right near my work and I decided to go there. They could tell how excited I was to wear the ring, and how hard it would be to part with it for a few days. So they promised to get the engagement ring back to me by the end of the day! From then on I have gone to NO ONE ELSE for anything jewelery related. They work with me on most of my weird requests like turning antique pins that I have found into pendants so I can actually wear them! Jeff and Stuart are both very friendly, but not in a pushy way at all. I had purchased my ring at a local metalsmith that they do business with and they were nice enough to polish and clean them for me when she was out of town. They even sent me on my way with a kit to clean my ring in the future. They have that small intimate jeweler feel but have the ability to get you exactly what you are looking for through industry connections and a custom design service. I came in the store today to have a nugget ring appraised. I don't wear jewelry a lot and had been given a ring by my grandmother when I graduated high school 25 years ago. It's a sentimental piece and want to make sure this is insured. The store is very nicely located near me and the appraisal was done in no time. Read about Stuart Benjamin & Co. on Yelp so I decided to give them a try because I had two rings that needed attention. These rings are very precious to me since one was my mother's that I inherited. They sized the ring to fit me and the second needed to have two re-cut fire opals repaired. Christine was so professional and so helpful that I went ahead and left my wedding ring and engagement ring to also have the tips and prongs repaired because as she pointed out it was maybe 6 months away from losing the diamond. I am so glad that I went there instead of somewhere else. They were so customer service oriented it felt like I had been taking my jewelry there for years and they were so reasonable in their price. They know their business and they are not pretentious or pushy. They answer your questions patiently and are very positive in their interactions with clients. Stuart made my 50th wedding anniversary ring perfectly to fit my existing wedding set 8 months ago. It was beautiful. Then after my husband picked it up, Stuart called to ask me how I liked it. What jeweler would follow up to see if a customer was satisfied. Then 8 months later (yesterday on Valentines Day) my engagement ring broke and took the diamond with it. Luckily, I found it and took it straight to Stuart's. He assured me he could make a replica of it and we added another ring to the set like my anniversary ring. We would not go anywhere else. I recently got engaged and needed my ring to be appraised for insurance purposes. There are only a few places in the entire city that have certified stone appraisers. I called to everyone and they gave me a time estimate of a week or longer (which seems absurd). I called S.B. & Co and they said it would be best to get an appointment so I made one for the next day. Christine Edlund at Stuart Benjamin was so sweet and helpful, she appraised it in only an hour! I had my ring back to me so quickly, appraisal done, and she even cleaned it for me! This place really is awesome. I bough my boyfriend's gold chain online and didn't realize it would be so easily breakable (it's hollow). I have brought it here twice before and both times, Stuart did a wonderful job, but it keeps breaking because the chain is REALLY thin and delicate. His prices are fair compared to others, but with the quality of customer service he gives, I would say they are a smokin' deal. Highly recommend. Stuart himself is a great guy. I have done business with these folks on several occasions and it has been a pleasure every time. Initially, my wife and I purchased wedding bands here. They have a great selection (even though they have a small store) and they took their time helping us find what we wanted -- not pushing us to the most expensive pieces as happened in a competitor's store. More recently, they repaired my wife's watch. The charge was very reasonable; and even though I asked if it needed polishing, they said that was not necessary. I highly recommend this jewelry store! The people were so welcoming, attentive but not pushy like some other places I have been. Also, given their amazing selection of jewelry , they were not stuck up, or protecting their merchandise as if someone were to rob them (which I have had happen in many experiences prior). My ring had a diamond missing and some diamonds cracked.... received a quote from Zales (after 5 days) since they had to send it out. Fast forward didn't have a good experience with Zales so I looked around and found this store, they gave me a quote on the spot and had my ring repaired quick. When I went to pick up my ring, I had a little hesitation about one of the stones, Stuart didn't let me leave the store without making sure I was 101% happy with my ring! I needed my wedding diamond reset and was very anxious about picking out a new setting. My husband and I chose Stuart Benjamin because of the Yelp reviews. Jeff patiently listened to all of our concerns and ideas we had for my new setting and explained all of the choices that were available. Jeff showed us several different settings and we picked elements from a few different designs. Jeff then put all the ideas together and sent us a custom rendering of the new design. After a few adjustments and a ton of questions, that Jeff answered patienty and in a timely manner, we had a final custom design. We were still nervous about the final decision so we went to the store and spent over an hour with Jeff asking more questions and his opinion on the final design. After we left the store that day we felt excited and anxious to see the new setting. We recently pick up the new ring and it is absolutely gorgeous. We love everything about it and it exceeded our expectations with quality, design and sparkle. I have received several compliments from strangers. My family and friends that knew how nervous I was said it is "perfectly me". I don't wear a lot of jewelry and my wedding diamond (35 years) is my pride and joy. My wedding rings were a little tight and needed to be re-sized after 20 years. The original purchase was in '95 from the old Benjamin's store off the highway. They are 3 separate rings with baguettes set in a difficult-to-work-with setting. The other store is now closed and I couldn't find anyone to work on my rings because of the design. It was so nice to discover that Stuart Benjamin is related to the old store and they are very adept at working on more technical pieces. They did an AMAZING job sizing and polishing the rings!
