I love Amico Salon and am so happy to have finally found it after years of attempting other salons in the South Bay. I can't say enough good things about Priscilla specifically! Well I got exactly what I wanted!! I had super long hair and wanted a very blunt cut, super simple, 6" trim without all the layers that are in right now and I got it, which is a little miracle in and of itself, and I love it! It is so fun to have something different for me. I have had layers for years and years and this is a playful switch when you have super long hair that makes it look thick and healthy. I brought in my dog who has recently gone blind and she had anxiety and was overheated on this hot day, and it was stressful for me too and they were able to handle it, despite being busy, so it was pretty good all around. It's a small salon and perfunctory rather than super luxurious, but the cuts other people were getting were also looking good, so I recommend. read more

I probably should have called the same day, but I used to on line appointments, and did not think about it twice. When I got there, he was not in the salon, and in fact, according to the staff, not in town. The girl who spoke to me was nice and apologetic. Everyone at Amico Salon seemed very friendly. The salon is clean but a little small. The front desk staff was kind and professional. We were early to our appointment and given water while we waited. Had an appointment with Andrea for my kid's cut which came out terrible. We showed her multiple photo inspiration but Andrea cut my daughter's hair however she wanted. Instead of a short, trendy cut, my daughter ended up looking like Monica Geller from FRIENDS when she got an at-home hair cut on the show. I'm not sure what they use to keep the small smelling nice but at times, the smell was overwhelming and made me cough or sneeze. It's like the smell goes off at a timer. I'm not sure but the salon smelled great so I was surprised I was getting overwhelmed by it. Overall, would we come back? Maybe, maybe not. read more

I've been to this salon multiple times and I like all the stylists, but I started noticing a lot of misogyny toward them from the owner and behavior I don't really feel is appropriate. One example - when I was getting my hair blown out, the owner was passing around a bottle of tequila and telling all the stylists to take shots (while many of them were holding scissors and in the midst of cutting hair). This was in the middle of the day - nowhere near the time the salon closes ! Also, I've heard him make rude remarks to his female employees and crack jokes about their appearance, and they clearly look uncomfortable but don't push back. My last straw...I had signed up for their monthly blowout membership last year, but when I wanted to cancel it, the owner got visibly upset and asked me why. When I began to tell him, other customers walked in the salon and he got all flustered and told me very sternly, "I don't have time to deal with you right now" and that his receptionist would call me later. His receptionist was sitting right there though watching all this unfold. The fact that the two of them couldn't resolve a simple ask I had in that moment was absurd. Of course, I never got a call back and was still charged the following month. I won't be coming back. The owner is extremely unprofessional and shouldn't be managing people. read more
