She is absolutely outstanding at what she does. She cuts my 3 year old daughters hair and it looks stunning every single time. She just gave me bangs this morning and I am obsessed! Studio 9 Salon rocks!! These guys came out to our sites with the coolest mobile salon and an awesome team of stylist. They were on time (more than I can say for some of our wedding party), professional, fun, creative and quick. They got 13 ladies in and out in about 4 hours. They also feeds us and give us mimosas. They bride was gorgeous and the rest of us did look half bad either. They airbrushed our makeup and it stayed all day. Can't wait to see the professional pictures! I love this salon! It's been hard finding a great place to fit my schedule and Studio 9 has done that. I have always been hesitant to go to new salons but from the minute I walked in, I felt at ease. Everyone was very kind and happy. My stylist, Brittany, was so nice and knowledgeable. She even gave me some great advice on keeping my platinum blonde hair healthy and recommended some products I can't imagine going a day without now. I am so happy with my new salon choice and even happier with my stylist. I look forward to my appointments with Brittany and looking forward to checking out more services at the salon that she has recommended. I requested an appointment on May 27 for a double process for my daughter on Studio 9's website as I've done for hair cuts in the past. Emails were sent back and forth until we had a date-June 15. My daughter and I arrive. The hairdresser asks my daughter how she wants her hair cut. I tell her we are there for a double process color. She looks at me like I'm crazy. I show her the emails and she goes to the front to work it out for us. Fast forward to my daughter sitting in the chair with bleach on her hair and the owner approaches me and verbally abuses me saying she would have cancelled the appointment. Telling me she didn't like the way I treated her "girls". I asked her what she was talking about. I was nothing but polite with the hairdresser and the front desk staff. I even was concerned with any clients after our appointment that might be inconvenienced. The owner was very rude and flippant. Hair color done, there are spots that missed the color. I'm told that color is hard to achieve. I understand, but how do you miss a whole chunk of BLONDE hair when you're coloring it RED?!? And they charged $190 for pixie length hair! No one here wants to take accountability for any error on their part. Guess it's time to find a smaller salon that may actually care about their clientele! read more

What started out being a nice Christmas gift for my daughter turned into an absolute nightmare. I Purchased a gift certificate for my daughter to get her hair done. It needed a lot of work as far as stripping layers of color and re-dying, so we knew we were in for a costly visit. I dropped her off on Mon Jan 9th for her service and was babysitting for her. I was in constant contact because I would be picking her up and also because I was aware that it most likely cost more that her GC. [150] So from the beginning my daughter was texting me telling me that her stylist was confusing her- that she was saying that it could be 4 hours or longer but maybe not that long. That it could be 65$ an hour or up to 250$ changing her cost throughout the duration. She may need a cut, maybe not. I was telling my daughter, don't worry, I will pay the extra and just relax. She finally was finished and was happy to report that she loved her hair. [ which by the way the dye bled the hairline TERRIBLY] I went to pick her up and she ran out to get my card for any additional charge and tip. [By the way, she had to get cash out of the ATM because they do not allow tip on the card, which I had to pay an additional fee for] She came back to the car and as we are driving away she said "Oh good news! The cost was 125.00 so I still have 25 left on my GC and I grabbed 20 cash for the tip. I was surprised but pleased to hear that it was that price. We went on with our night and a couple hours later my daughter got a call from the receptionist saying that she owes 170.00. There was a mistake and she owes ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY dollars. I heard her explain that no, she had paid 125.00 ..what she was charged and tipped 20.00 so she had paid. The girl then said something about a mixup so I got on to the phone and asked her to explain. Kristen then explained that there was a lady with the same service who she mixed my daughter up with. [If it's the same service WHY is there a change in cost then?] After a little back and forth, I explained that she paid what she was charged and that it that. She admitted she made the mistake and would talk to the manager about waiving any additional charge. [She ultimately said that an additional 45$ was owed] So I gave her my number and asked for her to have the manager to call me during the next day to confirm that we were straightened out. The next day, the salon staff called my daughter, [not me as requested] and not only accused her of blocking the salons number [which was false because when she saw they called, she called right back] and also THREATENED that if she did not come pay the money owed that they are going to file a POLICE report for THEFT of services. I was at work during this interaction and my daughter texted me. I was ready to call the salon after work and have it out with the manager or even the owner. Thankfully, by the time I got off work, They had emailed her saying the mistake was theirs and the 'fee' was waived. A sparse apology. What a shame. This was the first time for my daughter here, I WAS going to start going here and one of my family members goes here. I could have been a nice new loyal customer with 2 daughters that could have been as well. What a shame this is the way you treat your clients. You make the mistake then call us thieves. I write this review not in hopes you close down but in hopes you change the way you run your business. Good luck. 3 less clients. read more

I recently moved to Michigan and have been searching for somewhere to get my hair cut, nobody seemed to be able to get it right. I went to Studio 9 once in October and again in December, the salon is very nice and the service was great but the haircut was just "ok" with two different stylists. Well last week I decided to give it one last chance and made an appointment with Lynn. I am so glad that I did! I have never had anyone so attentive to my wants or needs, she paid attention to what I wanted, gave me advice on how I could improve my style AND explained what she was doing throughout the service. When I say explained I really mean it, she taught me how to style my hair at home to achieve the same look, from how much of each product to use, to how it would affect my hair. She gave me tips, tricks and suggestions and answered every question that I had. This was overall the best experience I have ever had at a salon and it was thanks to Lynn. I am only giving 4 stars to the salon because of the previous visits. Like I said, they weren't bad stylists but, they definitely weren't LYNN! PS You can pay with a credit card but cannot add gratuity, which is a bit of a pain. They do have an ATM in the salon but it sucks to pay a fee to tip your stylist so bring cash! read more

I had my hair done here a couple weeks ago and had a great experience. The staff were professional and friendly. My stylist was Frankie and I was beyond pleased with the service she provided. She cut and colored my hair exactly how I wanted it done and the final product exceeded my expectations! She explained everything she was doing and asked me for clarification on things to make sure we were both on the same page. I had been going for approximately 2 years for my Brazilian. Bonnie has always been a talker and never rushed. Many times an appointment would run longer than at other places I had been. The problem is, she finally talked too much. She was getting so carried away gabbing that she wasn't paying attention and had to revisit a few areas again with wax. Not a big deal you may think but I ended up with extremely tender areas in an already tender region of a woman's anatomy. I stated it hurt and she kept saying "Just a little bit more and you will be all cleaned up." At that point I would have left with the way it was. Almost two week later I had an appointment with my OB and he inquired if I had gotten the wounds (his words) recently. When I stated it had almost been two weeks ago he said I was lucky it wasn't worse. I assured him I had no plans of returning to the place that caused it which he was happy to hear and ended up giving me a prescription for a topical ointment to aid the healing process and help with the tenderness I was still experiencing. Granted this place has extended hours but they treat it like an assembly line and the prices are a bit steep considering the "not quite professional/extremely lax" attitude of the staff. I urge you, please reconsider before giving your money to Studio 9. I assure you it would be better spent elsewhere. read more

Recently went for simple blow dry with some bounce and wave, even showed a photo of desired look... hair was totally flat , no curl and the back looked horrible. I had to go home and redo my hair. I was overcharged for the service I recieved . I also recieved another service at the same time and was equally disappointed. I will never go there again, nor would I ever recommend them. read more

I was referred here by my sister when I moved to the area. A survey was sent to me via email asking what I was looking for before my first visit so they could match me with the right person. I always get my hair done blonde and it always comes out fantastic! The only reason I cant give 5 stars is because I absolutely HATE the fact that tips have to be cash. You can use the ATM in their lobby and be charged of course. Super inconvenient to have to stop at the bank before your hair appt. I wish they would just add the tip onto the debit payment like EVERYWHERE ELSE in the world. read more

Tired of getting poor haircuts there. Have tried 3 stylists. How hard is a long bob? Apparently, hard. The first 2 didn't blend the front and back well, or at all. This time, when I said I wanted more off the back, she told me it wouldn't look good and it would be hard to straighten. I clearly wasn't happy but agreed to give it a try because it became clear she wasn't going to do it...even though she told me she would take more off the back if she needed to after she blew it dry. I felt rushed, again. Right now it looks like a short haircut with long layers that I could have gotten at BoRicks. I suspect the real reason she wouldn't fix it is that they only allow for 45 min appointments, so there is no time to revise much. I'm done trying. Where is the manager? Never seen her in the salon. They could use someone higher up walking around to see if your happy. Not worth the $ read more

I really like the new building, the stylist that I went to knew how to cut my hair really well given my cowlicks and curly hair. She gave me the exact style I wanted and was great with color. I went here after having a horrible experience at another salon. I had Ania do my nails, she was friendly and did a great job. On my way out I spoke to who I think was the owner and the girls at the front desk, they were all so nice. I look forward to going back. My daughter had her hair cut and colored, but was not happy. I called the next day and was back within the hour to have them fix it. Everyone there is so nice and professional. The shop was clean and well maintained. Brooklyn was the stylist that took care of my daughter the second time. We moved here from a different state and my 16 yr old daughter looked high and low for a great colorist since she's been getting her hair colored for a couple years now. She chose Lauren out of all the stylists and she is really nice. The only issue was that she left a bunch of hair at that hairline (without color, just white from the bleach). so when she pulls her hair back you see a bunch of white hair at the hairline which is very evident next to the purple that the rest of her hair was colored. how do you miss that much hair when coloring? it's not as though she was coloring her hair blonde and missed the bleached pieces. for $130 plus a tip I would think that the color would be done much more professionally. Now she has to start school with hair this way because Lauren is booked up several weeks out. read more

Mae washed, cut and blow dried my hair this morning. I can honestly say it has been years since I was as happy with my hair in the chair as I was in the car and still when I got home to play with it. She took time to get an idea of what I wanted, and I'm so happy with the result. I will NOT be coming back here. This was my 2nd visit, and I was not wanting a haircut this time, only partial highlights, and I explained to the stylist MULTIPLE times why I was not getting a haircut. She would then try to convince me why she was going to give me a haircut anyway. Which is creepy enough, but when I was finally almost done with being in her chair, she literally grabs her scissors and comes at my head, telling me it's only for a "dusting." I had to leap out of the chair to get away from her! Then she takes me to the front, and the receptionist starts ringing me up, and the stylist tells her, "No, don't charge that THIS way, charge it THAT way." I am very certain that she wasn't giving me a discount, since she charged me $150 for just partial highlights. Just insane. read more

If you are looking for a waxing, PLEASE come here and book with Bonnie. I am always a bit nervous going to get that done. She is the best and so nice, and reassuring. She does a great job. First, let me say that the personnel at Studio 9 Salon were very nice and friendly and the atmosphere is good. I offer this review as constructive criticism and hope that it is received that way. I received a gift certificate and having never been here, decided to give it a try. When I made my first appointment, I asked for a hair stylist who was experienced and creative. The woman who cut my hair was very young and didn't appear confident with the scissors. Sadly, I was unhappy with the cut and it took three weeks of growth for me to be able to style my hair the way it was meant to be. Next, I made an appointment for a facial. The woman was friendly but when I go for a massage or facial, I like to go into my own peaceful mental zone. I didn't want to be rude so I let her talk about her life and ask questions about mine. What made me even more unsatisfied was that there was way too much "towel" time on my face. I realize that the warm towels have a function but really....4 to 5 times at 1 to 5 minutes each? That minimized the time that should have been spent massaging my face and, by the way, my neck and shoulders weren't touched. I am not a novice when it comes to massages and facials and I'm sorry to say, this one was very low on my ratings list. read more

Hair stylist was great, Veronica was her name. But, owners act pretenous and uppity, and could care less you are spending mad cash here. Seems like the facility is getting run down and the stylist do not seem to be quality anymore, many appear that they should be at Borics instead. The tanning is never busy and nail area appears to have slowed down. I feel dirty when i leave here now. Time to look for a new salon or hope the stylist I had moves to a new place. read more
