Stopped by studio Café in the morning after seeing they had gluten-free pastries. Right after the bat it's in a super cute location. They have a great outdoor area as well as being able to sit indoors. Service is friendly. I had a cappuccino and a gluten-free chocolate chip muffin. this is definitely an artisan coffee shop cappuccino was great gluten-free muffin was decent for being gluten-free. It was a little bit dry, but the copious amounts of chocolate chips made up for that. My partner got an iced latte and a plain bagel with cream cheese. Latte was a little bit milky for his tasting bagel was average. Overall good experience would definitely come back. The ambience is very cute and quiet.

Was so excited to try this place and I wish I could give it a higher review but... unfortunately this latte didn't taste good at all. Was way too milky and didn't taste anything like pumpkin. But the barista was nice and had good customer service. And the ambiance was beautiful and so peaceful outside. Just wish the latte was better.

Really cute find on the way to walking to the Monterey aquarium, just up the street two mins walking

I'm sitting next to a grand piano sipping a matcha while jazz music plays. A trio of strangers discuss the pros of wearing Hokas. I feel like I'm in Cafe Roosters in Animal Crossing. Very quaint vibes. The fact that they serve gluten free pastries is a huge plus as there aren't many places in my area that offer GF options. After you get your drinks, there's a table with milks and creamers and syrups where you can customize however you like. This tickled my ADHD brain as I played mad scientist with my matcha latte. Safe to say I have fallen in love with this place. It's a respite from all the overstimulation from the Veterans Day weekend crowd at the Aquarium.

We stopped in around noon as a much more affordable alternative to grabbing coffee inside the aquarium. A quick tip for anyone visiting: make sure to go straight to the lower level! I followed the map directions up the street to the higher level and wasted some time, so learn from my mistake. Once there, everything was great. We ordered a lavender iced coffee and an iced tea, and both were solid with no complaints at all. They also have a bunch of fun tabletop games available, which was a perfect way to relax and pass the time. I would definitely stop by again

Lovely outdoor space complete with chess, plenty of sun / shade depending on your desires, and the entrance to the cafe.

Super pretty outdoor space, great espresso from local ACME Roasters, awesome pour overs, and very friendly and accommodating staff. It's connected to a lovely music venue AND about 15 steps from the InterContinental Hotel. Incredibly convenient if you're staying at the hotel, the coffee is FAR better than the hotel's stuff and about half the price. Lovely walking path right out front as well.

This is such a great, friendly coffee shop with a warm and welcoming vibe. The staff are kind and make you feel right at home, and the coffee is smooth and delicious. I especially loved the gluten-free strawberry muffin--it was moist, flavorful, and packed with fresh strawberry taste.

Drip coffee only. If you're looking for espresso this isn't the place. With that said, their cold brew is okay and the dark roast is decent. Very cute and quaint space to read and work. They provide you with fixings to add to your order, oat milk, half n half, cows milk, sweeteners but you add it yourself. Server was nice and patient enough to deal with a first timer who had no clue what I stumbled upon. I'm more of an espresso gal so this wasn't the place for me but if drip is your jam then stop by!

Slow service, unremarkable coffee, and the added injury of having loud live schlocky piano music starting up moments after my first sip.

It's a calming place to eat breakfast and chill for a minute. The food was also spectacular. The Norwegian Salmon Benedict hit the spot. The Hollandaise stood out in the best of ways. The potatos with a little hot sauce made the perfecting pairing, too. My wife enjoyed her simple-but-scrumptious combo breakfast plate and we walked away full and at peace. I only knock this down to four stars due to the steep prices on the menu and bitterness of the coffee. It needed immense amounts of milk and sugar to be edible and I'm not much of a black coffee snob; I usually drink most anything. Still highly recommend if you're visiting and can splurge on vacation!

We…read morerolled in with a crew of 25 hungry folks, and let me tell you, we made quite the entrance. I wish I'd taken more pictures, but I was too busy trying to keep my eyes off the delicious food that was about to land on our table. Now, let's talk about the wait for our food--it felt like watching paint dry, but in the best way possible. Seriously, our stomachs were growling louder than a rock concert! But if the long wait had a soundtrack, it was the sound of our group "Dugging" (yes, you read that right!). Everyone was so excited that we could have been mistaken for a bunch of starving lions ready to pounce on a buffet. And when the food finally arrived? Oh boy, it was like the heavens opened up and dropped down a feast fit for royalty! High-fives all around! The flavors were so good, I almost forgot my name. The cioppino Flawless. The steak A masterpiece. I think I even saw some of my friends weeping tears of joy between bites. In conclusion, if you're in Monterey and want to experience a meal that will leave your taste buds dancing, head over to Lala Grill. Just be prepared to wait a bit--because good things come to those who wait, and trust me, this is worth every second. Bravo, Lala Grill! You've earned yourself a standing ovation!

We met Raul at the counter. He is by far the most friendly, kind and informed restaurant staff (about gluten sensitivity, gluten allergy and what it is to have Celiac) we've ever met. He explained how he prepares the gluten free dough separate, bakes it separate and plates it separate. Based on Raul's genuine concern and knowledge, my hubby decided to try it. Our family had various different sandwiches. (I had the very delicious Vegetariano.) We all agreed they were THE BEST SANDWICHES WE'VE EVER HAD...EVER...ANYWHERE...(mike drop). The freshly baked bread was incredible, all of the ingredients were fresh, even the side salad was amazing!!! The service was straight out of the old days, when people actually had pride in their work and genuinely cared about how you were treated in their establishment. We wish every restaurant that offers gluten free options could have someone as friendly, kind and knowledgeable as Raul. The ambiance was very cute/quaint inside and out. It was a beautiful sunny day so we sat outside to enjoy the sunshine and listen to the sea lions. Raul came out to check on us and we could not thank him enough for his amazing food and hospitality. When we said how much we enjoyed the gluten free bread, he told us he sold the flour (from Italy) inside. My adult son immediately bought some for us to bake gluten-free bread at home.
