Maher was phenomenal!! Make sure you call in advanced and make an appointment. He is busy! I was lucky enough to call about 30 minutes in advance and he managed to squeeze me in. Maher is extremely personable. He remembers your name, makes conversation, and asks you if you'd like a drink. If you ask for his advice, he will give you his expert opinion!! This is the first time I've gone to a hairdresser that actually looks at what is the best for your face shape, skin color... everything. He will tell you what he thinks will suit you. I wanted to chop all my hair off and I've never done that before, so I researched extensively on an experienced hair dresser that would be able to work with my idea. Studio La V seemed to have great reviews. I didn't want to replicate any picture exactly, but rather I wanted to takes bits and pieces of certain hairstyles and combine them. Maher did an excellent job of listening to me, while also repeated back exactly what I wished for. Maher let me take home my thick ponytail that he chopped off! He washed & conditioned my hair. I checked in on Yelp for my free collagen treatment, which nourishes your hair. Then he cut! He was very meticulous but quick. He ensured that the end result was exactly what you'd hoped for. I'm planning on returning again for highlights/balayage soon!! Maher is amazing, he seems to be an expert in everything that had to do with hair, and he offered some great advice on hair care, good highlight colors, styling, etc. This experience was fun, too! I was looking forward to saving myself a drive to the salon I've been going to even tho studio la v was more expensive. With this Covid thing, I've been avoiding the mall which is where I usually go to get my hair done. This place was super close to my place and had great reviews so I took a chance and Woah!!! I've never had a haircut so perfect, and the Balayage colors were exactly what I was looking for but could never get someone to pull it off. It's also been a few weeks since my haircut, and I have yet to find a mistake!!! So the haircut was perfect BUT the ambiance was even better! The detail with the feel of the place was sooo relaxing. Since I was referred to the salon and I cut my hair my hair has improved so much, he's growing a lot and very healthy. His salon is easy to get to, and Maher is an expert colorist that creates the haircut and blow dry styles that are right for you. Maher is literally the best hair stylist in Houston area. I have been living here for 4.5 years and was so desperate to finally find a good hair stylist. I put henna on my hair 7-8 months ago which I was hopeful to make my hair healthier but made it even worse as it made my previous colors go orangish red and dry. So I went to Maher for a haircut and brown lights and I told him about the henna thing. So he first did a strand test to know in what condition my hair is and then explained to me what is best for my hair at this stage, in terms of haircut and color based on my skin tone. He is so professional! I've got very good and professional haircuts and dyes back home before I come to Houston and this was the first time I was so happy in all these years of living here, after leaving a hair salon.
