Studio Movie Grill (SMG) in Duluth is a fantastic spot for both movie lovers and foodies alike. SMG has revolutionized the movie-going experience by offering an in-theater dining experience with a full menu and drink options, making it more than just a place to watch movies. Founded in 2000, Studio Movie Grill has grown into a popular chain, with locations across the country. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They're known for their relaxed, yet upscale, vibe, allowing guests to enjoy a movie while indulging in a meal and drinks delivered straight to their seats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Duluth location is a great example of their high-quality service and comfortable atmosphere. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The reclining seats are perfect for kicking back while you enjoy the movie, and the food selection is impressive--ranging from burgers to salads, plus delicious snacks and desserts.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also offer great deals, including discounted tickets during the week, making it an affordable option for a night out. I've had a great experience here each time, and I'll definitely be back! Whether you're watching the latest blockbuster or an indie flick, Studio Movie Grill is a solid choice for a fun night out. This SMG location has gotten much better. More security, more servers, more managers. I can definitely tell that they're under new management or just wanted to make some changes. Things are much better and I personally appreciate it. Better food options as well.

I got here early yesterday and I didn't have an issue waiting, I understand it can take time to clean a theater that also has food in it. So the 20 mins before rule didn't bother me. What did bother me was the fact that it took over 20 minutes to give me a water with lemon. That should take seconds. There's no reason why my food should be coming out before my drink. Not to mention, I came at 6:15 on a THURSDAY. There weren't many people in the theater at all, so it just seems like the service here is slow overall and people aren't paying attention. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was also disappointed to find that the buttons don't work on majority of the seats. If you're going to serve food, the ONLY way to contact a server should be working at every seat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Having to get out of my seat and walk down to a button that works is unpleasant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This SMG has been here for years, it's BEEN time for a renovation or make over, there aren't even reclining seats & you're charging people more than 12 bucks for a movie... insane to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is silly. Maybe they need to transition to ordering online. The only highlight here was the Ballpark Chicken Nachos, I really enjoyed them. I got the Meat Eater Pizza trying to be safe and unfortunately it tasted sort of rubbery and fake. The meat didn't even have flavor really. I was very disappointed. I really used to like SMG's food, I used to work there as a teenager , so it's sad to watch it go down hill in this way. Idk if i'll be back after that experience.

I'm not sure if the workers are all teenagers or what, but they sure all act like it. They were very disruptive. I genuinely thought they were patrons; I even heard one cussing. That's unprofessional. I could understand that behavior from amc but from smg? This place is supposed to be a nicer location, and as of late it's not. I wouldn't spend my money here, another thing: the service fee. I have no problem paying for it, I always tip. We ordered drinks, we had to reminds the worker three times and even then she didn't bring our drinks. Three times is ridiculous. Especially considering it wasn't busy. We reminded her each time she came to check up on us. Another weird thing is they took a random dance break ? They were dancing to the movie ? That's really weird , instead of getting our drinks that were due over 15 minutes she's dancing ? That is definitely not 18% tip quality. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The movie went along smoothly, and the place was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food tasted good.

Studio Movie Grill gets a 0/5 star rating in my book. Let me explain - When you purchase tickets, a QR code is included in the confirmation (simple, right?) Not so, I'm afraid. You must then go manually print your tickets with no customer service. It gets worse folks. The restroom ... dark to the point where you sit in someone's piss left on the seat. Then, the soap is out in 2/3 dispensers. So yeah. Did I mention the entire theatre is in semi darkness and smells like stale BO, overcooked food and spilled alcohol? The most important part: theatre. The seats are easily the most uncomfortable I've ever sat in (and do not recline). The attached tables are coated in residual food grime and the seats' leather coverings are cracked to hell. Anyway, I strongly advise you to pick a different theatre. The higher price is worth it. P.S. not safe to leave your belongings in your car (even if covered). This is NOT a safe area.

They had a full bar, ample space for mingling, they could literally just add some music and it'll be a mini-bar scene that I bet would go quite well.

I had gotten here around 4:30PM and went to the pool table, I had been waiting close to 15-20 minutes to be served. I just went to the bartender with a slicked back bun and wearing a burgundy shirt named "T" to ask for a drink since my friend had gotten there before me and said she had taken his order prior to me getting there. After waiting about 3 minutes at the bar, she approached me and rudely asked if I had been sitting by the pool tables. I replied and said "yes I'm sitting near the pool tables" and she responded rudely again and said she couldn't take my order and the server sitting in my section would take it. I had told her "okay, well I have been sitting here for a while waiting to be served and I wanted to order a drink" and she responded and said "well we didn't see you over there, go back to your table and I'll get your server" The server named Dom, took my order and I asked him for her name since he either saw/heard what happened. Bless his heart for trying to rectify the situation by bringing the food out quickly and being more pleasant. What makes the story worse, is that this bartender (after she yelled at me) went back to the pool tables where we were sitting to take away plates for another table she had already served and they were sitting one table over from us. So she served them (males) and my friend (another male) and felt like she refused to help or serve me. Overall, I would come back but definitely steering clear of that rude bartender that was very sarcastic and had a nasty attitude. Definitely go there on weekend nights when different bartenders are working and aren't as rude.

Caveat: This was a Door Dash order. So my main complaints (lobster roll and bun were cold, fries…read morewere soggy) are likely related to the time it took for delivery. I really wish I had gotten to eat it fresh. But my other criticisms are valid! - Connecticut lobster roll: The bun was soft and buttered to perfection. The lobster was a generous portion and very fresh. My only complaint is that it was cold, but that's what I get for doing a Door Dash order with a long predicted delivery time. The fries (which were not crisp, likely due to the delivery time) had zero seasoning. I would have expected Old Bay seasoning or at least salt. My delivery order didn't come with any ketchup either. - Lobster bisque: Interestingly, Door Dash had a promotion for BOGO lobster bisque. But the lobster meat was scant (it was just a big bowl of cream essentially), so I actually threw away the second bowl and didn't finish the first bowl. All in all, I was glad to have tried the food here. I definitely recommend ordering the lobster roll (ask for condiments for the fries!), but don't waste money on the lobster bisque unless they change the recipe (aka actually add lobster meat).

Tonight I had the MISFORTUNE of spending money, time, and gas for THE MOST unprofessional fast food…read moreservice ever in my life. In this age of going viral, the opportunity almost presented itself. I went into the Whataburger at 1695 Pleasant Hill Rd, Duluth. Yeah, first mistake, I know. The instructions on a mobile order states to go Into the store, to the counter, and let them know I have an order to pick up. While waiting and observing a well-kept and seemingly clean restaurant, there was no one at the counter, but a loud and boisterous voice was barking from the cooking area. The conversation was coming from a person who sounds new to management because what was being said wasn't for customers to hear. Then I heard "the voice" talking to an employee about getting clocked in at the front counter. Finally, this will be my chance to let someone know I was waiting patiently. That thought didn't age well. When I initiated conversation, I was abruptly told "let me get him clocked in THEN I will be right with you!" WTF?! I then heard her chastise an employee for leaving for the evening without letting anyone know they were leaving. Again, a conversation not for the public. I'll call the manager "Catherine B. Lewis", only because when I tried to get her name, she turned away to keep me from reading it. I bet you can guess why the initial "B" comes to mind for a middle name. The first young man she walked to the front initially, showed concern for my patience and offered me a drink. I hesitated because I wasn't there too long, but hey, he offered. A minute later, I heard "B" say "see if this order is for anyone out there!" Um, that would be me. ‍ When the young man she had chastised came out with the food, he did just as she asked and gave me my order. However, she didn't remind him I had two drinks. How could she? She didn't read the complete order herself. I know, because when I pointed out I was to have two drinks, her defenses went up? But why? A simple oversight, I felt. Not with this one though. Instead of acknowledging the common mistake on her part, she says "two drinks? You got one already!" I told her the employee offered me a drink while I waited. She then accused me of "stealing it" because it was supposed to be water, instead of the orange drink I selected. And I would know this why? Then she threatened to not give me cups for my PAID FOR drinks because I "stole one" already. What ensued was my desire to act on my intrusive thoughts and launch the gifted free orange soda against the wall. But I thought better, and chose not meet ignorance with a misdemeanor. So I used my words instead, after I showed my frustration by snatching one of the cups for my paid for drinks from her hand. Then she went on to become more insulting. With that said, I began to inform her of what I felt the "B" stood for. She then let me know that she and my deceased mother were twinning in that regard. Of course, since I had my food, and my free drink, I was playing with house money and let her know what other adjectives my deceased mother taught me, as I hurled everyone I could muster at her. Who knew I would be recording the last time I EVER go to a Whataburger, while encouraging others to avoid this poorly represented franchise location. Yet, here we are.
