Our family recently went to Cici's for our son's 13th birthday. We were immediately met with a bright smile from Kat, the hostess. She was so friendly and bright and made the best first impression. This was our first visit to this particular location. My husband told the ladies preparing the pizza that it was our son's 13th birthday and we were here to try a particular pizza (the CaseOh pizza~mac and cheese) and they made a fresh one for us. Kat got word that it was his bday and brought over a brownie with a candle in it and a pizza plushie. It was a really sweet gesture that we appreciated. We had a great experience at this location. The food was very bad. The salad bar had old lettuce mix. The cucumbers were soggy and soft. The rest of the salad bar was fine. There was almost nothing left in the pasta salad mix. There was a ton of sauce and no noodles no soup. The pizza was very old as well. We waited until they put a new round of pizza and pasta in the buffet, but it wasn't much better. We found out after we paid that the chicken wings were sold separately from the buffet. It was around $39 for an adult +2 teenagers which isn't bad but we were hoping the food was a lot better since we were coming from out of town and we don't have this pizza where we're from. Cici's pizza gets a loving three stars from me. Listen, the food is not great. The spinach pizza is inexplicably bitter, the pasta is like glue, the chicken tastes cheap. But I still love it and I keep coming back. The all-you-can-eat runs at about $9 I think, which is a pretty solid deal. What Cici's does really, really well is the dessert pizza. I don't know what they're putting on that custardy danish-y pizza, but I wish I could buy like three of those individually. The apple pizza is also better than it has any business being. I stopped by here to order a pizza for pickup and saw a decent crowd sitting inside for the buffet. I ordered a giant pizza with Alfredo sauce and chicken and the cheesy garlic bread. I got my order about 10min later and was surprised by the amount of chicken included on the pizza for only $13! The Alfredo sauce and cheese were light too which I really liked. The cheesy garlic bread was quite tasty too and glad that they didn't overdo it with too much cheese or other spices. Everything is just like I remember from at least 10 years ago. Haven't been to one in a minute and this really brought me down memory lane. The food hasn't changed and it still looks like it's stuck in the 80's. Makes me happy. The greeter was very sweet. Only things I'd complain about would be the cleanliness and the music. I only ate here because of a coupon I got in the mail. Salad bar was nothing phenomenal, all the dressing containers were empty. Pizza selection was weak and the dough was like wet paper. My family and I walked in and were promptly greeted by a young man behind the counter. He was very polite. It's nice to see people actually (or seem to) enjoy their work. As my family sat there and ate, I was watching the staff work. One gentleman who looked like the manager possibly was walking around and making sure the chairs were straight. Usually I go to the Cici's on Mansell, but since this was is closer... we decided to come here for a change... yeah... we most likely will ever come back will be on a weekday in the middle of the week before 6pm... It's smaller than the Mansell location. Some of the workers didn't seem so friendly. The Mansell location workers are so happy and friendly. About 15 minutes into eating, they ended up running outta pizza!! granted it was 7pm on a Saturday night. But still though, they should have been prepared for the large crowds.... with extra pizzas made. They legit ran out of food and when they did put out about 4 different pizzas, they were gone in 5 minutes.... I kinda felt like I wasted my money. I paid for myself and my bf and if I was gonna come outta pocket $17 it wouldn't have been for 4 little slices of pizza... I woulda drove the 30 minutes to the Mansell location. I did see what looked like a manager visually upset that it was a restaurant full of people with no pizzas made. The table behind me was vocally upset and started ordering personal pizzas so that they and their kids could eat. I felt bad for many patrons that tonight... Some co workers and I decided to give it a try after work earlier this week and all I will say is we won't return. Don't listen to complainers, this place is awesome! I love their pizza and their brownies are amazing and the to go is the quickest carry out in town. Mom and I always come here before going to see a movie at the Regal theater on Medlock Bridge. Also, the music is spot on cuz they played the Friends theme song (I'll be there for you), which is my favorite TV show.
