I've been coming here since the salon opened a few years ago and have always been taken care of here. I always get my gel acrylics and love the pricing, especially for the quality work. Just like other recent reviews I didn't have much luck at this place. After being referred by family I wanted to check this place out as I'm new to the area. First time experience was not the best but again, my family member said it was a fluke and to try again. Went back to get gel and a pedicure.. was talked into something more which was fine except my total experience was a little over 2 hours most of it waiting. I did get slightly injured (nail came off on the side with acrylic removal but it was a mistake and I was ready to let it go.. this was within the 1st 30 min). Also my pedicure was not done right and now I have painful ingrown nails about 1 week later. I saw 3 regulars come and go while I was there and they were treated promptly and were happy. Makes me figure that once you are an established client you get much better treatment than someone new. I did say something there about the timeframe- they did try to explain so it isn't that I wasn't offered any explanation at all. They also offered for me to come back later that day to have it fixed? The problem is I was already there for 2 hours and was already over the timeframe for the person watching my baby (late charges). I was offered a discount of acrylic removal only. I have my engagement photos this weekend and not only is my RING finger nail completely screwed up, phil jabbed me with the drill and blamed it on me. I have been going here for about a year now. Their prices were always very reasonable and the nails looked amazing. However, the last couple times I have gone have been absolutely terrible. My big toe has been infected for two months from a pedicure from them and recently when I had gone to get my acrylic nails removed I was waiting for over an hour because they had "forgotten about me". Today, I wanted to get a new set of acrylics and had gone in to be greeted by Phil, mind you, the same man who left me waiting, who said he would be doing them. He rushed my nails, would leave periodically and stopped multiple times to go on his phone. I normally would not mind waiting if the finished product is good but I can not begin to say how disappointed I am. He charged me thirty dollars for crooked, short, red nails when I wanted orange. This place is hit or miss and I'm never going back. read more

I have been to many nail salons in and around the area, I came here after a recommendation from my boyfriends mother and I am happy I went here. They are awesome, super friendly, very professional. Tim does an amazing job with shaping my long dagger nails, which is not easy. Tim is the primary reason I come here because he is super laid back and never complains about my nails. I've been coming since last November and prior to that.. it has been over 10 years since I had anything done. I was always skeptical of nail salons especially the smell (felt like I'm gonna die from the fumes), cleanliness, and the professionalism of the nail specialists. I yelped and decided to try out Studio Nails, I walked in and was pleasantly surprised with the nice white medical looking coats they all had on, NO SMELL! and the cleanliness of the place. Long story short I have been going ever since, every 2-3 weeks. Helen is my favorite of all, such a sweet lady knowing exactly how I like my nails esp because I have small hands and a smaller nail bed so it is hard to work with. I have now grown to know Helen, Phil, and Syndey who knows my voice over the phone haha. I am really sad that now I have to find another place, if possible, similar to Studio Nails as I'm moving to Chicago in a few days. Don't hesitate to try out Studio Nails. A hidden gem! I found Studio Nails by the positive Yelp reviews. It has been all that and more! They all do a good job. Phil, Helen and David all do the best stiletto nails I've ever had. I've never broken a nail or had one lift. They are very long and super strong. Prices are good. Natalie and Sydney both do perfect pedicures with great massage. Very very disappointed in this place. I came here super excited to try this place since it was rated five stars and it's right down the street from my house! I had high hopes walking in thinking to myself, could this be my new nail place?? I thought wrong. I first arrive, they greet you and tell you to take a seat. I waited the usual 10-15 min for someone to be free. I get seated, all the lady says is hi. I'm not sure what her name was but she took FOREVER. She started and was on a good pace then once she put the acrylic powder on it went all down hill from there. First of all she didn't put enough powder on any of the nails. She kept adding on more and more and made them very uneven and bumpy. I don't know about you but everywhere I've gone your nails are supposed to be smooth and leveled. Second she files them, I told her I like them at a medium length and she said okay. She files them and I'm a little hesitant on the length but I thought you know I should trust her. She keeps filing and filing, at this point they are nowhere near the length I wanted them. Over an hour and a half goes by, her boss Phil has checked in on her 3 times since I sat down. Third she used a brand new nail file on me which you're NEVER supposed to do on acrylic nails because it's way to sharp. She ended up cutting me really badly. TWICE I might add and these weren't just little paper cuts, these were deep cuts like the kind you get when a cardboard box cuts you. At this point I'm pretty ticked off. Phil then came over again and could tell I was upset at how long I was sitting there and told her to go help someone else and he would finish my nails. The color wasn't even on yet keep in mind.. He then apologizes that it took so long, asked me what shape and size I wanted and I really just wanted to get out of there at that point. He starts on my nails and gives me exactly what I asked him not to give me. Nails that were very short. The shape is nothing I asked for and I'm still in a lot of pain from the deep cuts I had gotten. In the end he tried to handle the situation the best to his knowledge, he gives me a discount and offers me designs for next time... As if I were to come back after this experience. Overall I would never recommend this place to anyone and they need to properly train their employees better on the right way to do their jobs. I spent almost two and a half hours here. Also they need to teach them how to converse with customers and make them feel comfortable instead of just ignoring everything I said/asked and acting as if she never heard me. read more

This place is everything you are looking for when you for in a nail salon (minus the fish that eat calluses). Phil runs an exceptional business providing a clean salon, quality nail products, and affordable prices. He always throws in extra things like a sea salt scrub, and does not over charge for stupid stuff. It's more than worth it for me to drive from my home in Dana Point I followed (the one and only) Phil when he opened his new nail salon Studio Nails along with his wife Sydney. Why is Phil do awesome? First off, Because he treats his clients like gold. He does not rush...he takes his time on each person. Secondly he has a knack for doing acrylics and gels...he is just really REALLY good at it. Lastly, Tell him how you would like your nails done, or if there is a specific design and he will make it happen. I always tease him that he would make it big as a celebrity nail artist in LA. Sydney is also wonderful. The two of them make a great team! I'll make a small mention that I had to take my kids with me over the summer and they went above and beyond to make sure my kids were happy and comfortable there. Never thought I'd see the day when my son wouldn't mind going with me to do nails. The combination of good nail technicians, cleanliness, and hospitality seems to be hard to come by these days. A one star is all I could give this place after my first and only visit here today. I'm surprised with all the raving reviews because unfortunately I was not one of the lucky ones who walked away happy. First of all, props to GROUPON for the great deal on 2 gel manicures for $30. That was the only positive out of this experience. My friend and I made appointments for gel manicures plus a spa pedicure for each of us. We arrived at 4:05pm and didn't get out of there till 6:24pm. When we walked in there were only 2 other women getting their nails done. NATALIE, who was horrible, did my gel manicure and toe design. As more people trickled in to get their nails done her work got sloppier and sloppier. She forgot one of my gel colors, began painting with the wrong color and all she said was, "Sorry, I forgot...we are getting so busy". So how I understood that was she couldn't put the correct color on because there was now a line of people waiting. How is that my problem?? I'm thinking, whatever...and tried to shrug off her mistake like it wasn't that big of a deal. Then she said she could replicate a picture I had of my friend's nail design and that's when things got real ugly. Not only did the design look nothing like the picture (my 3 year old kid could've done better), Natalie kept looking back at the group of women waiting their turn and was overall visibly panicked and nervous. She was noticeably rushing and her hands were shaky. She put one too many top coats on. When a corner of my toe nail smudged off soon after she was done I asked her to fix it. She did, but made it look worse. And no more apologies. Instead, I got lip from another nail technician in Vietnamese. It was one of those moments when you know they're bitching about your bitching. In conclusion, someone needs to tell Natalie this job is not for her. Not coming back...ever. read more

I LOVEEE this nail salon! I had been going to the same girl for almost 10 years in Foothill Ranch. My friend took me here cause she wanted company and she had a coupon so I went and I have been going back to Phil and his team ever since for over a year now! I will walk around with bad nails until I have time to see him, and I will never settle for another nail salon. The salon is clean, inviting and relaxing. The entire team is so sweet and really prides themselves in their work! If you end up having to wait it is normal, grab a magazine or browse the colors but your wait will be worth it! I wanted to love this place because my sister does. I will say the customer service was amazing. I called 20 minutes before closing on a Sunday to see if they would be able to get me in and they said yes. Woohoo! that was exciting because i was on week 3 of my Gels and they were in need of some TLC and my regular nail place was already closed. They did a good job but filed my nails a little thinner then I would have liked, to do the gel. There were lots of colors to chose from which I liked but the gel started to peel of within a few days. This made me really sad because I wanted to like them but with the gel peeling off so quickly it was not a great option for me. I will not be going back. read more

Got a Mani n pedi here today. It was nice wish there was some sort of foot & hand massage included. My nails & toes are neat which I'm happy about. I didn't like that the young guy who works here only gave 2 individuals hot tea but didn't bother to ask any one else if they were parched or nah. The older lady who did my toes seem to be rushn me out the chair as my toes dried when no on else was in or coming in with 3 more spa seats avai. With that being said I probably wouldn't come back I like to be attended to especially when I'm paying u my hard earned money. Better customer service to ALL is my suggestion. I love this Nail Shop. Always happy the way my nails turn out after my fills, gels or a new set done by Helen she is the best.
