I was horrified after getting my hair colored last month at SALON X and not even another hair salon could fix the damage done to my hair. I am now sporting a short hair cut after a bad dye job left my hair an odd color and frizzy. my hair was pretty and hung below my shoulders. It looks like a little boys hair cut and my husband keeps laughing at me. He suggest a baseball hat to cover up the barbers shear marks used to take my hair off to the parts not damaged. I currently have only hair length at my ears. I dislike hats especially base ball hats. you only wear a hat if you are going into gym on dirt hair mornings. when I showed up at gym all the girls in my workout pod laughed at me. another salon did their best to fix damage caused by SALON X. I am never going back to salon x they are a bunch of nosy lunatics. some old woman pinched my cheek and said my hair will grow back. I am never going into business again a friend refers me too. they are a bunch of gossipy women to busy talking to each other when they should just button up and focus on the person sitting in the chair. mothers nosy are not good reference checkers. read more

I was recommended by a friend to go to Kim Ruiz. I called her. I made an appointment. My hair was cut. I was happy. Now I am really picky and know exactly what I want but can never articulate to a stylist, the worst kind of client. I like to switch things up to keep things fresh, which is hard because there are only so many guys cuts. The hardest thing for me to find is a stylist that gets what I am asking for and actually DOES what I want. Kim Ruiz is this stylist. She is totally up for coming up with something new when I don't know what I want; and I always love my hair cut. She never gives one of those "wait a couple weeks and it will look good" cuts; her cuts always look perfect walking out the door. I have loved every haircut and get compliments all the time. Also the salon is a bumble and bumble salon which is a big plus. I have been going to her for over a year and I know I will be following her wherever she goes. Jennifer Juarez (formerly Feigner) is the BEST! Not only does she love what she does but it translates into her creativity! I am a girl who likes something a little different every month and doesn't know how to use styling tools. Jen finds something new and great each month and makes sure that it is within my ability to recreate at home. Her cuts are fresh and her color and recommendations are spot on! It is so hard to find someone dependable to do your hair, someone that you can trust to do what you ask or come up with something amazing when you have no idea what you want. KIM has saved me!!! I spent 3 years searching for someone capable to do my hair. My hair is not the easiest to deal with, but Kim can do it. When I wanted to go from brunette to platinum blond, Kim helped me do it. When I wanted to cut my hair short even though I have a ton of hair which means I had the potential to look like a Q-tip, Kim helped me do it. I love this salon! I see Regina Khanna, their esthetician for facials. Her facials and peels are hands down the greatest I have ever had. My skin breaks out occasionally and Regina knows just what to do to make my skin calm and clear. I have an olive skin complexion and acne has left dark spots on my skin. Regina does microdermabrasion on me every 3 weeks and the dark spots are nearly gone. Not only is she great at her job but she is a great person whose serene nature is contagious. Had a great hair appointment here with a gal named Jennifer. I had been looking for a new stylist and tried out a few which didnt listen to me or needed some more experience (on someone else thank you very much). I was seen on time, she listened and did a great job. She was also appropriately chatty and not overly verbose and gossipy like some of them can be. I have never liked my hair, ever.  I never considered that I could actually have a hair "style" because my hair is so thin and fine, it pretty much just always sat up there on my head being blah no matter how any stylist cut it or colored it.  That was before I met Blaire, before I went to X Salon and had the best "hair luck" because someone had cancelled their appointment and she happily fit me in for a cut and color.  To sum it: I love my hair, Blaire is wonderful! read more

She was based out of Fremont for many years and I now drive to San Ramon for my facials, because I wont trust anyone else with my skin. Regina has a passion for skin and skincare. JENNA is quite the little stylist, and the price is VERY reasonable. It's not all the time that a stylist can do both men and women's hair, but Jenna is very metro that way. I totally agree with Ashley D's review above, she listens to what you want, not what she wants to do.
