Had to pick out a couple of new suits due to my regular suits being unavailable for when I needed them. "The Suit Outlet" (Hollywood Studioz Outlet) was the first and only place I stopped. The store is neat, it has a very nice variety, and had several "deals" at different price points. Jim was very knowledgeable and took the time to understand what I needed the suits for and made excellent recommendations based off of the information I gave him. In the past, the worst part about suit shopping was trying to get the experienced opinion of the salesperson without that same salesperson trying to upscale you and laying out so many clothes it would take hours to get through. As I said, I explained to Jim what I needed the suits for, the quality's was looking for, and the price I had in mind. My expectations were exceeded in all areas. Excellent customer service. Very thorough explanation of proper fitting, etc. it's important to remember though that they do not do tailoring. I took my suit to my tailor and had to pay $90. Still not a bad deal considering my suit cost 200 and some dollars and included a shirt and a tie. Definitely recommend. read more

My husband has purchased suits from Jim in the past and was very happy with product and service so I decided to take my son there to shop for homecoming. Jim, the owner, is a total pro. He is a fantastic salesman and has great taste. He understood our budget and style and helped up pick the perfect suit, shirt, and tie to go along with it. We went to buy a suit for my Wedding. I went in not expecting to see modern suits but the store owner quickly assisted us and helped me find the right size suit and we found exactly what we were looming for. He educated us in how to get the right size suit and how everything should git. The very short version: The first most important piece of information you need is this: It's behind the Chic-Fil-A on Rose. Don't listen to your damned GPS app. Now, need a suit? Don't wanna spend a lot of money? Hate figuring this out? Go here. Guys -- what to expect? Ever had to supply an athletic team with jerseys? Big room, lots of jerseys, different packages? Same deal, but not Jerseys, and no names to screw up. Also, you don't have to buy 35 team jerseys to get a good deal. You could buy 2 cheap suits for $299, or 2 less cheap and better suits for $399, etc. Or, you could just buy one decent / non-cheapo suit with shirt and tie for under $200. The very long version: So, I absolutely hate clothes shopping. Before you even read any more of this review, understand the following: I am a pudgy, undertall man who does not fit in anything that comes off a rack, ever. The only thing I ever find easy to buy are the same Van Huesen shirts I have been buying for years, and that frame me out like a squarer cartoon character. My entire life I have lived between sizes. The last time I bought suits, I spent $1000. Then I lost 40 pounds, rendering them useless. NEVER AGAIN. So, as you read this review, understand that while I went with 4 stars, Jim probably deserves 5. I just absolutely cannot stand shopping for clothes, as its a constant reminder that I don't fit. Give him a 4.5, and approach this review with the contextual reminder that I wanted a cheap yet reasonable suit. Jim was the lone person working in a warehouse of suits. He eagerly, energetically, and efficiently was able to work with 3-4 different groups of aloof men - some of whom were led by their wives/girlfriends. The thing I really appreciate about coming here is this: Jim teaches you stuff that is valuable if you are clueless, and that would let you go somewhere else if you wanted to bother. Every time I have ever been suit shopping in my life, I have been led around the room by a dude being paid on commission, who is trying to upsell me, or add-on shoes, or a belt, or cedar hangers that will magically protect against moths, etc. Jim*does*not*do*any*of*this*nonsense.* Instead, Jim says, "OK, here's what you measure up as," and points you in the direction of options. Then he goes and helps someone else while you figure that out. Then he comes back and says, "How'd we do, what are you thinking?" Then he explains what is and isn't going to work in terms of tailoring, and lets you make choices. In my case, my typically non-conformative body refuted the measurements typically made by tape, and we went up a size. I can't blame this on Jim. I always, always, ALWAYS measure smaller than I am. So, to the larger rack I went, and off Jim went to help someone pick a shirt. I tried on a few different suits of different materials and such. Jim returned, and I had my selection. He confirmed it was easily alterable at the tailor, recommended several, and led me to my shirt and tie selection. The thing I loved about this interaction was I asked Jim if he could recommend a tailor, and he asked where I lived. I told him I lived in a neighboring town, about 10 miles away. Then he named three, by name, within a mile of my house, and had specific reviews and info about their pricing, timeline, and quality of work. To put it simply, Jim knows the industry in this town. He knows who he has worked with in the past. He puts together group packages for weddings. My significant other, a high school teacher, knew of the shop because of the number of students who go there for "prom deals." So let's wrap this up by saying: Are you an executive looking for designer suits at the highest prices? If you are, why are you reading this review!? But, if you need an affordable suit in a low-pressure sales environment, and can handle making independent choices and accepting reasonable guidance? You'll do fine here and not spend a lot of money. read more

This is a great place to buy a suit, I have a hard to find size and they had a good selection, including slim fits. They were slightly understaffed when I came in, but Ed handled the situation professionally and gave me a GREAT deal to make up for the lost time. I had lost about 40 pounds and my suits were just too big (along with aged) so after looking into local suit brokers, I looked at The Suit Outlet and 3 Day Suit Broker. I used YELP to decide where I wanted to go first... and YELP steered me direct to The Suit Outlet. First, this is a family owned business - the owner works the floor. While there on a Sunday, he managed to successfully handle multiple customers while being humorous, helpful and honest the entire time. Jim (owner) knows his stuff!!! He tried to steer me towards one size - then when I tried it on, he realized my shoulder fit was great but my mid-section would not work.... so he adjusted to a different suit design and WOW... it fit perfect! Jim even steered me towards the mid-price suits, knowing my need was not the top of the line. Then the package was explained--- set price - two suits, two dress shirts, two ties... All at one discounted prince....and he measured my shirt size and left us to pick ties then he matched shirts to ties......WOW... what an experience. He fitted me in two beautiful suits, made suggestions as to how to tailor them for the best fit, found the perfect shirts for my build, and matched great looking ties. My partner and I are travelling on a cruise, and being a very formal ship, we needed to get him a tux. Before leaving Australia, I did lots of research on where to find good quality suits, without breaking the bank. After reading some scathing reviews about the suit outlets in Los Angeles, I stumbled across The Suit Outlet in Oxnard, as we were heading out to Camarillo to visit the Premium Outlets, and it was nearby. I'm so glad I did. Jim was the sweetest, most knowlegable person. He really knows his suits. We got my partner completly fitted out with a tux and a few shirts and ties for a fraction of what we would have paid at home for a suit of that quality. There were all types of suits from the inexpensive specials (2 suits for $299) as well as high quality merchandise that was still so affordable.
