I recently worked with Style on Site for wedding hair and makeup services as a referral from a friend. The way their business is laid out is slightly different than others in the area. You work with their group directly who then contract out hair and makeup stylists for your trail and day of services. If you are someone who likes direct contact with a stylists this may not be the route for you. HOWEVER! They offer very low minimum spend (5 services) and no charges for travel as long as your getting ready location is in the suburbs. This was perfect as I had a small bridal party and minimal family members interested in getting hair or makeup done. Also, their prices were very competitive. I worked with Sam for makeup! Sam did a great job asking the right questions, applying the right looks for people who usually wear minimal makeup, and checking in to ensure what she was doing was liked. Everyone felt very much like themself and makeup lasted all night. For hair, I worked with Alex! Between my trail and wedding morning, it took Alex and I some time to get to my final wedding look. She was patient with me but had some difficulties interpreting my vision. I can 100% say that it was all worth it in the end because i LOVED my hair. I felt like myself and it held all night. My other girls also enjoyed their hair and really felt heard by Alex. Lastly, I recommend to Style on Site to shoot for consistency with their clients. Having discussions with my friend, the offerings and accommodations were very different between our two experiences. read more

Marie did my hair and make up during my trial and wedding and she was such a pleasure to work with and surpassed by wedding vision expectations. I had these girls for my wedding last October. I could not have asked for better staff or coordination. They came to my home in Joliet to do a trial and did exactly what I dreamed. And then re-created it for the big day! The wedding day, of course, started at 7am and they were very prompt and came to the hotel we were staying at to do the makeup and hair of about ten people. While I am very clumsy when it comes to styling my own hair, I have to say that I am skilled at doing make up. However, as my July wedding date approached, I started to think that getting my hair and make-up done would ensure that I felt my best on my wedding day. A friend recommended Style Onsite, so I called and had all of the details figured out by Leslie in minutes. I am from Chicago, but live in Los Angeles, and Leslie was very accommodating in scheduling my last-minute hair and make-up trial with herself and Sam during the short time that I was in town. During the trial, I was impressed with the questions that Leslie and Sam asked me about my hair, skin, style, and wedding details. They looked at my sample hair and make-up photos, and helped me to choose the "Old Hollywood" version that would hold up the best on my hot July wedding day based upon my hair and skin type. Their counterpart, Ashley, even spray-tanned me for the first time the next day because I had mentioned that I had bathing suit lines that I was worried would show in my dress. Thanks, Ashley! I have to say, getting ready for my wedding is one of my best memories of my wedding day (and I loved my wedding!), and Style Onsite had a lot to do with that. Leslie and Sam showed up at around 11 AM at my aunt's house to get us ready, and we enjoyed a leisurely morning taking turns in the hair and make-up chair while visiting over brunch and mimosas. My whole wedding party was impressed with how Leslie and Sam listened to their ideas or made suggestions if they had no idea what they wanted. I also really liked that Leslie and Sam were very willing to make changes to their work if it wasn't exactly what you wanted at first (for example, my mom is more cutting edge than most women her age, so Leslie made her hair a little more funky after my mom thought that it was too soft at first, and Sam added more eye make-up to her as well to match her personality). Overall, booking Style Onsite was one of the best vendor decisions I made for my wedding day, and I am reminded of this every time I view my photos. To this day it shocks me what poor service I got from Leslie. It was very traumatizing. When I reminisce about my wedding planning I enjoyed the process with all the vendors except them. I actually loved their stylist and going through my emails I'm still seeing how much patience I was having while corresponding with Style Onsite, how much excitement I showed in working with their stylist and wanted to understand what all they needed from me. However, when begging for clarification on matters, I was responded to in an accusatory manner like "I don't understand why you don't get it", etc. They were difficult to work with and I constantly got a feeling they wanted to cancel me and get another client. Instead of helping me understand things with every email she would insinuate I drop their contract. As a busy physician working nights and 24 hr shifts I executed utmost patience with them. I had booked them about 8-9 months before my wedding and then 3 months before the wedding they called me a "difficult bride" and dropped my contract. 2 years later, this still hurts me. read more

Wedding hair and makeup: Style Onsite did hair and makeup for my Wedding in October 2015. Three words: amazing, amazing, amazing! We had Leslie and Ashley doing hair and Nancy and Colleen doing makeup, and all 4 were awesome. They did 6 bridesmaids hair and makeup, plus 2 moms who have never had their hair or makeup done before, and my bridal updo and makeup. They worked so quickly especially with each bridesmaid wanting something totally different. I had some picky bridesmaids too and they responded really well to any changes the girls wanted. My great experience started with my hair and makeup trial at the salon a few weeks before the wedding. Leslie did a great job duplicating the photo I showed her. She listened to what kind of dress I was wearing and how I wanted to wear my veil, and made everything work for what I wanted. Nancy did my trial and day-of makeup. Nancy is my hero. She is so incredibly talented and takes a lot of pride in her work. She spent over an hour on my trial makeup. I am someone who does not wear a lot of makeup and she did a great job coaching me through everything and explaining why she was doing certain things. She made me feel comfortable with what I chose and even helped my mom and I take some pictures after the trial was over to show how everything would show up in photos. I'm not quite sure what is a good average price for wedding hair and makeup, but Style Onsite was worth every penny. Not only do they travel to your location, but they are so professional and know how to get shit done. PLUS, at the time I booked, they were offering a discount for the number of bridesmaids I had. Looking for anything wedding related in the Chicago area is so overwhelming because there are just SO many options. How do you know who's actually good and who's just trying to get on the wedding band wagon. I found Style Onsite through one of the wedding websites (The Knot, I believe) and I am very happy I did because they did a great job. They were really patient. I had two trials because I didn't like my first one. They were really accommodating and everyone's hair looked great. I loved my make up as well. I would definitely recommend them. I made an appointment with Samantha for a private make-up application and instruction. She was a referral to me by my friend Kira, who took her class a year ago. Samantha was very professional and down-to-Earth. She was an absolute expert with filling in my eyebrows and showing me the proper techniques. Half the battle was just knowing the right products for the job! She spent a significant amount of time differentiating bronzer, contour and highlight; and how to apply those specific to each face shape. She also went through the basics of BB, CC, foundation, tinted moisturizers, etc. - And let me just say, fake eyelashes?, yes please! I cannot picture my life without them now. Once Samantha showed me the correct way to wear them and not get glue lumps everywhere, I was hooked. Sweet Jesus, her eye make-up skills are clutch! She showed me everything from a bright peacock blue and purple eye, a smoky eye, a shimmery gold eye and a natural muted eye for work. Also, its nice to have a Make-up artist's and instructors honest perspective on quality products, not just randomly shopping for stuff at make-up counters and Ulta when I'm killing time. I really enjoyed Samantha's class. She has a lot of experience and I will absolutely use Samantha when I need a professional make-up artist. I was beyond impressed. I came here for a trail run of hair and makeup. $250 for both which seemed a bit high. The stylist didn't listen to any of my wishes. The hair looked awful and the makeup was worse. Another lady was getting her hair done in the salon and was loud and talking about things that people have put in their butts. I'm disgusted listening to that for 2 hours! Stay clear of this place. Ashley came to my home to do my hair for my daughter's wedding. First of all, she was a few minutes early which was nice. I had a tight schedule that day and was a little stressed about the time that I gave for my hair and make up. She was friendly and very patient and accommodating. My hair is long, thick and curly...so pretty much a nightmare. She did such a beautiful job!!! My daughter is a hair stylist but she was obviously too busy getting ready for her wedding that she didn't have time to do my hair as well but she did keep coming to check and give her approval.
