I was a walk in this week and scared because I'm always worried about what will be done to my hair by a stylist I've never met or been to before. Well my "walk in"turned out to be a great experience!!! I was given to Vita (a stylist with many years of experience) and great personal style. Anyway, my mother came with me and showed her some of the ideas from photos and after she looked at my head she was like a Leonardo Da Vinci at work sculpting away at a masterpiece. Talk about a master at work!! I had an extreme makeover and it matched the shape of head/face. Vita is great!!! Thanks and I'll be back for more services. Then... I've been going here for almost two years. It was because of yelp that I decided to give it a try. I have always had a great experience here with my haircuts and eyebrow shaping. However, this past weekend I decided it was time for some color and a new cut all together. I placed my hair, literally, in the hands of Vita and was floored and grateful by the results. I gave her a quick, kinda vague description, of what I was looking for and she did her magic. She had cut my hair one other time and while it was a great experience, this past one was just above and beyond my expectations. My only complaint is that they only take cash or checks and since she styled my hair (which I wasn't planning on, I looked fabulous but that wasn't in my budget) the amount came out to be more than expected. I had enough cash to pay but then felt bad because I don't feel I tipped as much as I would've liked to. I plan on making up for it when I go in again for my brows in a few days but still. Make sure you bring a check book or ask for pricing beforehand so you know if you have enough cash. read more

I was looking for a place to have my 6 year old son's hair cut, so I browse Yelp for nearby salons. This place gets great reviews, and even though I drive past here daily and it looks like a dump, I thought I'd trust the reviews and give it a shot... Maybe it's a diamond in the rough... WRONG. So wrong. Made an appointment and brought him in. The only other clients at the salon the whole time we were there were an older woman getting a perm and a half-bald man. The woman we were scheduled with did not even introduce herself and was not friendly in any way. Good thing my son sits well for haircuts. I didn't ask for anything fancy... His hair had gotten shaggy and he needed it "cleaned up", just an all-over trim. I had to ask her to recut it twice, and it still looks awful. First she cut the back straight across at his neck and then straight up the sides behind the ears. Then she did the bowl cut, straight across the forehead. I asked her to layer up the front so it's not straight across, and now it looks like it's intentionally zigzagged with extra straggly hairs that didn't make it into the scissors. I could have done a better job, and have ZERO training. Maybe it was just this woman, maybe she's not experienced with kids' hair, or maybe this place just sucks. Whatever the cause, I will not be back, and I say good luck to you if you decide to give this place a try! read more

Went in last minute yesterday wanting a perm to get my naturally wavy/curly hair a little more defined. Ever since it's gotten past my shoulders, its gone semi-straight and i was missing the curl. Lana assessed by hair and informed me that giving me a cut and adding some layers may rejuvenate my locks and bring back my natural curls without spending a pretty penny on a perm. I go to Lana and she's fantastic with my highlights, making sure to do as little color damage as possible, never coloring the ends. Prices are comparable or a tad cheaper than I've seen around. If I could give more than five stars I would! Lana is the most expertly trained and skilled highlight/hair colorist I have ever had work on my hair. I have super long, very thick hair so it can be challenging to the average colorist but not for lana! She works her magic and makes me look fabulous. Her technique is meticulous and she takes pride in what she does. Other stylists try to shave time by doing bigger sections of foils but she takes a lot of time to do it right. First off I recommend never ever get your highlights done by yourself... Yes I did that mistake and didn't like the results I've never trusted no one with my hair other than me but now I see that it's not worth it you end up paying more due to the damage by trying to get it cheaper so I started looking around yelp I needed help asap!!!!!!! This place is great. For some time I have been looking for a place near my house that had great service, was up with times and accommodating for families. Fantastic Cuts and Colors fits the bill. I've only been here twice and I can tell you right now, I will be a long time customer of theirs because of what they offered. Recently I went to get a haircut and I had my twins with me. So, I brought them along and while I was getting my haircut they were to patiently wait until I was done. This is when the staff offered to accommodate every 5 year olds wish. They gave them something to drink, shared with them cookies (Dad approved of) and even changed the television channel to an appropriate kid show. I was blown away with the level of service because they certainly went over and beyond the call of duty. Not to mention, each time I had a haircut, I was more than pleased with the results and the friendliness of the staff. I will recommend this place in a heartbeat. read more

Excellent hairtcut by Vita! She is really amazing, takes time to listen to you and then gives her recommendations. She is very professional and does not indulge in mindless chit chat. I was very happy with the hair cut however i have few complaints about the business: 1] Their location on google maps is wrong, when i called them to make an appointment i specifically mentioned that i have never been there before, so a word of caution about wrong address would have been helpful. The maps show that the salon is in the middle of residential complex, as i was driving i saw a strip mall and thought that may be the salon was in the mall and i went looking for 10 mintues. Called them up and this time they told me it was near euclid and plum grove road, 20 mins of extra time driving time. 2] When i called up i was told that the haircut was $25 for cut and shampoo. I asked them if they charged anything extra for long hair, she said no, it was $25 for haircut. Before cutting Vita asked me if i wanted styling done, i told her that i was planning on applying hairmasks and all later in the day, so styling was not needed. She told me that it would cost regular haircut. , which i assumed to be $25 because that is what i was told over the phone. Imagine my surprise when i wanted to pay the bill, that my cost was $40! I have had expensive haircuts before, and i was ok with paying $40 but i did not like the fact that they told me one price over the phone and later billed me for something else, when i asked them why it was $40, the owner mentioned that my hair was long and thick etc. etc. I just wanted to pay the bill and leave as i was in a hurry and when i took out my card, they told me only cash or check! really!! No one bothered to tell me when i made appointment or when i called again, so i had to drive again to bmo harris bank, pay extra fees and draw cash to pay them. When i went back again to pay them from the cash i withdrew, she only took $30 from me. But somehow I did not like the back and forth changes to the price... On the whole, the haircut was excellent but these other things make me wonder if i will ever go back....may be i will...only time will tell :) read more

I would not recommend anyone going here if you getting anything other than a buzz cut! They were running a special of $40 for a color and cut and boy did I get my money's worth! Not only was the stylist very unprofessional all she kept on doing was bad mouthing other salons in the area. I walked in and it was only her and the owner I assume, she never even introduced herself, then took me back and asked what I would like done. I told her I want to color my hair black and a trim. She decided that dark brown was black because that's what I got and she also decided for me that I need 3-4 inches chopped of vs. the TRIM that I ask for!!! The funny part was that I told her that I myself use to do hair so you would think she would TRY to do a decent job but her application was sloppy and instead of taking small sections and applying the color she took long vertical sections and slopped on the color, then would smooch my hair in a ball in order to spread the color. When cutting my hair instead of taking small sections and just following the cut that was already there, she decided to cut it all together without taking any sections!! That's not it! Then then cut my layers when I said I wanted them long and cut below the occipital bone which you should NEVER do because you will cut a hole into your line! Then at the end of the service she barely dried my hair and didn't even bother showing me the back of my hair. So I grabbed the mirror to look and was horrified! Not only was my color wrong, which I let slide, but my hair had gone from mid back to right below my shoulders and was totally uneven! Then when I said something about it she acted all defensive like she didn't know what I was talking about and couldn't see it... (maybe she should go get her eyes checked because it was plain as day) So the owner tried fixing it but couldn't really do much because in order to even it out it would take cutting off another 3inches! IF I COULD POST A PICTURE I WOULD TO PROVE WHAT A HORRIBLE JOB SHE DID!!! To top is off when I got home I realized that she had stained my sweater with color!My suggestion to the owner is to open her eyes and see that this stylist, whose name I don't know because she never gave it to me, is just going to give her salon a BAD name! When you run specials it's to create an opportunity to gain customers. I understand this was pretty cheap for color and cut but IF she would have done a decent job I WOULD have come back in the future! Maybe this is why you don't have anyone else besides men walking through your doors for a $10 cut and ladies calling you asking for their money back on the phone! I should of walked out as soon as I heard that and you proceeding to make excuses and call everyone crazy doesn't make things any better and I'm sure your register would agree!!! read more
