I greatly appreciated that my artist, Nayaab, who had no issues giving me a natural, but nontraditional bridal makeup look! She did a stellar job of experimenting with different colors, she was transparent about what would and wouldn't go together, and in the end made me look stunning. Update: company did email me and did remind me many of my complaints, besides scheduling are in the contract. As someone who has never done this before I didn't realize and should have read the contract more. That is a good thing to be aware for any in future working with this company. The team did great work so I have adjusted the review to 3 out of 5. This is difficult to write. There were aspects of the service I was very happy with. Everyone who came did great work. Lisa specifically made my bridal hair dreams come true. CJ, Amy, and Eva all did great. So with the final product, I'm very happy. It was stressful getting there though. The timeline was running very late and luckily Lisa ended up doing extra to help us with timing. 2 people didn't end up coming until later because of traffic, but that has to be taken into consideration. I had hoped they would have been able to start earlier than 11:30 so we weren't on such a tight timeline, but they said that is the earliest they could do and stated they were already doing so much to accommodate me. I added someone on and when I hoped to change it a weeks before they said once a service is added it can't be taken off, which is in their contract, but they don't mention this when you add on. They also come up as Chicago artists, but they are in the burbs and it costs 180 to get them to come to Chicago. They also didn't bring chairs for makeup so we had the hotel bring extra. The last thing is my hotel fee was more than expected and it's because the makeup artists valeted on my name adding an extra $130 dollars I didn't know about. Never once in my life did I think at two weeks post partum and running on 2 hours of sleep from the night before after living at the hospital the first week my daughter was born due to complications would I receive an email after I posted a google review about my experience with a business and threaten to have a lawsuit sought against me, but here I am. In no way is this review of anyone else opinion and its of my personal experience with the vendor. I also am posting on behalf of myself, the bridesmaid in the bridal party, and not the bride or anyone else. I want to make that very clear. I was sent an email at 2:28PM on 10/23/24 and I advised "if the review is not removed within 72 hours, we will proceed with legal action". I originally posted reviews on the wedding wire, the knot, google and yelp. My reviews on the wedding wire and the knot were removed due to me being a bridesmaid and not a bride by the knot and the wedding wire after the company disputed the reviews. I was in a wedding on 9/21/24. Hair and makeup were done by Hairs 2 the Bride, LTD. I would never recommended the company for any other bride to use, I want to reiterate that I was a bridesmaid and not the bride. I paid the bride $200 for my portion of the services that she booked. I was highly dissatisfied with the services I received on the day of the wedding. I personally saw with my own two eyes that the makeup artist used an elf product and a colourpop product. For me personally, my right eye was glued shut in the beginning by the makeup artist, and then my lashes that were provided by the company were partially falling off within an hour of being applied, and the lipstick that was applied by the makeup artist (the lipstick was provided by the bride and it was Sephora) was patchy and I needed to reapply the lipstick in the bathroom for full coverage. When I was getting my hair done I advised the hairstylist that I had two wefts of extensions in my hair and the hair style that I selected was loose curls that were down. I didn't request any updo but just for my hair to be curled. The stylist advised that it was going to be an extra $20 due to the extra work of having hair extensions. I advised her that I wasn't aware of this and she said its in the contract. I advised her that I did not have cash or a credit card and that I could take care of it at a later time. She advised it needed to be taken care of before they left and I directed her to the bride. I was highly unsatisfied that I received subpar, in my opinion, services. I would have expected makeup and a hair style that also would have lasted all night. On 6/6/24 I attended a hair trial with the bride. I was there with my 9 year old autistic step son. My step son was sitting in a chair that had a few holes and patches in it. My step son had ripped open one of the open holes after picking at it. I offered to pay for a leather patch, and left the bride alone with the hair stylist. At 6:12PM the bride texted me advising that she was charged $270 for a replacement chair and was sent a video of surveillance footage of all three of us during the trial. I was unaware I was being recorded while there. I do not know as I was not there the extent of the conversation with the bride as I was just relayed the information secondhand per the bride, but I paid the bride back via venmo for what she was charged. I find it personally unsettling being recorded without my permission and at no time was I personally advised that I was being recorded and I did not personally see any signs indicating there was video surveillance. In the video surveillance supplied to me from the bride via text message, you can see my step son sitting and picking on the right hand side. You do not see him touching the left. On the photo of the chair it shows multiple holes on both the right and left hand sides that could not have been caused by my step son as proven by the video surveillance provided by the company. The make-up willow did was pretty good, the eyes were on point but she did not match and blend the foundation. The hair was absolutely atrocious! I tried telling her what I wanted and showed her pictures but she could not figure it out. She left a huge line/part on the side of my head to do a half up half down hairstyle. I asked her to fix it but she didn't. She said well this is a trial we'll get it right the day of the wedding. The point of the trial is to get it down the first time, so the wedding day goes smoothly. I literally asked her to take it down bc I was so embarrassed to go out like that. The girls who showed up were professional and energetic. They added to the excitement of the day. The 3 adults who got their hair and make up done were extremely happy with the results and looked perfect for the day. The 2 girls that had their hair and make up done looked just as amazing but definitely age appropriate. We all were complimented on our hair and make up all night and how great we all looked. The 5 star reviews on here are totally FAKE! Did a bridal hair and makeup trial -JUST THE TRIAL. Was charged $250 for hair and makeup. Honestly, it is not about the price because I'm that bride that will pay whatever you want me to pay as long as service provided was as promised and exceptional. Make-up was not of high quality came off 2 hours post application and all I did was have dinner at a restaurant with my girlfriends in an air conditioning building. Eyelash fell off my eyes 1 hour post application during dinner-HOW EMBARRASSING! Imagine if that happened during my wedding- absolutely unacceptable! Also was charge extra $80 for going over the 1 hour time limit per hair and makeup trial. First off- who puts a time limit on hair and makeup trials!? Brides want to look absolutely their best on their wedding day and to place a time pressure on service made me feel rush. It was not my fault the "time limit" was over-as their artist got side track with chatting too much. All I did was sit there and showed a photo of what I wanted my hair/makeup to look like. I chose H2B because of the great reviews. However,I would not use this company again. I should have cancelled when my first trials didn't go well but Michelle worked with me and we did the trial again (hair was free but I paid for make-up again). Hair 2nd time around went real well, make up turned out better than the 1st time but I still felt my foundation did not match my face. Michelle once again worked with me and stated an artist with more make up options would do my foundation day of, I was fine with this because if I cancelled now, I would still have to pay for everything. Few days before the wedding, I was sent a schedule with name, time and stylist for the day of. Day of, 3 stylists show up as planned. H2B was well aware I had to be done by 2pm from initial email conversations. I was not done till about 2:20ish, I leave the rest of the wedding party at the hotel to head to the venue to change and meet the photographer. As I do the final look I realize they DID NOT even put mascara on me and the next day I realized I paid extra for the Bride Package and I NEVER received the glam bag and whatever else the package included. Being late and forgetting to put mascara on me irritated me. Being late delayed pictures, stressed me and the wedding party which just irritated me more. Hairs2TheBride was the only vendor that did not live up to expectations for our wedding. The first person I spoke with, Michael, was lovely and along with reviews he was the reason I went with them. Everything went downhill after that. Michelle (one of the owners) did my trial. Even though I showed her photos of how I wanted to do my hair she did it differently & we had to do a 2nd attempt. I had to email multiple times to ask about fake eyelashes, then on day of wedding they made my maid-of-honor pull out a new credit card to pay for them, when they should've just taken care of this with me prior to the day. When planning the wedding Hairs2TheBride changed their arrival/departure times FIVE times. They communicated to our day-of coordinator that they felt this was okay because the departure time on the contract was being met - but of course this meant that each time we also had to change other items such as a breakfast day of, the photographer's arrival, the time we arrived to venue, etc. Our day of coordinator (Holly from Sarah Kathleen Events) was amazing and w/out her emailing and calling we wouldn't have been able to juggle all the changes. On the wedding day, Arianna took so long to do the maid of honor's hair and makeup that she was unable to get dressed in time to help me into my dress. She had a hard time doing a braid that pulled off to the side with some curls, which seems like a fairly common wedding hairstyle. She also did such a bad job that Michelle had to redo her eye make-up. We only had 3 people getting hair & make-up done but I didn't even get to see the 3rd get started because I had to get out to my first-look, then photos. Between the admin side of killing our timeline, then the fact that they employ people that can't actually do hair & make-up I would NOT ever recommend them. read more

On the morning of my wedding, the team came in and began arguing with me about my contract, demanding that I did not pay the appropriate amount. I paid exactly what the invoice that their company created stated. The company charged me $10 less one 1 bridesmaid's service. This team started my wedding day by demanding I had underpaid them, all for the $10 that they mis-charged on the invoice. It was so uncomfortable, my maid of honor asked them to have the conversation in a different room. It was an incredibly unprofessional and embarrassing situation. The team was more interested in talking and gossiping with each other than allowing the day to be special for me and my bridesmaids. As the bride, I had to yell over them to even talk to my own mom. The day of I made a slight change to what I wanted for my hair from we did at my trial and she had no problem with it. After I was in my dress she came back and put my long veil in for me. I want to start by saying that Lisa was fantastic! Not only is she extremely talented but she was also such a calming presence to have the morning of my wedding. She was able to fully execute my vision and I am grateful being able to work with her. This review does not reflect her services which were outstanding. That said, there were a few issues that I want to share as I'd want to know them as a future bride before booking Hairs 2 The Bride. As per the schedule sent to us ahead of time, each service was allotted 45 minutes. While 3 of the stylists were able to stay on schedule, Victoria took almost double the time per person for each service. Because of this, some of the stylists needed to pick up some of the services I paid for but also 2 people (my flower girl included) did not get their hair done, which was paid for ahead of time. Lisa did her best to pick up some of the slack (she ended up doing one of my sisters' hair instead of Victoria) but she was headed to a second wedding of the day and was already running late. My sister, the maid of honor, had to have her hair redone by another bridesmaid and fix her own makeup as the airbrush used barely covered blemishes on her face and she was extremely pale. One of the other stylists, Natalie, worked quickly, however she was unable to do any braids, which Lisa had to help with again. Many of my bridesmaids wanted braids incorporated into their hairstyles and she was unable to do it for them. It probably would have made sense for the company to ask what hair styles each person would want so they can be prepared with stylists that are able to get them done. While I appreciate the schedules provided, there was no flexibility the day of. My mother in law's friend's hair was done as she was on Natalie's schedule. This friend was only added to the schedule because Michelle wouldn't let me cancel one service one day after it was too late per the contract. However the day of, there was no consideration of priorities of people in the room. My flower girl should have been prioritized before my mother in law's friend and this didn't happen, resulting in her mom having to do her hair (which she had already pre-paid for). I was charged an additional $50 per stylist due to a holiday weekend wedding which I knew when I booked and understood. However, having been charged a premium I expected premium service and although most of us were happy with the end result this was the only vendor that caused me stress on my wedding day. Lastly, rather than first writing a review I decided to reach out to Michelle directly to voice my concerns about working with Hairs 2 the Bride on my wedding day. She responded asking if we could discuss this over the phone so I gave her my number and told her when to give me a call. She never called, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt and reached back out saying if she is still interested in discussing this she can call me the following afternoon. That was three days ago and I have not heard back from her. I thought she would have appreciated the feedback; if I was a business owner I would want to know about any issues or mishaps that might have happened as a result of my company's services. I felt it was only right to post this review so future brides are aware of the issues I had with this company. read more

As an out of state bride, I wasn't able to meet with any of my vendors until the day of my wedding. I thought I was making a decent choice with this vendor, but that did not turn out to be the case. A week or so before my wedding, Michelle (the owner) and I confirmed the payment options - specifically because some of my wedding party was going to charge their payments, and some were paying cash. I was assured this was no issue. A few days prior to my wedding, Michelle called me late at night (around 830pm) and wanted to confirm that she was only accepting "one cash payment" on the day of the wedding. She then proceeded to tell me there'd be a 10% service fee if I chose for the girls to have separate payments, and kindly reminded me she would charge my card on file for ALL of the services scheduled for the entire wedding party, if I chose to cancel for a more flexible hair and makeup artist. After a few phone calls back and forth, she agreed to waive the 10% fee and allow us to pay as we needed to. On the day of our wedding, the hair stylist and makeup artist were on time. Unfortunately, I ended up nearly being late to my wedding because myself and my wedding party had to redo our hair and makeup ourselves. My sister ended up with orange makeup clearly visible around her neckline area and her eyebrows were never filled in. The hair stylist only brought one single curling iron with her, meaning the girls all had to have tight curls, which none of them wanted. My mom asked for beach waves and ended up with the tightest curls possible. I asked my makeup artist for SOFT /NATURAL makeup and ended up looking like I just painted my makeup on for my skeleton Halloween costume. Despite my requests and guidance, I had to fix my makeup myself. I asked for loose curls, and again, had to continue loosening my curls. I didn't get the sense that these ladies were professionals in the field - they didn't seem experienced at filing in eyebrows, contouring, etc. I also paid $180 for false lashes that weren't used on me because my makeup ended up being too dark, and a glam bag with 1 bottle of hairspray and 1 bottle of glue for the lashes I did not use. Overall, I would NOT recommend using this company, unless you don't really care much about how you look or what you pay for. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about Michelle, Jenny, and Hairs 2 The Bride. Jenny did hair and makeup for me (the bride) and two other people in our wedding party. I opted to have a trial (which you have to pay for, but it is well worth it) and I am so glad that I did. Michelle and Jenny were both present for the trial and looked at a bunch of pictures of what I wanted and made suggestions based on their experience. They both recommended against having airbrush makeup done for my summer wedding because they said that tears and sweat do not mix well with airbrush. I listened to their advice and had the 24 hour liquid foundation makeup applied for my trial. I ended up not really liking it as I am not used to liquid foundation and it felt really thick on my skin. I panicked, thinking I was going to be so uncomfortable on the wedding day. Michelle had me come back to her house, free of charge, so that I could try the airbrush, which was much more comfortable for me. I really appreciated her willingness to let me try multiple things! The day of the wedding, Jenny arrived early and set up so that she was ready to start on time. She was fun, professional, and did a great job at making us feel at ease, by working diligently and yet taking her time to make sure everything was perfect. She listened to all of the feedback I had from my trial and adjusted things accordingly. My hair, makeup, and everything was exactly what I wanted! I felt beautiful! The company was very communicative throughout the process (consultation, booking, and the day of services) which was very important to me as the Bride working with so many vendors. Michelle and Kris were my hair stylist and makeup artist. They day of, they showed up on time and we all loved the final product. I had my hair down and curled, pinned on one side with a hair comb, with a matte finish makeup base, dramatic eyes and red lips. The rest of the Bridal Party primarily had their hair up with a modest make up base. All of it lasted throughout the night. They were very efficient, having pre-scheduled their time slots (staggered so there wasn't too much time in between). Most importantly, they were so easy to talk to, and joke around with. I though there would be awkward moments of silence but they contributed to the conversations like they were part of the group. Great experience and I would HIGHLY recommend. read more

Overall, the communication of the owner about pricing and services offered was great, I will definitely say that. Michelle (owner) was incredibly responsive and knowledgeable. My issue, if you will, came more so after I decided to move forward with another company for my hair/makeup services. I ended up selecting another company over Hairs 2 the Bride due to honestly one thing - previous experience. I was in a wedding last October that used the company that I went with, and they did great work. From having that personal experience, although the price was a little bit more than what Hairs 2 the Bride offered, that is who I chose to go with. Especially since I am an out of town bride, I would not have the time to come in and do trials. However, when I informed Hairs 2 the Bride that I would be going in another direction (and I did not specify what kind), I got the following response: "Most people that go in a different direction go with a freelancer that is not properly licensed not practice proper sanitary practices and leave Bride's high and dry on or before their big day. Hairs 2 the Bride, LLC is properly licensed and recognized by the state. We are classified as Master Stylist and only use top of the line products." I want to say that I did not choose a freelancer or a company that is not properly licensed. I chose a reputable company who I trust and have worked with before. Again, I didn't specify what I had done in my email I simply stated that I had gone in a different direction. If someone doesn't choose your business for XYZ reasons, I don't believe it is the most professional to continue to try and make a sales pitch and assume I had chosen someone who would leave me high and dry. read more

I chose Hairs 2 the Bride after knowing 3 brides that had used them for their wedding. Michelle and her team are all so kind and they make you feel so comfortable. Many times the morning of a wedding is filled with stress, but Michelle and her team create an environment that helps you just relax and enjoy the moment. I love the fact that they will travel to you which saves a lot of time since you and your bridal party don't need to be driving to a salon and back. Their prices are very reasonable and I like that they provide hair AND make-up services. I've been in weddings in the past where there are separate hair and make-up vendors and sometimes that creates issues with timing; however, with Hairs 2 the Bride they create a schedule based on all of the services and people in your party so there is no confusion. After looking through what seemed like endless companies for hair and make up I finally stumbled on to Hairs 2 the Bride. Michelle worked very closely with me to make sure I got what I was looking for. During my trial she informed me that my hair might be too long to get the look I really wanted, (which I already expected it to be). In the end I decided to have her cut my hair and I am glad I did because it was a beautiful cut. Then on the day of the wedding our hotel was supposed to give us a suite to get ready in but we ended up having to squeeze 13 people in a standard room. They were running a little late in the beginning but we finished at the agreed time, all of the ladies did a very good job dealing with the cramped space we were given and all of my bridal party looked awesome! For the most part, I was very impressed with Michelle and Hairs 2 the Bride. Her communication was fast and thorough, and she was very patient with all of my questions. When my coordinator told Michelle that our timeline had changed, and the original HMU artist scheduled for me would be unavailable, Michelle stepped in to do my HMU herself and quickly rescheduled my trial (which was the next day) to be with her. During the trial, she was very receptive to feedback and understood exactly what kind of look I wanted. Leading up to the wedding, scheduling the rest of the hair/makeup services was very smooth. However, she was two hours late on my wedding day. There was a parade near the downtown Chicago hotel, and many roads were closed. (But my other vendors coming to the hotel, florist and photographer, were right on time.) Once she and her team arrived, they did a fabulous job and miraculously got me done in time for pictures. I don't want to discount the impressive quality of Michelle's work (especially under extreme time pressure). I've never had so many people gush about how beautiful I looked. Michelle and her assistant were great for my wedding in March. Not only was she affordable, but she was very flexible with scheduling trials for both my mother (who was very nervous about finding someone to do her hair) and myself. She runs a small salon out of her home and it has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. You really feel like you're being taken care of by a person, not a company/business. She was also one of the most affordable stylists that I found who was willing to do onsite hair and makeup for my wedding. I highly recommend her! read more

I was straggling to write this review and didn't want to do it at all but I probably need to add my comment and explain why it is not a well rated review. First of all, I got lucky to have my friend who was basically telling Liz (the woman who did my makeup and hair) how she needs to do it and what she needs to change/add, it was not very clean makeup at all. She was not very creative at all, one of my friend is Asian and she requires a different approach with her makeup, she didn't think about it at all and the color of lipstick she used for my bridesmaids....one of them went to the bathroom right away to take it off...too bright and crazy....my photographer was at this moment with us and even she told me that I need to correct my eyes because it looks uneven. The worse part of this service was the eye makeup that she did to my mom. I asked her to do a very light makeup, when I looked in 5 min at my mom, I didn't know what to say at all....it was ridiculous. I was not able to handle it and told her right away that she needs to redo it!!! I wish I have a picture of this disaster. Last part: my hair. I did a trial and it was good, on the day of the wedding she was not organize and in a hurry to finish with me so she didn't do a good job with making sure that it is fixed and would be able to stay as it is for the whole day. Unfortunately, I couldn't attached the picture where you can see that after 10-15 min of me walking out of the room it is not perfect and ruined. My friend who is getting married next year was planning to use them for her wedding told me next day that she changed her opinion and I am happy with this decision, don't want her to have the same experience. read more

They are professional and are composed of a wonderful team of stylists that come to your house/hotel/etc to help you get ready for the most important day of your life. I unfortunately was late in booking with Hairs 2 the Bride, I made the mistake of booking with Fifth Avenue on Location. They dropped me a WEEK before the wedding because they gave me too many discounts and couldn't afford to send stylists. (See my review on their page for details). Fortunately though, Hairs 2 the Bride was able to make it work; H2tB even fit in a trial run with me! The week of the wedding! Michelle is the owner and she moved around things for me to be able to try out my look. She worked with my goals/hopes of what I wanted to look for on my wedding day and blew me out of the water! I couldn't have asked for a better stylist team. They sincerely worked incredibly hard and were so nice, genuine, and friendly the whole time! The hair and makeup looked amazing on everyone! H2tB provides amazing service at an unbeatable cost (they were cheaper than Fifth Avenue but had higher quality products and services).
