This place is a joke. Stay away. I came in at 3pm and told raymond that I needed a haircut. He had asked me if I had an appointment and I said no. After 2 hours of waiting, they ask me again if I have an appointment? Was I not clear enough the first time in which you had nodded your head in agreement? I wasted my time just to be told to wait even longer. I left without getting a haircut. Save your money and go somewhere else. I'm always nervous to go anywhere new for my hair but Susan was fantastic. She knew exactly what my hair needed and encouraged me to try new things. Made an appointment for my daughter at 530pm. She was very excited to get her hair done at a salon. Got there and there was only one employee who said that whoever made the appointment is gone and he was booked for the night. A bad experience. If they don't keep appointments and don't bother informing customers, then I don't know how careful they will be with actually cutting hair. I understand things happen sometimes, but the employee that was there said he doesn't know anything. Elaine reached out to me and said she had the appt scheduled for Tuesday and apologized. Purchased a groupon and gave it a try - will never return. Actually, wouldn't have even stayed but I already paid for the groupon. Lady was very difficult on the phone & when I came in she asked me all the questions she already asked me on the phone even though I told her I was there for the appt I made so I figured she'd just look at the books - what do you want done? can anyone cut your hair? you want a shampoo? oh, you have a groupon? etc. Place was FILTHY. This made me not want to even enter. Hair on the floor around the first three chairs and only one of the chairs had someone actually getting their haircut. Then when I asked where I could put my bag & things while getting my hair washed I tried putting it on the counter under the mirror but it was full of junk & clutter - including hair dye that was still laying out and even a glove laying on the floor from coloring someone's hair! Looking around, the entire place was cluttered & gross. Moving on to shampooing.... the place is so crowded the lady cutting hair right by my legs tripped over me when I was laying there getting shampooed and I had to move my legs again to let an elderly lady through the walkway. At other salons this is always the most relaxing part, not the most stressful. The place was so chaotic there was nothing relaxing about my experience. Haircut wasn't even good - its a get you in and get you out kind of place. Just wanted out of there so bad I didn't even care. Not even worth the discounted price I payed on Groupon. read more

Terrible! I bought a Groupon to come in and have my hair toned. The gentleman had absolutely no idea what he was doing! My hair came out so botchy. It looked like a big blonde mess! I stumbled upon this gem of a salon a little over 6 months ago, and I am so glad I did! I was looking for a new salon since mine was very expensive. I found Style salon on Groupon and decided to give it a go! Now I get full highlights and a cut included by Vicky regularly for only $65, who does an outstanding job. Do not go to this salon. Other stylists might be fine here, but avoid Vicky. I asked her for a balayage. She did NOT blend the blonde whatsoever, instead I was left with harsh, severe lines across my hair. I also felt she was rushing the entire time I was there. I genuinely think she had absolutely NO idea what she was doing and just tried to pass it off. I left the salon but returned shortly after demanding to have it fixed after realizing how unhappy I was with it. I asked her to blend the blonde better to get rid of the harsh lines, and I would be happy. It was difficult to convince her to fix it for me, but she eventually agreed. Her solution to fixing it was to blend a color matching my roots across the lines to break them up. I'm pretty sure she dyed all of my roots without asking me or telling me while I was at the sink so as to avoid the new color mismatching my natural color. Again, she rushed through this process, and there were still very visible lines in my hair when she was done. At this point, I was so done I just left. Going to a different salon tomorrow to have this corrected and it can't be soon enough. This is a TERRIBLE salon, with incompetent "stylists", and they are extremely sketchy. I got my hair done here a month ago. I purchased the groupon for a haircut, all over color, and style. I made an appointment early May and decided to get my hair a reddish color. Raymond did my hair. He was nice but he barely talked and I was falling asleep. The place is a bit small. Mostly older people go here to get get their hair done. Anyway, Raymond colored my hair first and then cut it. It came out a dark red not really the color I wanted. My hair became really hard to comb, I think it died. It was literally natural when I went in and I haven't died my hair in like 5 months so I went in with fresh Virgin hair. He probably used cheap dye. I feel bad giving an ok review because the people were very nice but my hair or cut didn't really come out how I wanted and he cut a lot of my hair off and it wasn't how I wanted either. The groupon was cheap though so I guess you get what you pay for. Sadly, I probably won't be returning. read more

so I purchased a Groupon for this Salon monthsss ago. It was for a wash, haircut, and style. I decided to use it before it expires in December. I never checked their yelp reviews literally until an hour before my appointment. And when I did.....I almost started regretting it. I saw so many horrible reviews on this place and I didn't know what to do anymore. So I walk in already expecting the worst BUT, I ended up having an amazing experience! I had to wait about 20 minutes after my appointment but I completely understood because there was only 1 person that was allowed to take care of Groupon deals and he was busy at the moment. I forgot his name but he handled my hair with great care and cut my hair just the way I wanted it. I'm happy with the results and I hope people will read my review and disregard the other bad reviews this place got. read more

After reading all of the reviews, I decided to give this place a try. I usually go to a Great Clips but after having a couple of bad haircuts in a row, it was time for a change. With that being said, I was welcomed right away. The lady who cut my hair was very sweet and kind to me. She understood what I wanted and gave me nothing but the best. I am definitely coming back!!! Terrible service. The stylist wouldn't cut & style my hair because I had "too much hair." She was rude, do not recommend this place.

First I called & the man on the other end said they were packed & couldn't guarantee how long it would take. I explained my daughter just needed a trim & asked what the price would be. The guy told me $10. I took my chances based on + reviews & headed straight over since my daughter was 3 inches of split ends overdue. When I got there only the two chairs were busy. I waited 15 minutes then my 10 year old took a seat. The lady asked what she needed & I proceeded to tell her about 3 " off the ends and that she really didn't have a "style" going on. I assumed she would wet it maybe also trim the frays around her hair. What she did was take the scissors and just cut straight across the bottom. I just watched & waited to see what she was doing. Four chops & she said she was done. Ok! She charged me $12 and I ran out. read more

I'm not familiar with the work she does for women, but if you want a quick, good, inexpensive haircut, this is a good place to become a regular. I just got my hair colored today just about a few hours ago and I was nervous because I first saw an advertisement of this salon on Groupon. It's right next to Milikan HS if you're from the Long Beach area. First I came on Tuesday to get an estimate of how much it would cost to color my hair blonde and I was told it would be an affordable price. So I made an appt for the following Thursday at 5 pm. So fast forward to present time and I am enjoying the results of Susan's work. Usually it would take about 3+ hours to do my hair but she got it done in a record time of about 2 hrs. I was amazed. I love my bayalage by Elaine. It was a two step process since I've dyed my hair so many times. I wanted something easy for maintenance. It's exactly what I wanted. My hair is very long and super thick, so Cindy had to cut and style my hair because Elaine had another appt. I didn't mind. I told her it was fine. I went way over 3 hours. Plus I scheduled the appt. only a day in advance. She came in early for me. Elaine was super nice, and I felt like she gave me 100% attention. It always takes like a long time to do my hair. This is definitely an "OK" salon. When I walked in here, Susan was very welcoming and asked if I needed a haircut. This was my first time here and a man with blonde hair cut my hair. I was positioned at an angle, so I couldn't see directly in the mirror or what he was doing to my hair. And at the very end of the haircut, he didn't ask me if it looked good or if I wanted any changes. I was upset because I felt rushed when I asked him to blend in my sides A LOT more because they were uneven. When he attempted to fix it, he did it without precision and rushed right through my request. In the end, I was honestly ticked off. $12 for this haircut? uhh better not. This place is definitely more of a salon and than a barber shop. So If you have long hair then this is definitely the place for you. ps: this is personally through my own first experience here at this salon. It's been a while since my first visit here when I used a Groupon voucher to get my hair done by Elaine. I was very happy with the service and results then. However, I still decided to shop around for another stylist using Groupon deals. I had a couple of good experiences, but weren't worth it to continue seeing, especially as their regular price was doubled or even more than the Groupon price. Then I recently came across the Groupon deal for Style Salon again and decided to give it another try. Elaine did not disappoint .. I really like her and her service .. she knows exactly what I want! Not the best place to go for a hair cut. When I told the guy, I believe Raymond, that I had a Groupon he looked annoyed which I thought that was pretty rude. If you don't like the Groupon then take it off and don't let me spend my money on a crappy hair cut. He did my hair cut pretty fast, but I swear the Groupon was wash, condition, cut, and style but he basically let me walk out with wet hair. Then when I went home and styled it myself I found out that it was SUPER choppy... the layers were not even and it did not look cute at all . I was quite disappointed in my haircut. But I guess you get what you pay for Pretty much DONT GO HERE unless maybe you get one of the other hair stylist. I'm sure they'd take time and care how you look. read more

I have posted some dramatic before and after pics, but you should know I had no idea what I wanted, I asked him to please use his experience and expertise to give me a flattering professional cut, and as you can see he chose the perfect color and highlights, and I really love the cut. How brave was he to cut off all that hair too? I already scheduled my next appointment, but I didn't have to. They take walk-ins too, but i was there 2 hours and the place was pretty busy. I'm super disappointed. Especially because hair is a big thing in my life. I just wanted a simple dye. Lighter brown. I had my old highlights in my hair. My stylist blamed me after the first dye session that I didn't mention I had highlights in my hair because the results came out and I had my roots a different color to the rest of my hair. But how is that my fault if you were the one dying my hair? Shouldn't you have seen it? Anyways he redid my hair. This time my highlights were no longer seen because he dyes it again. But now after the 2nd time my roots are lighter than the rest of my hair. Then he continues by cutting my hair. The cut is ok. I still paid for the service, but now I won't be coming back. And now have to find another salon to fix my hair. I'm really unhappy. read more
