I've been to at least 4 salons while living here and they were all 'meh.' So the last place I cut my hair was in Denver. Loved it however flying to Denver to just cut my hair is not sustainable! Services: I came here to see Kayla and she did a marvelous job! I have naturally dark hair cause i am Asian and i just don't like the way Asian hair turns into that orange/bronze color when you bayalage it or lighten it. Kayla used the color wheel to get past those colors i don't like and it took 4 hours! We did baby lights. Worth the 4 hours! It would not fade into those colors I don't like either. I also got a haircut and she did a splendid job. I felt so pretty and young. Most of all, my husband loves my new hair! Vibes: all positive ones. Kayla offered me wine, coffee, or water at the beginning and during the middle of my hair being processed. I declined cause your girl has a small bladder. Otherwise I would have totally enjoyed the compliments! I figure my post can probably help my Asian gals out there with darker hair especially if you wanted to bring some color without that orange look, now you know where to go! Happy pampering!

It's basically the street next to the Shell Gas station on Manchester Rd East which only runs one way once you pass over 270. So each stylist has their own loft studio which is private the location houses various private waiting areas throughout. It is a really unique concept and experience. It allows for each stylist to style their own suit to their taste. Since I have naturally curly hair, 3b/4a. I have been searching for a stylist whom specializes in curly hair, all types and textures and whom uses quality products. So I went to see Casey Cook today because she specializes in curly hair and she uses Deva Curl products. I have never used Deva Curl products but I have seen and heard good things about the line. The Deva Curl product line is silicone, paraben and sulfate-free and is said to be easy-to-use. I received a cut, wash, condition and style today. Casey is extremely personable, chill, gentle, extremely professional and knowledgeable. She went over every process with me step by step and showed me. I was able to see step-by-step how the products transformed my hair. It was a great experience for me and my hair overall. I will definately be returning for future maintenance for sure. And the best thing was the price. My visit was $65 and I ended up purchasing all 4 products used on my hair. I would definately refer anyone whom has any type of naturally curly hair: wavy, curly and super curly to Casey.

I'm not one of those clients who needs one specific stylist every single time. I just expect basic communication, decent service, and for my appointment to actually make sense when I arrive. Coordination! Unfortunately, the vibe here has always felt off The front desk is rarely welcoming. Half the time, no one greets you, acknowledges you, or makes you feel like they are happy you're there. The energy can feel very cliquey, dismissive, and honestly kind of performative. It gives "we're all a family here," but somehow the client is not included in the family. I've overlooked a lot because I liked the actual hair services. I've waited 30 minutes past my appointment time before. I've had appointments moved around. One time, I was sent to the Webster Groves location, got there, and was then told I actually needed to go to Des Peres because they could not take me. Like...okay gas?? But today was what officially did it for me. I booked a root touch-up before a photo shoot tomorrow and a trip next week. I sent pictures and a description of what I wanted directly to the stylist beforehand. I've also had this exact type of service done through this salon multiple times, usually for around $250, so this was not some random mystery appointment. I arrived and waited around 30 minutes to be assisted, only to then be told it would cost over $400. And to be very clear, I am not asking anyone to lower their prices, undervalue their work, or change their hourly rate for me. Charge whatever you charge. That is fully your business. My issue is: why was none of this communicated nor coordinated before I showed up? You had my appointment details. You had the pictures. You had my description. You had my client history from the past two years. If the service was now going to cost almost twice what I normally paid, or if I had supposedly booked the wrong category, somebody should have figured that out before I arrived, waited 30 minutes, and left with absolutely nothing done. Even the stylist seemed surprised by how I had apparently been charged or categorized during previous appointments, which honestly just made the whole situation feel even more disorganized. That is an internal coordination issue, not something that should suddenly become the client's emergency while they are sitting in the chair So now I have a photo shoot tomorrow, a trip next week, and no hair did or done because this salon could not communicate beforehand. After nearly two years of being a loyal client, I'm done overlooking the rude front desk energy, the scheduling confusion, the long waits, and the constant lack of coordination. The actual talent may be there, but the overall experience is not. I will not be coming back. Respectfully, the vibes are not worth $400+.

When I set the appt I asked for Taryn as that was who I was recommended to. She is a curly specialist and WOW was she knowledgeable. Overall my experience with her was top notch. Taryn gave me an overview of what would happen during the appointing and has a big focus on client education. She walked me through every step and every product. Note: I am sensitive to scents due to having migraines and she was so respectful of this. Taryn had me smell the hairbath and conditioner to make sure it was not too strong before we even started. Taryn told me about the products and how and why you use them including the order and what they do for you. She educated me on how to get your curls looking your best. Overall, if you have curly or wavy hair and want to know how to take care of it and what it could look like at its best - GO HERE NOW! The education alone is worth every dollar!!! She began my apt right before 4pm and I didn't leave till 8:30. While it's clear that Victoria knows curly hair like the back of her hand (and IS the curl care expert), a four hour haircut isn't an awesome sounding time commitment for anyone. I booked a follow up appointment for a few months from now - hopefully this time it won't be so time consuming!
