We opted for the pedicure, which included a 10-minute massage. Staff use a timer to ensure they don't go over or under the allotted time limit. Service was good, the staff were very friendly and offered water bottles or other beverages while we had our nails trimmed, cleaned and painted. They have OPI and Essie brands, as well as some other choices, in a wide variety of colors. Happy with the selection and the pedicure. It's been a few days now of wearing open-toe sandals, including a whole day of walking around Brooklyn as a tourist, and my pedicure is still holding up. read more

When they say "spa pedicure", they mean it! I had the green tea spa pedicure and I felt like my new feet were too good to go in my old shoes. From the time I walked in, everyone was friendly, accommodating and definitely deserved five stars for customer service. The young lady who did my pedicure was great! She removed my crusty toenail polish, shaped my nails and put my feet in the wash basin. Whoa! What is this green gel-like substance? Who knows? Who cares?! That sh*t was amazing. She exfoliated from my knees to my toes and plastic wrapped my legs in a green tea hydrating mask for about ten minutes. Somewhere in here there was paraffin (:-D). And then.......... she rubbed my feet and calves for ten minutes. Ten minutes. Ten beautiful minutes (dramatic tear). Plus, for the ENTIRE time I was there, someone was always cleaning and disinfecting something -- the pedicure chairs, the drying stations, something! I live all the way in Harlem and I'm sure there are hundreds of nail salons between the Harlem and Park Slope. But my little toes will be coming here on a regular basis. read more

Don't let this plain Jane store name fool you because service here is spectacular. It was my first time getting a gel manicure/any manicure - I know, how embarrassing - and I did some thorough research before deciding on 'Stylist Nail & Spa' from a sea of nail salon pickings in Manhattan and Brooklyn. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted, seated, and my coat hanged for me. I was offered water, tea, or coffee. I noticed they also carried wine and Naked juice- how fancy schmancy! My hands were given a wipe down, filing, cuticle cutting and sanding. They were then placed inside a keratin lotion/treatment glove to smooth things out. Whilst my nails were drying under the machine, I was given a lovely neck and back massage. Overall, I was very impressed with the service, cleanliness, quality of product, and care offered at Stylish. My nails couldn't have looked better. Great experience! I'm only disappointed in myself for being so late to the manicure game. $35 for gel, $15 for regular polish. read more

Have had mixed experiences here, went earlier this afternoon and got a Lemon Spa Pedicure ($78) and overall had a good experience until I left. I asked if my nails were dry as I was wearing boots and it was confirmed but when I removed the plastic wrap all nails were smudged with plastic wrap. I would of stayed longer to dry more but was assured it would be fine so left. In addition to further examination, a few toe nails were crooked and uneven for the price point i should of checked beforehand but just assumed they were all set. This nail salon fits my 2 musts: cleanliness and attention to detail. They change liners in the pedi stations and also use a new set of tools and files for each customer. Huge selection of polish and everything is neatly organized and kept clean. I didn't get the names of any of my nail techs but I've been here twice and both times I've been really happy with my gel polish (the first polish lasted 3 weeks with no lifting!) When asked why they didn't subtract that from my bill, she went totally crazy on me and would not listen to me or discuss it at all. I can't believe how terrible the customer service was. I must admit, if i'm going to pay $45+ on a gel manicure my expectations are high. Why? because I can travel to Flatbush and spend $21 for the same service... I tried this place based on reviews and although the customer service was amazing and the employees are nice, their technique is not worth the price. I walked in with a design in mind and the nail tech pushed me away from getting one because she couldn't find the exact color, okay that's fine. Upon doing the gel manicure a woman walked in with two of her nails completely gel free, although she did it the day before. I was shocked, but figured cool, we didn't have the same nail tech all should be fine. haha. nope. Within 2-3 days my gel started chipping...There was a moment when I told the tech, I would like to leave my nails under the light longer and she said no, but I should of... my nails were done really poor :( read more

I have been struggling about whether to post a review but here we go.. I have been going to Stylish once a month for the last year. I definitely think they do good work, and I appreciate how meticulous each technician has been. They also take time pushing back and cutting cuticles, instead of rushing through it as I hold my breath and pray not to be cut in the process, as it often happens in other nails places. This review, however, is about their customer service. After about my third time going there, I started noticing how they'd offer beverages to other customers but I was never offered one. It wasn't like I expected to have a beverage or anything but it was odd that I have not been asked even once. I guess I should have asked for it if I really wanted a tea or something, but I don't understand why I have been treated differently. Then my last time there, the woman working on my nails and the manager (assumed) were outright yelling at each other in Chinese. This went on the entire time I was getting my manicure. It was super unprofessional- you had customers in the shop!! And even if you assumed we couldn't understand you (which I could.. so made it even more awkward), we all could tell you were bickering by the tone and volume. SO.. I wanted French but to be honest the girl did not know how to do it, the lines were very crooked so I wound up doing a gel manicure and the color wasn't even what I wanted. I never willingly returned, because for $40, I walked out with BUBBLES on my nails that I was constantly told would vanish. That was $40 down the drain! I went there yesterday, telling myself that perhaps that one time I got a bad bottle of nail polish. Yet, once again, I was about to walk out with BUBBLE NAIL!!! I pointed out the bubble on a nail and it was quietly fixed. Why though, for $35 before tip, should it be MY JOB to point out bubbles on a gel manicure??? Also, well-done gel manicures that last beyond two weeks typically only take 15 minutes to do. Here, it takes a good hour! If you need to spend an hour getting your nails done, it is a better deal to consolidate your errands, hop on the train, get off at Union Square, and get your gel manicure done on Third Avenue near 16th Street in the 10003 zip code (I will provide a name of a good place that has been providing good service consistently between December 2018 and November 2016 ASAP). I had a great experience here! It was my first time and I'll definitely be back. My boyfriend lives around the block and it's such a perfect location but on top of that they were so nice and did a great and thorough job. When I came in I was offered a beverage and got water but they had a lot of options. Then my girl who did my nails was very careful and took her time on my gel nails and getting my nails ready. I've been coming to Stylish Nails for a couple of months now to get gel manicures and gel pedicures when most of the time they've done an amazing job, superbly courteous staff, taking the upmost care in each job they've done for me, but this last time I went (nearly 2 weeks ago) left me quite disappointed. Even though the girl who did my gel mani/gel pedicure was absolutely super sweet (like everyone employed here), the gel polish which would normally last 2-3 weeks didnt make it to one week on my finger nails and when I looked at my toes the polish wasn't smooth at all. It had also turned a weird color considering it was OPI, I'm hoping maybe that particular polish had gone bad because I really liked this place. They even give you a free complementary drink of choice (I got green tea). Also the nail technicians attention to my nails made the service even better, she asked after each nail if I liked the shape and made sure all the little bumps were gone before starting to paint. This salon is hands down the best one in Park Slope. Outstanding customer service from the second you walk in. The staff is incredibly kind & their work is perfection. They offer a wide range of colors, both polish and gel and they also don't charge extra for the two week polish (they carry both Essie and OPI). Quick dry is also another free perk which is great because most salons charge extra for it. I've been coming here since it first opened and the owner, Ashley, is incredibly sweet. She goes out of her way to remember familiar faces and greets everyone with a smile. They do excellent work here - my manicures from this salon last longer than any I've ever gotten. They do not offer acrylic but I don't mind that because I never use it anyway. The salon is incredibly tidy and they have prepackaged disposable sets of nail files, buffers, and cuticle sticks so they never use the same ones twice. I was in the neighborhood tried this place due to the high reviews. The nail lady made all my nails different shapes and sizes, and seemed to be confused when I tried explaining that it didn't match. After this initial interaction is when the experience at Stylish Nail & Spa is different and much more pleasant than your average nail salon. The employees who work there are nice and don't make you feel like you are invading a private conversation. They offer you complimentary tea, water, or other (non alcoholic) beverage. They are also attentive to you in general at an appropriate level. I got a standard manicure and pedicure and the woman who worked on me was very gentle with both my hands and feet, and her color application was flawless. Their nail polish selection is robust and carry many of the expected brand, but also have brands like Chanel. The prices are also reasonable and when I came here with my pregnant friend, they gave her a discount since she was not getting any color. I highly recommend this nail salon, it was a pleasant, comfortable and relaxing experience with the end result of perfect nails. read more

The technician cut my skin on my ring finger while I was getting gel mani yesterday. It bled for about 10 minutes and she just said 'Sorry' once. I said it was ok because I knew it was an accident and people make mistakes. Though my finger still hurts and there is still blood after 24 hours. But when I was paying, I guess it was her boss/manager, she told me to tip in cash but I forgot to bring cash so I had to tip on my credit card. I said I was sorry but the boss kept raising her voice saying I needed to bring cash for tip, etc and didn't even say 'Thank you' when I was leaving. I do not understand how this place has a semi-good rating on yelp, I'm not sure if I just had a particularly bad technician when I went, but my experience was horrible. I looked this place up beforehand and the reviews were good so I took the time to drive out to park slope to try a new place. I walked in after calling to make an appointment and they didn't even know what I was talking about when I mentioned my appointment. I've never had a worse nail tech. She cut my nails so short that she cut the nail bed underneath and continued to do so even after I yelped in pain. Continued to roughly handle my hands in a painful manner and didn't even do a good job shaping my nail or pushing back the cuticles. She charged me extra for fixing a nail w silk wrap which she called a uv gel fill??? And then proceeded to glue an entire square inch of silk wrap over my nail and glue it to my surrounding skin and then tried to pick it off after it had already set. Then it was bumpy and crass so she covered it in a layer of hard gel which made it even thicker and gross. Badly painted on 3 coats of polish that was uneven with trapped air bubbles. So unhappy, never coming back. I could do a better job for free. read more

Just moved to the neighborhood and am so glad to have found this salon. Very clean and hygienic - they use single use tools and sanitize the non-disposable tools. They line the pedicure basins which is nice too. Great attention to detail, from offering a drink to providing a basket for your bag, to helping you with your coat and zippers before you leave.
