4 of us came here for drinks and dinner. Friends have raved about Su Casa. Chips and Salsa have to be ordered. Each of us had something different and everything was delicious. Two of us had their special Margaritas with orange liqueur that you can add. So good! The only reason for 4 instead of 5 starts was the fact we had to order our chips and salsa and the Chicken tortilla soup had cherry tomatoes cut in half instead of any carrots. Cherry tomatoes just don't work in this soup and it was very disappointing. We will definitely come back. The service from Lily was incredible! She was very attentive, but never intrusive. Fryday night dinner with friends in patio. It was very hot and flies are an issue. We had to use napkins to keep them out of our wine. Lovely patio area. At 6 pm sun was behind building and it was an overly warm heat wave night but just tolerable with my wine in a large glass and ice. They have Vognier which was lovely. We had chips salsa which was good. The guac one if the group ordered us a tiny cup. I had grilled fish tacos. I added salt to the fish as it had no seasoning. So bland. In but a fan of mango in my food. The beans were great and the rice is different and really good. It's $26 for fish taco plate which I guess I felt was high But I thought the entire menu was priced high. I think it's considered upscale Mexican so prices reflect that. We celebrated a birthday so my friend had a free flan with candle and singing. Then the manager came out with tequila and did a shot with her. Overall we enjoyed the meal except for the night being so hot as it was a heat wave week. It usually cools off evenings in Paso. Some outdoor ceiling fans would have been nice and may have helped keep away flies. But I will go back again. I hadn't been there for several years since it opened. I ordered a veggie burrito, as I am vegan. I'm not sure if they cobbled something together or if this is a regular item, but it's possibly the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten. The burrito was soggy and tasted like the filling was made out of canned vegetable soup. The rice was ok, but nothing could compensate for the terrible burrito, and for how sick I've felt since I ate it. Such a welcoming place, the staff greeted us right away. We sat by the bar it was nicely lit giving off a nice chill vibe. My husband and I shared a mango margarita.. He had the Chicken Mole dinner and I had the Chile Verde dinner both were delicious. We will definitely be back. read more

A Disappointing Experience at a Once-Favorite Spot This restaurant has been my go-to stop whenever I traveled between LA and my hometown--until today. We arrived for lunch, excited to enjoy a meal, but the experience was far from what I've come to expect. Upon entering, the server didn't acknowledge us at all. After a moment, we asked if we could sit anywhere, to which she responded "yes." We waited patiently, but after a few minutes, we watched her attend to a table that had just arrived. It seemed like she was the only server, but that didn't feel like a valid excuse for the lack of attention. After waiting for a while with no further communication, we decided to leave. I was unsure of how spicy the chilli verde was and she offered to bring me a sample. I thought that was incredibly considerate. First night in Paso and we decided to eat at Su Casa and we were not disappointed. I had the Enchilada and Taco combo. This plate comes with rice and beans. Everything was delicious. Probably the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever had the misfortune to visit. I grew up in Santa Barbara and know good Mexican food,(and bad!)The staff was over worked so the service was slow and inattentive. The food was bland,tastless and served barely warm - sent mine back and it came back at least 10 minutes later and was still barely above room temperature.One of our party made the mistake of getting the taco salad and was so ill that night they very nearly couldn't go to work the next day. All I can say is unbelievable that they can stay in business! Truly an awful dining experience. I highly recommend you eat anywhere else- they really don't deserve the one star I am giving them! read more

Aida is an amazing host! They accommodated a large party by offering a buffet option with less than a weeks notice and an additional 2 guests at the last minute. The food was great and their salsa is outstanding. You'll fill up on chips quickly just to have more salsa. The place is family friendly so grab everyone and get down there. Excellent, authentic tasting Mexican food. Our waitress, Blake, was exceptional and well versed with the menu. I ended up ordering the camarones diabla and it was incredible! Spicy, but not overly so, with a generous portion of shrimp, fresh vegetables and beans. I didn't order the rice because I thought it would be the typical Spanish red rice, but my husband did and it was more like a cilantro lime rice and he loved it. The restaurant has a homey feel with a lot of family-style seating. The only downside was that if the restaurant were full, there might not be adequate seating. Our family loves the Sunday brunch buffet and my wife loves the mimosas. The food and selection is great and for $20 I don't have to choose between one or the other on the menu. I get to have a bit of everything I am wanting at the moment. It has great Mexican food as well as typical breakfast items. Some delicious French toast. Ceviche, pasole, enchiladas, chili relleno, deserts. It goes on and on. Simply delicious. Love it. The service is friendly and the staff is great. Nice comfortable spacious dining room. We will be a repeat offender of Su Casa! Clean, friendly staff, large capacity dining and awesome patio area.... Parking? No problem.. behind the building is a good sized parking lot with plenty of space. My husband had the combo fajitas and I had the Mole. Oh my GOODNESS.... Get the chips and salsa it won't disappoint! The flavor infusions and spices are nothing short of perfection. The Mole was incredible, that perfect.. sweet, savory, spice. My creature of habit husband found the cilantro lime rice a perfect addition to his fajitas. Ernesto our server was kind and attentive. The food was delivered in what I consider quick... and it all tasted hot and fresh... I highly recommend this establishment and know it is locally owned and operated. We've been here multiple times now. We try to come when we're in Paso on a weekend day to attend winery tastings or events. The bar area is very cozy, and the staff is friendly. The food is excellent and plentiful as is the drink selection. They are only open for dinner except Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. read more

Just moved to town and got this recommendation, food was fabulous, drinks were great and it is family owned. I don't know what else you could ask for in a restaurant! Somebody pinch me! Hadn't had a bite all day, passing through hungry and thirsty, so I desperately searched Yelp for a Mexican Oasis. We were going to eat light because we still had a 4 hour drive ahead. That plan went out the window when greeted by our fairy hostess' sparkling smile and sweet voice, "There's our Sunday buffet Brunch for $20 and $5 mimosas". We beheld the feast before us, too much to list, and were piling our plates with the best of everything Mexican cuisine. Chile rellenos, my favorite. They were small with very light batter, a nice pasilla pepper filled with just the right amount of cheese. So I took three. Yes, three. This was magical. You could eat the Chile verde without teeth, juicy, tender, flavorful. I even tasted hubby's cheese enchiladas which I normally don't like but in this utopia, they were incredible! Pozole, yes! Ceviche, fresh and plentiful! Heavy on the shrimp, plus white fish (no imitation crab). Delicious flan and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. I have been here before and was very satisfied. We went for dinner (3 of us) tonight. I had the combo plate with a chile relleno and cheese enchilada, beans, chips, salsa, and iced tea. The chile rellenos and cheese enchilada were good, but the texture and taste of the torilla chips were sub par. The beans had the consistency and taste of Rosarita's canned refries. The server said they're made in-house, but if they are then the chef must be making them just like Rosarita does. LOL. They were thick, totally mushed, barely warm, and the cheese on top was not even melted. Very disappointing, as they were the worst I have had outside of a can. I have been wanting to try this restaurant in Paso Robles for a while now. From its social media and posted pictures it looked fun and always wanting to find good Mexican food in the area (ie sit down have a margarita and food type place). Finally had a chance and was Very happy with the visit. The food was great. We ordered a large plate of Nachos and it cam out warm and all the ingredients blended together well. Also the finishing touches were spot on and the sauces were drizzled for a good presentation and nice additional flavor. It was even better when we dug into the food and would say this may have been my favorite nachos. Need to try again to confirm ;) The service was great too. We came in late afternoon when slow and only the bartender was waiting on us. Very attentive and personable. Lastly, really enjoyed the decoration and lighting (like the blue lights) and not overdone. It seems like a great place to have a margarita and hang out with some friends.
