Bedroom, you can see the beach from bed!

Kyle made our weekend and gave us such a beautiful room. He went over and beyond and is truly appreciated. Oscar, we appreciate all your help unloading our bags and grocery's helping me when I forgot my key and just being so kind to us. Housekeep was equally wonderful and keeps the rooms and hotel so clean. The staff is extremely kind. This is our new getaway. We highly recommend you stay here you will not be disappointed. I'll make sure to state this review only speaks to our experience at Su Casa and won't include the sad state Venice Beach is in, along with a lot of LA's surrounding areas right now--but as a local, I'll just say this was such a pleasant and amazing getaway! We celebrated my daughter's birthday and, from booking the room to check-in and throughout the stay, Kyle at Su Casa was incredible. I never expected such friendly and helpful assistance when we were booking a local two days away from home after the grueling pandemic. I think the thing to point out is that this hotel is steps away from the sand and beach. Are you also steps away from all of the homeless living on the beach, and also what seemed to be a men's recovery home next door? Honestly, yes--but welcome to LA! And as locals, it's more about how safe I felt there and never once felt regret in booking such a quaint and lovely hotel room at a great price. We wanted Venice Beach and not Santa Monica, so I think we picked the absolute best place to stay The room was lovely and clean. Parking nearby was also convenient and affordable, again, for LA. Having a kitchen, stocked with everything we needed, including a full sink, microwave and stovetop, was awesome--rare. But it truly was the personable help Kyle offered, I have to say, that made this feel more like a small town casa, rather than just a hotel. Thanks so much!

Marijuana smoke. Do not book it if you have kids. On Thursday, December 30th, 2021, we checked in to Su Casa at Venice Beach around 7pm (see Figure 3), having reserved a two-night stay in Room #11, a second-story room with a beach view, via Expedia on 12/20 (see Figure 2). The entire hotel had been advertised as "smoke-free" (see Figure 1), which was very important to us since we were traveling with an infant and another young child. With the help of the hotel staff, we had begun carrying our luggage up the stairs to the room when we noticed the smell of what seemed to be stale marijuana smoke. It was quite strong on the second floor, and so strong in the room itself that it made us uncomfortable. We stayed in the room for a few minutes, after which our throats and eyes were beginning to hurt. We then went downstairs to the desk to discuss the smell with the hotel staff, spending at least fifteen minutes there before returning to the room to see if we were willing to stay. The smell of smoke was as strong as ever the second time we visited the room, and we do not believe it would have dissipated before all of us were feeling miserable. We do not know whether the previous occupant had smoked in the room, whether it was coming from elsewhere in the building through the ventilation system, or whether (as the staff claimed) the smoke originated from the outside the hotel, but it was in any case not a "smoke-free" room at that time, and not a place we could stay with our kids. As it was getting late and the hotel staff seemed unwilling to issue a refund, we chose to end our vacation early rather than check into a different hotel and pay for another room, canceling our reservation through Expedia (see Figure 4) and driving home the same night. It was a five-hour trip back to San Jose.

What AMAZING place to stay at Venice Beach! This location is perfect ...just at the start of the boardwalk and within a short scooter or bike ride to the Santa Monica pier. We checked in later than expected due to a late flight and were so thankful the owner waited for us, helped with our luggage and ensured we were settled before closing up thanks Kyle!! Our room was perfect, super comfortable bed, a nice kitchen space allowing for cooking and eating, a living room area PERFECT to sit with a morning mimosa and watch the waves come in, a large bathroom with plenty of hot water and doors to close off areas for privacy. There is a restaurant directly below that makes grabbing a quick meal a super convenience. The hustle and bustle of the boardwalk wasnt much of a bother at all and we came for the experience to be on the boardwalk. The staff during our stay were just all so great. Brian always made sure we had everything we needed daily and helped with directions to get around. When we were leaving I said I had wished our room had a balcony as I was chatting with yet another great associate and turns out he says oh we have those! He showed me one of the balcony rooms and WOW .... I'm planning when I can get back to stay again :)... thanks David!!! Location - Service - Cleanliness - Cost - Views ....5 stars ya'll

    Trash of precious guest, enjoy

This review is for the house that is right next to a building with rooms. Friends of mine booked rooms and they looked very nice. Piece of . Rooms are dirty. Trash can had previous guest's old fucking socks and other trash in it. Rooms are dirty, heater is not working, only a/c in the winter, and it's freaking cold right now in Cali. We went outside on the ocean front walk, homeless people everywhere! They don't make fuss, just yell out loud once in while. I'm used to it, but it definitely not worth $500 for a beachfront room for 2 days. The restaurant though was only a mile away and the food was amazing! So I am upping my review too a 2 star as you can definitely get a good food nearby.

Me and a friend booked here to spend a long weekend in LA. The price seemed reasonable and the location is right on Venice Beach. They were very kind when we arrived and offered us a complimentary upgrade for the room, changing from the studio to a one bedroom, which was ideal as we ended up being in 3 person. The apartment was clean, great view on the beach. Downstair they have a small cafe which has a patio right on Venice beach, serving great brunch at a very moderate price. We loved our staying here except for one thing. Right in front of the hotel there are many homelesses, who leave trash behind and at night is not the best area to hang if you are alone. We would always go out at night in different areas so that was not a problem for us. I would definitely come back.

Beach view just off the beach in front of the hotel

I came down to LA to enjoy the beach from Redlands for a few days and found out about this place through some friends that live in the area. Finding the hotel was a bit of a challenge and the big surprise was where the hotel was tucked away. It was located directly off the beach and the room I was in had a huge balcony with a view of the beach. The hosts Kyle and Dave were great and accommodating and were more than willing to take the time to sit down and talk about the area and make us feel at home. My uneasiness getting out of the traffic went away after talking with them and settling into the room. I'll provide some pictures of the rooms but I was surprised how the hotel kept some of the more vintage architectural design but still kept a more modern feel. The room had a stove and appliances, plates, bowls, utensils, and cooking things, which allows you to do pretty much what you normally can if you wanted to pick up groceries to save money versus eating out. You're right off of Venice beach at the hotel and only a couple miles of walking from the Venice pier and fairly close to Santa Monica pier also. The beach is huge...so if you want to head out of the hotel and walk out on the beach to see an awesome sunset, while hearing the waves crash on the beach, make sure to leave a bit earlier because it's a deep beach. I will be coming back for sure and felt it was well worth it. I hope others can find this gem in the rough like I have.

I cannot say enough good things.. truly a hidden gem. Sure you have to pay for parking off site but who cares? I mean, it is Cali. Anyways we got the queen sweet as a complementary upgrade and wow!! It is stunning and so clean and the VIEW!! It's everything we didn't know we needed. Full functioning kitchen with all dishes we need. Front desk service was so wonderful as well, thank you KYLE!! (Photos do no justice)

My private little courtyard outside my cottage.

Su Casa is an amazing find. I stayed in one of the 2 bedroom cottages and the experience outshined many of my stays in the Santa Monica/Venice. If you are looking for the true Venice Beach experience stay here. Clean, safe and the staff is so helpful and cheerful. I cannot wait to come back.

This place is a little hard to find when you're driving here because you go through this back street and there's no sign from the back of the hotel. Also, you have to park in another parking lot down the street as this hotel is right on the beach so there's no parking there. The walk isn't bad though and you get to enjoy Venice Beach. Also, this hotel is on top of a cafe, which makes it even harder to find. I will say, Venice beach was a little on ghetto side for me, but inside this hotel, was very nice. The people working there for great, always willing to help, there's complimentary breakfast, free wifi, and the room was a suite, with a living room, kitchen, bedroom. Can't beat the view of the beach right out your window! There's a drug recovery center around the corner from here, but we had no problems, and like I said, Venice Beach is a little ghetto. Stilled enjoyed my time here! P.S. I don't think their walls are very soundproof.

Super beautiful view, cozy one bedroom suite, and friendly staff! It was better than expected for being in Venice. Definitely booking again soon!

We are back for our second stay at Su Casa!! We love this place!! It is as close to the beach as you can get, hotel wise!! There's an amazing restaurant right on the beach, at this hotel!! You get a breath taking view of the beach, sunrise, sunset!! The guys that work here are great! David, Kyle, Griffin and Oscar!! So great to go someplace that makes you feel like family and these guys do!! Another amazing stay!! So glad we don't leave until tomorrow!!

A Beautiful Oceanfront Hotel with an Extraordinary Service Culture…read more My family and I just returned from a Father's Day weekend at Regent Santa Monica Beach, and it was one of the most impressive hotel experiences we've had. We stayed in a 720 Oceanfront King room, which was spectacular. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable, but the true highlight was the view. Being able to sit on the patio and watch the ocean while our children played, read, relaxed, and enjoyed the room created some of our favorite memories of the weekend. We found ourselves spending far more time in the room than we normally do on vacation simply because it was such a wonderful place to be. While the property itself is stunning, what truly sets Regent Santa Monica Beach apart is the service culture. Every interaction felt thoughtful, genuine, and personal. Before our arrival, Deidra was incredibly helpful and responsive regarding room questions I had. Throughout the stay, Waldo made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for, taking the time to ensure our family was comfortable and enjoying everything the property had to offer. Lex checked in proactively and made certain our stay was going smoothly. The level of engagement from the leadership team was remarkable and set the tone for the entire experience. What impressed me most was how attentive the staff were to details. Housekeeping noticed we were traveling with a toddler and disposing of diapers in the room trash. Without us requesting anything, they proactively delivered a Diaper Genie to our room. It was such a simple gesture, but it demonstrated an incredible level of awareness and care. Dining at Orla was another highlight. Both breakfast and dinner were outstanding. Pia stopped by our table to personally ensure everything was going well and even made sure we hadn't left any belongings behind when we finished our meal. Ryan provided exceptional service during dinner and went above and beyond for our family. When our son preferred traditional dinner rolls over the pita bread being served, Ryan and the team went out of their way to locate rolls elsewhere so he could have something he enjoyed. They also handled special requests with grace and professionalism, making our children feel genuinely welcome throughout the meal. The food itself was excellent. The breakfasts were memorable, the seafood dishes were outstanding, the cocktails were creative and well-crafted, and the desserts were fantastic. Orla delivered the kind of dining experience that would be worth visiting even if you weren't staying at the hotel. What impressed me most about Regent was the consistency. The front desk team, concierge staff, housekeeping, restaurant staff, bell team, and managers all seemed aligned around the same goal: creating an exceptional guest experience. It wasn't one outstanding employee--it was an entire culture of hospitality. There are many luxury hotels with beautiful buildings and desirable locations. Far fewer succeed in making guests feel genuinely cared for. Regent Santa Monica Beach does both. This is unquestionably a luxury property, but after experiencing the level of service, attention to detail, dining, and hospitality we received, we left feeling it delivered tremendous value. We have stayed at many excellent hotels over the years, and this is one of the few that had our family discussing a return visit before we had even checked out. Thank you to Waldo, Deidra, Lex, Pia, Ryan, and the entire Regent Santa Monica Beach team for making our Father's Day weekend so memorable. We are already looking forward to coming back.

The tub is the highlight. One comment would be that when we checked in with Anthony, who was so sweet to our toddler, also kept telling us we were getting upgraded to a very nice room. We got all excited. It was a normal room. The "very nice upgrade" just meant that we were on floor 5. I barely call that an upgrade but ok. - we asked for a crib, and we go a nice crib with a cute little baby soap kit from noodle and boo- very nice touch. And baby robes for the kids- my toddler loved it. My toddler was on a rollaway bed and they were super accommodating about it- great experience on that front. - balconies are tiny and I never saw anyone out when I sat out - pool staff was super nice. It was a chilly weekend and the pool could have been warmer (I couldn't get in, but I really don't like cold water). - the beach chairs are also very nice and we were surprised to find them available - they were extremely pleasant about our friends visiting us every day! - the lobby waiter during the day was almost inexistant. We had to go to the bar to ask for drinks. The woman at night was great. Now for the food...: - coast has a great breakfast, the lemon ricotta pancakes are excellent (though stupid expensive for pancakes) - pico is a good spot for shrimp cocktail and calamari. Hasn't seen shrimps that big in a long time. - overall the food was good everywhere but way overpriced.... The kids menu are ridiculous... hard to justify spending $28 on kids pancakes. That being said, the portions were the same as adult portions... maybe make the portions smaller, and price more accessible? Overall we had a great stay, and while on the expensive side, we agreed we would come back. Nicely done!

I found this hotel through ChatGPT--yes, another gem discovered with the help of AI!…read more After I entered all the places we planned to visit during our trip, ChatGPT suggested that we stay in Santa Monica. I was a little hesitant because Santa Monica hotels are known to be expensive, and I preferred to keep our room under $300 per night before taxes and fees. The Shore Hotel offers a great package if you don't mind staying in a room without a beach view. We booked a room with two queen beds--Pool Terrace, if I remember correctly--using their Coastal Getaway rate. The package did not include in-and-out valet parking, daily bike rentals, or access to the gym, but it was perfect for us since we planned to spend most of our time outside the hotel. Our ground-floor room faced the swimming pool, but trees provided privacy by blocking the view into the room from the pool deck. We really liked the room, especially how easy it was to access the pool. It was only about a 60-second walk from our room to the pool entrance! Unfortunately, at around 1 a.m. on our first night, the toilet began having plumbing issues, and bubbles started gushing out of the bowl. About half an hour later, I contacted Manny at the front desk. Since the bubbles continued and an engineer was not on-site, Manny eventually had to move us to another room. It was not fun waking up the kids at 2 a.m. after a long day of driving, especially since they had already settled into the spacious room--and we all loved that room! There was enough space to lay out all four of our carry-on suitcases. However, Manny acted very quickly. He asked Chris and another staff member--sorry, I forgot his name!--to prepare our new room and help move our luggage while my husband and I hurriedly repacked everything we had just unpacked. By 2:30 a.m., we were in our new room. At first, my kids thought we had been downgraded because we went from two queen beds to one king bed, and the room seemed slightly smaller. However, Manny arranged for a rollaway bed--and the room itself turned out to be a major upgrade! He moved us to a third-floor room with a balcony directly facing the beach. The new room was an accessible room, so the bathroom had additional grab bars. That worked perfectly for us because the bars were great for hanging our wet swimsuits to dry! Our original room only had a large rainfall showerhead, while the accessible room also had a handheld showerhead. That was especially convenient since we were traveling with young children. Overall, I really appreciated how well Manny handled our situation! I almost want to gatekeep the Pool Terrace room because it offers such great value. I was initially concerned about noise because I was told that the pool stayed open until midnight on Saturday. However, I can attest that the glass doors do an excellent job of blocking outside noise. My husband and kids had no trouble falling asleep before the plumbing issue began. Honestly, I think the Pool Terrace room would be my go-to choice for our next visit because my kids really enjoyed spending time at the pool. The pool is not very large, but it is more than adequate for cooling off on a hot summer day. We were also fortunate that none of the children using the pool were overly rowdy. Everyone behaved well while still having fun. The hotel offers cabanas for rent, but we had no trouble finding chairs on weekdays or later in the evening on the weekend. I can definitely see myself staying here again the next time we visit Santa Monica!

The housekeeping staff was fantastic too. The gentleman who was responsible for our room always asked if we needed anything and if he could provide any assistance in making our stay even better. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. The great thing about the suite setup is that the living room with a pull out couch is separated by a door to the bedroom; you could watch TV in one room and not bother the people in the other room. The TVs in each room were oversized and there was a decent sized mini fridge (Target and Trader Joes are just down the street - hello wine and beer!) The walls were thick, as was the main door and hotel noise and street noise was minimal. They have a pool on the 3rd floor that doubles as the covered drop off/entrance area and it was very nice. The breakfast buffet was solid (include made to order eggs), but it was too expensive (approx. $33 per person-tip included.) The best part about our stay were the pillows. Down pillows! The most comfortable pillows I have ever slept on! The beds were solid too. What else? You're a couple of blocks from the Santa Monica Pier and Beach. You're within an 8 minute walk to McDonald's for breakfast (cheaper than the hotel buffet!) and your about a 10 minute walk to the 3rd St Promenade. Our daughter absolutely loved her first trip to the beach and this Hilton property and its staff had a lot to do with that! *Tip 1* Head to Trader Joes to stock up on booze for your room fridge. *Tip 2* They don't have a microwave on property to reheat leftovers or snacks. Plan accordingly.
