I came here to try the Paella Mixta which I thought would have a combination of meats and seafood. It had tiny bits of chicken, and exactly 2 shrimp, 2 mussels, and two clams. The rice was super wet. I was disappointed but it wasn't horrible, just blah. I did enjoy my sangria and the best part of the meal was dessert. I had the crema Catalana which is like a Spanish crème brûlée. There were only two servers taking care of a good size group of customers outside and a few of us at tables inside so the service was slow but they did as well as could be expected. Landed late in Barcelona and was looking for dinner and the hotel recommended Suamu. Wow this place was close by and the customer service was great and the restaurant is very modern and clean. They played music and the atmosphere is great. The food was da bomb the best paella I have had compared to the US LoL. I'd definitely recommend Suamu they are open late and the food is very good. Came here after a Barca game. Open late and a good selection of tapas. I got the slow cooked ribs and fries - the ribs were cooked to perfection, and I probably could have eaten 2 orders. I had the best paella of my life here at Suamu. We were desperately craving paella and though it took a little bit of time, the paella came to us hot and fresh with the perfect amount of moisture and crunch. I highly recommend the seafood only version. The croquetas de jamon were also amazing here. My husband and I cannot stop thinking about the delicious meal we had here in our trip to Barcelona. Prices were also very very reasonable for the quality. read more

We went here based on reviews and were disappointed. We tried the broiled calamari and it was like eating unseasoned rubber. I'm not expecting calamari to be fork tender but this was tough and bland. My wife tried the 1/4 roasted chicken and it was dry and bland. It's like they don't use seasoning at all except in the paella. I had the seafood dish and it was wonderfully spiced and piping hot. Had dinner last night. This place was very unassuming and a small restaurant. However don't go by size as this place serves undoubtedly the best Spanish cuisine. Service is very good and food is very fresh and tasty. I had ordered paella with mixed seafood and chicken. The order did take long but the wait was worth it. The food here is fantastic. I will need to come back so I can try other dishes. I was out solo since was traveling for work. Bring a friend or two as the portions are well sized. I had the 1/2 portion of potato fries with fried egg & ham as a starter and the black rice paella as my meal. I have a big appetite and I was stuffed. Definite repeat! read more

It looks like a coffee shop, but boy- the food here is outstanding- and very inexpensive! I originally had plans on going to a local restaurant known for their Paella, but since they didn't open until 8 and I was hungry at 7, I found this gem, sat down order a glass of wine, a cheese plate and anchovy, browsed the menu and decided to give their Paella a try- and I was not disappointed! It was incredibly good! The service was awesome as well, and it was wonderful sitting outside on a quiet street enjoying the weather.
