I had an experience at Sub-Marine Home of The Big Kahuna that I'll never forget. The sandwiches and staff here are amazing. It's a tiny sandwich shop that I believe has been in this same location for many years. I had a project some months ago and frequented this part of town. Sub-Marine was my go to place for a quick lunch. They're located in a small plaza and share a parking lot with others. A veterinary clinic and jiu jitsu studio are neighbors. Menu is on a wall and you place your order Subway-style. You order by size & number. Roll Choices: French, Wheat, Squaw. Subs come in 6″, 9″, or 12″ sizes. Sliced Bread Choices: Wheat, Rye, Sourdough, Squaw. You can customize your sandwich to your hearts content. Look at all the fresh vegetables. The kind lady was welcoming and encouraged me to add on whatever items to my BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avo, turkey). We've tried: BLAT: - This was a delicious sandwich. The squaw bread was pillowy soft and had a gentle sweetness to it. They use fresh avocado - not smashed guac or anything - for their sandwiches. The ripened avocado added a thick creaminess to the BLAT. I also included sprouts as it's my 'extra' veggie supplement for the day. You may also choose from a variety of mustards. I opted for honey mustard and extra mayo. This was one of my favorite sandwiches of the year. CREAM OF BROCCOLI: - Not sure if they make their soups in house. The soup was creamy with nice pieces of soft broccoli. # 27. Pepperoni-Salami-Cheese: - There are daily sandwich specials here at Sub-Marine. I believe it comes with a certain sandwich (of the day), drink, and bag of chips. Co worker had this. He said it was good but not as good as my BLAT. I told him it's better to pay the full price of a sandwich than for the daily sandwich. I am such a fan of the sandwiches here at Sub-Marine Home of The Big Kahuna. I guess it's strange that I've actually never tried their Big Kahuna sandwich but I didn't really mind as the BLAT was my obsession. The sandwich shop is clean and the staff efficient. I was introduced to this place by my coworker and it is so good. I've only tried the big Kahuna and it is huge! The 6 inch is definitely more than you get at any other sub place. Got my boyfriend the 12 inch and it was huge even for a big guy like him with a large appetite. What I love about this place is the meat, cheese, veggies and bread are all so FRESH tasting. It's hard to describe but it's apparent that you aren't at subway. It's pretty much the opposite of subway and I know any sandwich is great because of the meat and cheese. I just realized they have honey mustard and chipotle mayo so now I'm dying to go again and get those on my sandwich to see how much better it is. I can only imagine the bacon is top notch as well. I used to love this place but they rejected me and my service animals. Claiming they need a vest when I have all the valid paper work. They don't even know the laws but what is most appalling is the fact the staff here is so rude and condescending about service animals. This place is consistently good. Located in a small strip center, this independently owned sub shop is family run and the customer service is always great. Today had the turkey with smoked cheddar and it was, as always, very tasty. The sandwiches are packed with fresh ingredients and the bread is always fresh. I highly recommend this place. They make the most delicious subs with amazing quality ingredients. Also the portions are HUGE I was surprised at how big they were. They do not skimp on ingredients either .
