Absolutely fantastic customer service and extraordinary quality and taste. I highly recommend this restaurant to all "foodies" and to all hesitant first time customers alike. My husband is a "sub guy" so much so, that if he had to choose a last meal it would be a "finely crafted sub." A man who uses "crafted" as a word to describe a meal is truly serious about that particular cuisine. For his birthday I wanted to surprise him at work with an incredibly well made sub, wrapped delicately, and delivered fresh to his employment for a birthday lunch surprise. My wife and I had some time to kill before our daughter's field hockey game and we needed lunch so we did what we always do...checked YELP for a local place to try. I actually wasn't in the mood for a sandwich...I told my wife I wasn't in the mood for a sandwich...so what better place for her to pick than a place that sells nothing but sandwiches...SMH. Anyway, we walked into the place and I didn't have hope because...ummm, I didn't want a sandwich, but we were here and I was hungry. Sub-Ology has all of your basics here for subs-but they off so much more. A board full of special sandwiches, wraps, and salads. My wife ordered a very healthy Pesto Wrap (she should have ordered the Turkey Pesto Wrap, but she loved it just the same. She tried the Sub-Ology root beer and loved that as well. I originally wanted the pulled pork sandwich, but for whatever reason they didn't have any pulled pork that day so I had the Turkey Cranberry hot sub...so much for that whole not wanting a sandwich thing. Anyway, hot turkey and swiss on top of a layer of cranberry sauce and topped with cranberry mayo all on a nice soft sub roll. Did I REALLY not want a sandwich??? Boy was I glad they didn't have the pulled pork! Seriously, the sandwich and the wrap and the drinks and the chips and the service were all GREAT. Saw a couple of mildly negative reviews about the bread and the service, but I can't agree with them. Bread was awesome and the staff behind the counter were helpful and all smiles, heck they even brought our food to our table instead of calling us up. I don't know that I will ever be in this part of Cranford at lunchtime again, but if YOU are then give these guys a try...I certainly WASN'T disappointed!!! read more

Went there last week to pick up some lunch. Menu is extensive, so it took a while to decide. Staff was very patient, and helpful. they even substituted ingredients in the sandwich i ordered. Place is also clean and has a lot to offer, in terms of drinks and chips etc. Food itself was also good. I had a panini with the jerk chicken (good flavor - wish it had more goat cheese). The Cranford Special is really good, but might be better as a cold sandwich, so consider ordering one when you're not hungry and toss it in the fridge for later. I met a friend for lunch on a Saturday afternoon who had been here several times and loved it. I live in Cranford but had never been here. My mistake because I've been missing out this whole time. It might be the best sub shop in Cranford. A very nice selection of creative sandwiches and wraps. You have the option of a half or a whole sub. I eat like I'm going to the electric chair and the half was just right for me. The half consists of 2 large halves...believe it or not. I ordered the #4 with the works. It consisted of numerous Italian cold cuts. The bread was very fresh and there was a very generous portion of meat. More meat than bread and that's a good thing. The prices were very good and the service was good and friendly. There are several tables inside if you wanted to lounge in. There is sufficient parking in the area. Subology is a great place to stop in for lunch. They only use the highest quality boars head products. Their bread is always fresh no matter what time you get there. They have all your basic sub shop sandwiches, plus tons of speciality sandwiches that are awesome. The Fig Chicken, Jalapeño Chicken Cutlet, and Sub-Ology Favorite are some of my favorite speciality sandwiches. The employees that serve you are always nice and accommodating. I'm always satisfied with an Italian, but was even happier to see that they had some twists on the classic sub (since I don't love ham enough for it to make up 70% of my sandwich). The Marinated Grilled Chicken, fresh spinach, provolone, and pesto special is delicious, my wife eats the pesto with a spoon. The house roast beef and house roast turkey also offers an option no other deli or lunch options in the area. My wife during her pregnancy was trying to stay away from lunch meat and generally preserved meats. Both the Turkey and Roast Beef are made in-house giving a great option for health conscience eaters looking for Nitrate free options...oh and with far superior flavor.
