Found my favorite sandwich here! Outstanding avocado & cream cheese sandwich. Friendly customer service.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. So disappointed beings I have been coming here since I was a young girl and NEVER have I ever been disappointed. I order a BLT which they forgot the Bacon then my husband wanted a turkey club plain beings he works and wasn't sure when he would have a chance to eat it. As you can see they totally over did themselves with the bacon on his what a joke. Not to mention I called in the order was told 15 min so I showed up ten min after I called and they hadn't even started working on our sandwiches waited literally 20 min inside with one person ahead of me that was a walk in. After I got the food I drove all the way to Merced to find our sandwiches like this sad part is the "new" owner was working and the young girl working both looked loss like they had no idea what to do. I sure do miss the old owners and they would definitely be disappointed and these new owners and how they are doing business will not go back. Called them at 6:00 when I noticed and they told me well are you going to drive back we close at 6:30 .. sad that after 20 years of me coming into the sub shop it has now came to a end these sandwiches aren't even close to what they use to be! I went to the sub shop a couple weeks ago and ordered a turkey sandwich. It wasn't really that bad but it did not have any flavor to it. You would at least expect to taste the mustard and onions they put on it but the whole thing was flavorless. Don't get me wrong, there was plenty of meat on it but you just could not taste anything they put on it. If you just like plenty of meat on your sandwich then I recommend Sub Shop. But if you like flavor on your sandwich then Sub Shop is not the place to get a sandwich. read more

The sandwiches at Sub Shop are always great and fills me up. Employees are always friendly and a very fast wait time.

This place has terrible customer service and they answer the phone with same gloves on that they make sandwiches with . Sandwiches are not made as good as they use to be when old owners had it and the quality is noticeable. Meat texture is like bologna. This place use to be busy and have a steady crowd and clientele when old owners had it but now that they changed ownership it has gone downhill. I no longer recommend the sub shop. read more

Soft bread, fresh veggies, good meats, good prices, good service, etc. They have the "weekend special" buy 2 subs get 1 free (certain selections) Also, there's more promos on the windows & when you walk inside too. We discovered the Sub Shop almost two years ago and now prefer it over Subway, Togo's and other sandwich shops. The customer service is always great and the team members during our visits have always gone above and way beyond preparing our orders and make sure we are happy. We normally get the "Destroyer" sandwich (full size, 9.99) as it's guaranteed to give us dinner and at least one lunch! It's got ham, turkey, salami, beef, different types of cheese and other choices of stuffing such as lettuce, tomatoes, olives, peppers, onion, pickles on your choice of several choices if bread. After picking-up my order and sitting down, I looked at my sandwich sitting in it's little plastic basket, then I realized I was holding a paper bag with another sandwich...and thought, Oh no! I stole the other customer's food! Then I realized it was my other half the sandwich-maker packaged to-go... The Gist? This place is awesome! The people who work there are always so friendly. You also get your food super fast. The sandwiches are huge! A half sandwich is basically the size of a normal sandwich. The bread is always soft. The meats are delicious. They aren't stingy with the fillings at all. I have not had a bad experience at this place and I have been going here for almost 10 years. I think they recently got new owners but the quality is just as awesome. They are really involved in the community as well. Give this place a try if you haven't! read more

Since the new owners they raised prices by about $2 on all meals and my last experience the turkey was dried out like they left it out all day and ended up getting sick from it I definitely will no longer be eating here they just want to over charge you and don't care about giving you a good meal wish the old owners would've sold it to the employees that were always working the place definitely not what it used to be read more

Excellent service, super nice staff. An Atwater institution! I ordered a sandwich with salami on the side. The lady asked if it was for my little boy who was with me. I said yes, so she rolled all the salami and served it with a toothpick and on a seperate platter. They support the local schools and city functions. Eat Local!!! read more

My first ever Yelp review goes to this little sub sandwich store. I just moved to Atwater less than a month ago and have been eating out almost daily because I don't have a fridge yet. One day I was doing my laundry in this laundromat around the corner (cause I don't have my washer/dryer either, lol) I went inside this shop while waiting on my wash to get done. For the "goods" (sub /stance) even the "half" portion is more than enough for one meal and they stuffed the sandwich with a very hearty portion of turkey. With a drink and a bag of chips comes to under $8 ... wow For the service: I'm a newcomer to this town and the lady at the counter made me feel welcome and all her helpers (I'm assuming she's the owner) were very friendly and got my sandwich exactly the way I ordered- extra jalapeños, hold the onion- and quickly even though there must be 10 customers ahead of me I will be back for sure. read more
