Couldn't be more pleased with our experience at Mastro!! I went there to purchase a used car and the dealership was both helpful and friendly. Lilly (our sales agent) was great from the start! The car was pristine and very well-maintained so we decided to proceed with the purchase. My husband wasn't with me and I had to take my son to baseball practice so Lilly got the ball rolling with the finance process while I left for the evening. She was in constant contact the next day getting items that were needed to finalize the process so that we wouldn't have to sit and wait at the dealership. My husband and I both really appreciated this since we work full-time and have 2 children and the last thing we want is to languish at a dealership for hours. I would highly recommend this dealership whether you're looking for new or used. Every person we encountered from start to finish was absolutely fantastic! If I could give half a star, I would. The only person who rated 4 or 5 stars was Manny in the Service shop. Every other person was poor, arrogant and acted like they were doing a favor. One gentleman even pretended to be the supposed manager, Mr. Seth Bell, which I was told by the elderly lady at the window, was coming out to meet me. She did not seem to know much about paperwork and could not answer me why she was taking my paperwork apart and making copies when I asked her why she was doing that. When she went to get Mr. Seth Bell, one short gentleman walked towards me and a taller one stayed back and stood in the doorway, listening. Then, Instead, this other person just said his name was Sean, stood too close and in my face, invading my space, and when I said, Oh, I thought the message said your first name was Seth, Mr. Bell. He said, "no I am not Seth. He is over there." Mr. Bell was lurking in the doorway, watching, and only then stepped from leaning in the doorway to come over. I was never asked to go into any office, never treated with any full service --very poor customer service from a Suburu dealership that claims they care about the customer. This is a company that is only out for itself, for sure! Granted it was at the end of the day but I hurried to get there and called them that I was on my way so I could discuss my 2012 Suburu. Bottom line: Terrible customer service. It is not the "Mastro Difference" they brag about but rather the "Mastro INdifference" to customers. That should be their ad byline! Plenty of other Suburu dealerships to work with who know how to treat their customers! The short guy Sean ( never gave me his full name) threatened me simply because I said that I did not believe him when he tried to bully me and say that " the law says he does not have to show me the quote for a trade in or give any of my paperwork back". He was so angry that I was questioning this that he was shaking! I told him I did not believe that the law said that and he had to show me that! So, I took my keys and went to my car to leave and both he and the "manager" Seth were laughing. A big joke to them! I did not buy my Suburu here and definitely do NOT recommend going to this store and dealing with these gentlemen. Phonies and all talk. Worse customer service ever and I have purchased many cars and dealt with many car dealers in my service in the military. Don't go here. Not worth the time or effort to deal with supposed managers who only care about closing the door. Terrible. read more

Visited the place. Inquired about crosstrek and impreza. We were greeted by a salesman on the lot (cant remember the exact name but a bit older for sure and looks to be very experienced). Showed us a couple of cars on the lot and we tried to look at the interior of the car however they were locked. Here's the kicker... He didnt offer to open it up for us to take a look inside after seeing us wanting to check the interior. We find it a bit unusual compared to other dealers we have gone through who will be rushing to open it. Anyway, we just shrug off the situation and continued with the conversation about the trims we're looking for which includes eyesight. They dont have it on that time which is fine. Then... Thats it. Never asked us to go inside to check other options, or offered other options... Very unusual taking to consideration that it was labor day weekend. I guess they may have reached their sales quota for the month maybe? that there's not much to appetite to really get our business. I think it might be just one-off situation to be able to say this dealer is bad however how many times one visits a car dealer vs a grocery store? Maybe after sometime when its time to change our rides again that we may reconsider coming back. 3 stars because the salesman was not pushy and aggressive which we like but there's a fine line of not being aggressive to being no interest to get someones business. read more

This is our second purchase at Mastro, and I don't think we'll ever purchase anything other than Subaru's from this location from here on out. I've had many experiences with car buying, and by far, dealing with the crew at Mastro has been the most easy and best experience thus far. Sure, car buying takes FOREVER, but they are so sweet and accommodating. We happened to be there on a "grill out day" and they didn't mind us snagging some treats for our picky 19 month old. I found Mastro Subaru in 2011 and wow, I'm glad I did. I am a logical, task-master kind of personality, not easily wowed. Subaru currently has the highest reliability rating, topping Toyota and Honda; which is what brought me in. My salesman/consultant was George; he has great product knowledge (engine sz,hp,platform,trim levels,etc), is patient, and actually listens to you. The general manager, Sean was very professional; quite a refreshing change from what you typically find. I bought a new Forester and referred a Legacy sale to George 5 mos later. The service guys, Pete and Ray treat you with a level of care you'd expect from a luxury automaker. (I've had Acura,Saab). See George H., you won't be disappointed. Within those 5 mos, my wife purchased a new BMW from Bert Smith in StPete, hands down the best BMW dealer in the Bay area (Ferman BMW assoc's are the typical car types, fyi, omg, I thought i was at Barnum and Bailey). read more

He was consistently patient, professional, and very informative as he explained and demonstrated all the features of the Outback to us. There was zero pressure through any part of the process, including with LD, the Sales Manager, which used to be what we hated about buying a new car! Wonderful car buying experience. Love my new car and love the Mastro Team!

I was not real happy during the sales process despite Mike the salesman and Bill the internet manager trying to be very helpful but I figured I would let it go. About a week after the purchase I got a phone call from a nice lady saying some mail had been returned from me and they wanted my correct address. What arrived was a hand addressed envelope with information about the two years free maintenance. I made an appointment online as directed in the flyer sent to me from Mastro for the first service oil change at 3750. I received an email a day or two later asking me to confirm the appointment and I did. The day of the appointment I battle traffic from south Tampa and get there just in the nick of time. The counter guy asks for my key goes out to check the mileage and says you are not due until 7500 miles or some period of time (I think 6 months) No explanation of why Mastro sent me old outdated info and wasted 90 minutes of time--no service that day either. Today I get an email saying my car has a scheduled visit for service on Thursday November 13, @ 4PM. I never made any such appointment. I call and ask what it was about--Never got a real straight answer-at first the guy on the phone tried to blame it on Subaru HQ--They I point out that it is from Will Conklin Service manager. The answer was then oh someone must have predicted when you need service. When I pointed out that they were lucky I had called to let them know about the appointment and not just ignored it the guy on the phone said it was my responsibility to maintain the car. (still no definitive explanation of how the appointment was created or by who) **I have since gotten am email from Will Conklin blaming it on a vendor-I am perfectly capable of making my own appointments-and have already done so (See above) but it would help if Mastro could speak with one voice...and send correct information to customers.. ** Today /11/12/14 I just got a text from Mastro reminding me of the appointment they set for me on 11/13/14 and to call if I cannot make it. Apparently they outsource everything at Mastro---or just never talk to each other... read more

Easy buying experience. Upfront pricing, honest and fair.

READ THE FINE PRINT PEOPLE!!! BEWARE!!! So, this Loyalty For Life program Mastro has offers FREE oil changes for life. Sounds great, right??? Well, before you get too excited, understand that ALL factory maintenance must be done through their dealership (I bought a used Ford from them thinking this was an awesome deal). So I call to schedule my 2nd oil change and was told my tires were due for rotation. Since I have a close friend who works at Tire Kingdom I advised Manny the Service Manager that I decline the tire rotation. At that point the rudeness kicked in and I was told that I have to pay for my oil change if ALL scheduled OEM Ford maintenance was not done. So, an oil change for life turned into ONE free oil change. Yet another smarmy car dealership who gets a NEGATIVE review and a big shame on you Mastro. Had sales done their job properly to inform customers of the fine print that would have been the correct thing to do. And even after calling the sales team after this snafu I was told (and I quote) ""I have never heard of that before"". WOW!!! Now, went from a happy customer to NEVER doing business with Mastro Subaru again. Unfortunately for them, I am purchasing another new vehicle and they will not get my business...ever! Unbelievable...but then again, when it comes to greed and money, some people just do what they have to do to make a buck. Never again Mastro...never again! read more
