Everything was adequate. I ordered a stinger sub and onion rings, and the food wasn't bad... I ordered it hot , and to describe it as mild would be to give it too much credit. The amount of steak was startling in how little there was. I think the photos were extremely deceiving.... I expected that a half-sub would stuff me, and have lunch for tomorrow. For $20, it barely touched my hunger. The flavor was decent; it tasted like an adequate stinger should. For the price though, I really think I should have walked away with a stronger emotion than complete indifference. At least if it were horrible, I'd feel something for the food.... It was like watching the matrix. I was hungry, I ingested calories.... I wouldn't order from them again. read more

Sunday take out. Order a large pizza. Pizza is just basic good pizza. Not a wow. We ordered extra sauce, and even that still wasn't enough for our liking. But it's good cook and flavor. Also ordered a small royal supreme, which was very good. We ordered delivery, and the onion rings traveled very well. They were sooo good! I cannot comment on the ambiance of Submaster's as I have only ordered from DoorDash, but I can about the food and service. The service at SubMaster's via delivery is great. I've never had to wait more than half an hour. They have never forgotten anything in my order. The food at Submaster's is decent for the price. It's nothing spectacular and your typical pizza place fare but the lunch special (which you can order all day by the way) is a great deal - a half sub, fries, and a 20 oz beverage for $9.99 plus fees. Not to mention they often have free delivery deals through DoorDash. Not bad. read more

Ordered from here for the first time through DoorDash last night, and I was very impressed by the food especially considering the other reviews on here. I got the grilled chicken salad (huge portion, fresh and delicious), the bruschetta bread (another generous portion, very flavorful, and fresh toppings), and the new Mac and cheese (pretty good, nicely toasted in an individual baking pan which is a nice touch). Hospitality is always at its finest at this small-town divey grub-down spot. I use to come into the NT Submasters about once a week over the summer. They make mouth-watering wraps, burritos, fingers, and the pizza is gooey, just how I like it. There is always counter help inside and wait time is never too long. Today I ordered mild fingers with fries and it only took less than five minutes for them to make my order. The gentleman also kindly offered me a sampling of delish spinach and garlic Bruschetta bread. If you like old-school submarine shoppes, you'll like Submaster's menu variety. The way to a customer's heart is good food, but first and foremost, friendly conversation and genuine hospitality. Disaster. First order from here was great, so we thought we'd order again! This was a disaster. I ordered wings. There were no wings. I ordered extra cheese, there was only maybe half the regular amount of cheese. My sub had no condiments. It was also missing ham. Like none. I ordered from door dash because it's a little bit away from us, and it took over an hour and a half to get delivered, so that was already annoying, but then to not get all the food and get it incorrectly? I stumbled upon Submasters while driving around aimlessly and looking for a place to eat on Sunday. After randomly seeing this place we figured "why not?" and decided to give it a go. Walking into this place is nothing special, it looks like a typical pizza/sub shop and has its fare share of Italian decorations along with a large menu posted on the board. After looking over the menu I settled on a lunch special which consisted of a 6" chicken finger sub, a pop, and some French fries. The French fries were pretty basic but good at the same time. The chicken finger sub was juicy, saucy, and cooked just right, I actually wish I got a foot long! If I could rate this place zero stars, I would. My husband and I ordered from submasters after noticing a coupon in the paper. Placed our order for pizza and wings, and I mentioned when I placed the order that I had a coupon for the $21.99 special. The girl on the phone acknowledged the coupon and said they'd be over soon. When the delivery guy came about 45 minutes later, our total was higher than I expected - by nearly $10. I said I had a coupon and it was supposed to be 21.99, plus tax and delivery. The delivery guy apologized and said the coupon was expired. It clearly was not, I had just gotten it the day before. Th delivery guy was nice about it and called over the shop. The girl on the other line said the coupon was a misprint and they couldn't accept it. Frustrating. We went with this place because we had the coupon, and then she wouldn't accept it. The delivery guy made sure to take it with him, too. Besides the coupon false advertising, the pizza was a greasy mess and the wings were just ok. I have never had a bad meal from Submasters! They do not disappoint!! It seems like a few of the lower ratings are all Uber Eats deliveries. I always go and pick mine up--and it has always been fresh, hot and perfectly done! I have been going to Submasters for several years now! Did you know that during Covid, the owner put out on a community FB page that if anyone needed elderly or shut ins needed any food such as eggs, bread, etc...that he would be happy to get some for them. Submasters not only had great food, but they are an important part of out community and we should support them! read more

First time here. Decided to try their most popular item, Philly cheesesteak. It wasn't bad but wasn't anything special. Not a huge fan of the roles they use. French fries were really good though. My cousin got the cheeseburger. The meat was surprisingly very good. But she exclaims that the deep fried cheesy potato bites were very disappointing for "lack of cheese." Cheese is important when the word cheesy is in the name. Service was not great similar to the attitude the employee gave us. Decent size dinning room. Clean environment. I just wanted a chicken finger sub so that's what I got. They have a deal where you get a 6in sub and fries for a set price so I did that. We sat and ate there. We used to buy their NY Style pizza all the time. A couple of months ago it was lousy. The taste was different and it didn't have as much cheese and sauce. Today, the wife said lets try them again. They use $1 shoe boxes for flour and sugar storage...NOT Lexan (high quality plastic containers) Restaurant quality containers. As an outside delivery person, the BIG GUY told everyone as a default," you have a few minutes...." and everyone accepted it. During the visit there were 8 of us in the waiting area, and another delivery person was told only 1 of 4 subs were made and it would be a few minutes. Customer Service sucks. Staff is trying but being yelled at like children. No one is cross trained. North Tonawanda has lost several smaller Pizza & Sub places in the last few years, so I was very excited to learn that Submasters had opened near us. My husband picked up a takeout menu a few days ago and we mulled it over carefully, having ordered pizza two weeks before from a larger chain and being very disappointed. We finally decided to try it out and ordered our "usual" - A large cheese and pepperoni and a large chicken finger (since I'm a fiend for bleu cheese) along with some fingers and fries for the younger kids. The place was packed, but even so the time for pickup was comparable to that of the larger chain we had ordered from with better prices. Even on first inspection we were impressed by the quality of the pies. They looked far better and fresher than the chain pizzas had. The crust was the perfect mix of soft and chewy at the end, and while I am not usually a fan of the thinner crust the toppings made up for that. I was highly impressed to see actual bleu cheese both on my chicken pizza and in the sauce containers for the chicken fingers. Several places we had gone to prior to this offered a very thin dressing type of bleu cheese with no chunks. This was the real deal. While we have yet to try their subs, dinners or salads the variety makes this a place we will certainly revisit often as there is something on the menu for everyone in our household. And with Dine-in, Take Out, Delivery and Catering they are very accommodating Highly Recommended!. read more

Well, I ordered at 6:17 and food arrived 7:25. Cold. I called at 7:10 to ask about it and the girl who answered was snarky and hung up without acknowledging any kind of end to the conversation. My go to food (sadly) is steak and cheese subs. People's final meal could be caviar or lobster...mine's a good steak and cheese sub, so when I saw how many they had I figured they have to be masters of it. Boy, was I wrong. Literally drove 2 minutes down the road, my wife and I sit down and unfold the tinfoil to find lots of water and a little grease sopping around on soggy rolls. Oh well, that happens sometime when using too much water cooking the steak. I ordered extra cheese but that was a waste, the cheese was pretty much obliterated, overly melted (must cook it on the grill with the steak). The steak is another story, doesn't look like it's riddled with fat but it's like those little fat pebbles you bite into, in a fast food burger. Disgusting. So sad. My boyfriend and I stopped by this place yesterday and had heard good things from my friend . We ordered assorted sub and I ordered a chicken finger sub plus a small fry. We ordered it Togo and it came out within 10-15 minutes! We got home to eat our food and it looked absolutely delicious. My boyfriend thought his sub was 10/10 and mine as well !
