I'm always on the lookout, keeping my ear to the ground, for great pizza places in Buffalo. Although sometimes, I just want to try some place new. I had heard good things about Naked City Pizza, so I decided to take a break from my usual spots and give them a try and overall, I am very pleased! I called around 4:45pm on a Saturday and a gentleman took my order. He was courteous and friendly and said my order would be ready in 25-30 minutes. I arrived about 30 minutes later, easily finding a parking spot in their large parking lot, which is a mixture of pavement and dirt/gravel. Walking inside the shop, it's similar to most Buffalo pizza shops where it's relatively small and really about take-out, not for dining in. There were a few young guys working the counter and ovens, they were able to get me in and out quickly. From the limited time I was inside, the workers were friendly enough, they seemed to get along well. For dinner, I ordered a Quarter Sheet (6 slices) Steak and Three Cheese pizza but the gentleman who took my order over the phone put my order in as a Half Sheet (12 slices). They realized the mistake too late and gave me the Half Sheet for the Quarter Sheet price! I really do appreciate that, it's great customer service. I have half a pizza leftover for a quick dinner now! Naked City Pizza nails the traditional Buffalo-style with a doughier undercarriage and nice crispy, chewy crust. The dough was airy but it didn't seem as "heavy" as many other pizza places around Buffalo, but maybe I was just REALLY hungry. haha For their steak pizza, it seems like they use thicker pieces of steak, which was great, definitely felt more substantial. Most steak pizzas come topped with banana, hot, or sweet (bell/green) peppers, but Naked City uses roasted red peppers, which are sweet and have a more distinct flavor and softer texture - I was impressed, this paired VERY well with the other components! Along with them, there's also onions on top. The three cheeses used are cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan, which of course are delicious. In addition to the roasted sweet peppers, the other component that I was surprised by was the white garlic sauce as the base. Steak pizzas around Buffalo vary from using a "hoagie oil/sauce" to just a huge variety of cheeses, no base sauce of any kind. I tend to stay away from white sauce on pizza as it's usually associated with garlic (I don't want my breath to be too... fragrant haha), but this wasn't too garlic-y, I didn't feel like I was "wearing it". I enjoyed the added creaminess the white sauce added to this pie. After six slices, I stopped myself and put the other half in the freezer. The six slices I had were delicious and filled me up nicely - The squares were cut nicely and they were plenty filling with tons of meat and cheese. I have a feeling these will reheat in the oven nicely. Looking at the prices, I was impressed too with how affordable Naked City Pizza is! All-in-all, I'm glad I gave Naked City Pizza a chance and had a great experience! The staff are friendly enough and quick, it's easy to get in and out quickly, and the pizza is traditional Buffalo-style so it's on the heartier end while being affordable. I look forward to ordering and trying a red sauce pizza from Naked City Pizza to see how sweet their sauce is. read more

Another Buffalo family favorite pizza. Love they're close to me now. They have the crust game down pat. I could eat just crust with side a dipping sauce. Always buttery, crispy how I like it. Always cooked to perfection. You don't need order extras on these pizzas. The base is perfect layers of cheese, sauce, and whatever other toppings you get. They have several great specialty pizzas as well. Ordered several times, and the pizza is always consistent! Our go-to pizza when people come from out of town. Ordered for MNF and couldn't be more pleased. Got the 1/4 pie Veggie with 10 wings. Honestly, this might be my new favorite. Tons of flavor, and you get so many different veggies like artichoke and spinach. And pizza wasn't soggy which can be hard to do when it's veggie. It's a small place so I'm not sure if you can eat there, it's attached to a nearby restaurant, but possibly? We picked up dinner from Naked City Pizza, which is a small takeout spot connected to Fanara's. The owners started with a Buffalo style pizza shop in Las Vegas, where Guy Fieri came for Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. With success in Vegas, they figured they'd open a spot in Buffalo. We ordered the chicken and 3 cheese pizza, chicken fingers, seasoned fries, and suicide fries (which were featured on DD&D). We ordered online and it was ready for pickup in 40 minutes. It was strictly to-go...no table or counter seating. We ordered a half sheet, but to our surprise, they gave us a full sheet. Makes for an easy lunch on our continued stretch of snow days. My kids were not fans of the onions hidden beneath the cheese. They spent more time dissecting the pizza than eating it. The suicide fries had a delicious hot sauce and variety of hot peppers sliced on top... cherry, jalapeno, and banana peppers. Chicken Fingers were average. Wow! Now this is some great pizza! It was my first time on Saturday and the only reason chosen was due my two top picks were closed for some reason and now, so glad they were! I got the Naked City, 1/2 sheet for 4- which I recommend because everyone loved it and ate far more than they usually do. Love this place! We get the food about once a week (oops!). Our personal favorite is when they run their French onion pizza special. They often announce their specials on Instagram so worth following their page. Plus 75¢ wings on Wednesdays which is hard to come by these days. Small, take out only, but in good weather there are some tables outside. The chicken fingers with the homemade blue cheese are inexplicably delicious. Fast consistently delicious pizza and chicken wings. In a city that provides some tough competition their pizza is made using fresh high quality ingredients. We've ordered here several times now. Haven't had a bad pizza yet. I get the Veggie and my partner gets one of the vegan ones. The roasted garlic buns can be made vegan and they are outstanding. I had been to Naked City Pizza in Vegas several years ago after it was featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Passed this location on a recent trip to Buffalo and wanted to give it a try. Pizza was very flavorful and stands out among several places I've tried when I'm in town. Crust had some nice crisp but was still light and chewy. Definitely tasted like they are using quality ingredients. Place was pretty busy but my pizza was done within the 30 minutes that they had estimated. Service was very good! read more

First of all, you cannot beat the price for a 12 slice large pizza( squares) especially on Tuesdays, which is pizza discount night. It is only 15.00 fir cheese and one other ingredient pizza. and it is pretty good! The sauce is on the sweet side and the crust is not too thin or thick. I would highly recommend! read more

Just grabbed a few slices at naked city pizza for lunch and had a cheese pepperoni slice and also a meatball Parm slice. The meatball Parm slice was better than the cheese and pepperoni slice and I believe it was just fresher. The cheese and pepperoni seemed kind of dry it was 1130 when I picked up the two slices I don't know if they put them out at 11 o'clock or not but it was dry. I need to order a fresh pizza and not One from their daily sliced pie. I will say this about the meatball Parm slice. It was not homemade meatballs. They seem frozen and cut in half and stuck on a pie. It was good, but I expected better. I will try again with a fresh pie. read more
