Citomer service is excellent. I had a turkey avocado on squaw bread. It was very good. You can customized your sandwiches to your liking. I also tried the zucchini bread which was to die for, I will actually drive for a piece of this bread. A customer who was ahead of me order a homemade brownie which looked pass delicious. I opted for the bread so next time I will have to try the brownie. While there I noticed salad that were made and waiting for pick up. I don't know what types of salads these were but they also looks quite delicious. I can't wait to go back and try one of their loaded potatoes and their salads. Food is decent, horrible customer service.. I knew Subs and Spuds gets relatively busy in the afternoon so I decided to call in for my order. They put me on hold while they finished taking another customers order but simply put the phone down so I could hear everything that was going on (which is unprofessional but not a big deal to me). Eventually they pick the phone and take my order and proceeded to tell me it will take 15 - 25 minutes. I said "okay" then proceeded to wait 25 minutes before driving down there. I arrived and told them that I was there to pick up my order and he tells me that it's going to be another 15 - 25 minutes. I'm irritated at this point, since it defeats the purpose of me ordering my meal over the phone in the first place, but it's fine. I decided to walk out, and he asks me "do you still want the order?" I tell him, "yes" and proceed to walk out. Since I live down the street, I go back home and wait another 25 minutes and then I head back. When I get there he says "so you still want me to make the sandwiches?" Now I'm extremely irritated. I told him that I said "yes" and he proceeded to argue with me and tell me that I told him "no". At no point did I tell him to cancel my order, but he argued with me about it instead. He asked if I still wanted the order, and I just told him to forget about it. I can vouch only for the potato's and potato salad, as that's all I've ever gotten here. Loaded potato's are delicious. Giant portions with a ton of cheese. Love this place. Have been coming here since I was a kid. But to give fair criticism, they just started charging a 99 cent fee for all card transactions. That is insane, I've never paid a dollar fee ANYWHERE to pay with modern payment. Probably will stop coming unless they change this policy. read more

One time I tried to order from this place on one of those like DoorDash or Uber eats platforms and it was confusing trying to order my sandwich because the sandwich had baked potato topping options instead of sandwich options. Once the salad was prepared, they proceeded to let me know they are missing two items from the salad. Ordered on yelp, never done that before! But...apparently the person who has the app wasn't there so I had to wait while they made it. They gave me a timeframe of 10-35 mins. I was out in about 10 or 15 mins after getting there so it was in the 35 min timeframe. I ordered pesto chicken panini, its good but more like a regular hot sandwich than panini. I also ordered there soup, salad, bread and soda combo...what i was hungry! Brocolli and cheese soup looks a little scary (i don't usually eat it but i thought I'd try)...i don't think I'd order that soup again but that could be personal preference. Salad was a green salad with cucumber, tomato, sliced onions (ew) and olives (yes!!). Staff was friendly. I'd probably try them again, if i can get there in their open hours (my hours run later). This little spot we have always seen but never stopped in to try. So glad we did. Old school mom and pop sandwich shop. Simple, clean, quiet. We met Ryan behind the counter, really helpful. We got the 6inch Philly cheesesteak and the chicken Caesar wrap. Both tasted really good and clean. Throughout being there, we struck up a conversation with Ryan, and found out he was the owner. Really nice guy that gave us parenting advice he learned from his son (we are expecting). As we left, he gave us some free brownies to say thank you. Definitely will be coming back here again. I've eaten here many times over the years, as my parents live nearby. I always thought this place was 'just OK'. I stopped in here today for a sammie while in the area. It has definitely improved. The new owners do seem to care a little more than the previous ones. Still only two kinds of bread, white Italian or seven grain wheat. I thought the seven grain wheat bread was really good and fresh. In fact my whole sandwich seemed fresh and delicious. But I'm pretty easy to please since I pretty much like all sandwich places (even Subway). The people working here at lunch were fast and friendly. I was in and out just as fast as an assembly line sandwich place. They also have salads, hot subs, wraps and 16 different kinds of stuffed potatoes which are good too!! ...ie 'spuds' for you slow people. I had the lunch special: small sandwich, bag of chips and drink for $6.51 out the door. -- I don't think I was charged any extra to use my credit card as mentioned in previous reviews?! I was craving the Asian chicken salad at Subs and Spuds. My girlfriend and I got to eat inside this week and the food was just as amazing as I remember. The gentleman that took my order did apologize in advance that it may take a bit lingering than normal as they were out of fresh wontons for the salad and I was okay waiting a little bit. My girlfriend got a chicken croissant sandwich and said it was delicious as well. I would definitely go back. I had read about this place on Yelp a couple of times months ago and finally had a chance to check it out for myself. I went there for a late lunch last Friday and I'm glad I did. You can get fountain drinks or buy milk, juice, etc out of a fridge. I went up to the counter and was greeted immediately by a young man. I told him it was my first time there and he laughed and smiled and said now he was nervous, he'll really have to do a good job, lol. Their menu is very large with all the sandwiches, soups and potato styles. I ended up getting the Italian sandwich, and the potato chowder soup, with a soda. Along the counter you can buy cookies, breads, sweets, more stuff than I can remember now, they had a lot of goodies. I picked out a table and my food was brought to me. Everything was delicious, the sandwich was all fresh ingredients and was stuffed with all the veggies and condiments you would want, on good wheat bread. The soup was wonderful, very creamy with big chunks of veggies and potatoes in it. There were a couple folks in there that I picked up on were regulars, and it was a very relaxing place. They have some outside seating also with tables and it's right in the Canyon Crest Shopping Center, so anything you need is there. Prices are good too, and I will definitely be going back. read more

I'm only reviewing for the oriental chicken salad, which has been honorably mentioned in these Yelp reviews. The salad comes in two sizes. The large size is the size of a normal-sized white, styrofoam take out box. Dressing is placed on the side so it doesn't wilt too much. Subs & Spuds charge an additional 30 cents for those using debit or credit to pay. The salad was very ordinary. Chopped lettuce, wonton chips, shredded chicken, and three slices of mandarin orange. I like how liberal they were in shredding up chicken for my salad. A lot of places are so stingy with meat but this place isn't. However, it was nothing that wow'ed me. I definitely have to try a sandwich next time. The restaurant is pretty small but relatively empty on a weekday. It has a nice homey feel to it, which I appreciate. read more
