Quite possibly the WORST propane company out there. Price gouging and rudeness (Marcus and staff) are the norm.

I have had no problems with United Propane. They have always been polite so I am wondering if the other reviews are isolated instances?

We just had a whole house generator installed, and this is the company that we used to set up and fill the propane tanks that will power the generator. The initial delivery of the tanks was coordinated by the generator installation company, however, from the day of tank delivery up until now everything has been fantastic. Dennis, the delivery driver who brought, installed, and filled the tanks up was very helpful. He answered all of my questions and took great care to install the tanks in a manner that was safe and in the location that I needed. When dealing with the staff that has handled everything else when I've called, I've been incredibly impressed. I initially spoke to Lynn, who just like Dennis, patiently answered all of my numerous questions. She explained the process of getting us set up with our own account and what to expect for the next steps in the process. Now that everything is up and running, I had the pleasure of speaking to Mary yesterday. Again, Mary was very helpful, professional, but also very friendly and personable. I love supporting locally owned small businesses and I'm so glad this is the company that the generator installation company works with because I could not have picked a better company to service my tanks! If you're looking for a propane company, definitely give them a call. Their prices are reasonable, the service is great, and I have been very pleased already.

I use a remote gauge and it's pretty accurate, and I have no issue doing it this way. This gives them an idea how much fuel we're burning and allows them to get me on the delivery schedule. With any snow or ice storm, I clear the driveway, our sidewalk and I remember to clear a path to the tank. This last storm (1/25/2026) was brutal, a lot of sleet and freezing rain. The driver showed up as scheduled on Feb 3rd and was thrilled to see a clean spot on the street for him to park the truck, with a clear path to the tank. And hats off to the delivery guys, they're awesome!

The Federal authorities have issued an emergency order allowing fuel to be delivered on snowy or icy roads. Economy Propane said they didn't care even though our street is pool table flat. Long story short...we finally were able to Purchase the tank from our propane company. Sharp energy was referred to me by a couple of friends. So I gave them a call. I had the pleasure of meeting Richard S. who came out to assess the tank and send us a quote. During his assessment he discovered the tank did not meet industry standards. Fortunately I did not purchase the tank at that point and was able to get the problem solved before I "Bought it" as part of the purchase. Our propane company came out quickly to resolve the issue. A recheck by Sharp found it was still not correct, again our company came out to address it again and again it failed. Richard sent a Sharp tech out who identified a bad grounding site, cleaned it up, retested and this time passed in flying colors! If Sharp is willing to do this before I'm a customer? I can't wait to be one!!! The cost savings is almost staggering between what we were paying vs Sharps pricing. I've got nothing bad to say about our current propane company, they've always been responsive and friendly, but it's nice to know Sharp Energy is too at a lot less money!

My impression is that HD is geared more for the pros while Lowes is more for regular consumer DIYers. So, I use their respective apps and check what they have for my projects. I find that Lowes is better for some of my projects. For example, I find a better selection of project boards like 2'x4' plywood in Lowes than in HD. For shelving, I like the Project Source brand components marketed by Lowes.

While the customer service from…read morethe Lowe's reps themselves were great it was just a lot of confusion and calling different people to get the correct information when scheduling the vanity. Lowe's uses local companies in the areas and Lowe's then becomes sort of like the "middle man" at least that's what it felt like. We ran into issues when scheduling the vanity install and it took multiple trips to Lowe's and multiple phone calls to get the appointment. It was a lot of hassle that I prefer not to deal with. I thought going throw Lowe's to schedule install would make things easier, but after that experience, I feel as though it might be easier to purchase what I need from Lowe's and the hire people myself for the install. In the end the installation happened and I'm satisfied with the product but just wish I didn't go through the hassle of it all. Again the Lowe's employees were patient and kind so I really appreciate them.

I often use their phone app to check availability & items' location in the store. We have also bought large household appliances and paid for installation & removal of old appliances. Turns out that anyone can sign up for free. The savings benefits come into effect after spending a certain amount of money. Hence more suited for businesses or people who are constant DIYers like me. I am in the store at least once a week. Oh, they have a military discount program. Now, while the staff if helpful, often it's hard to find the staff. It's a big store and they are often busy. I almost wish they'd go ahead and post a map of the store upfront. It takes you longer to find and flag an associate than to get the item yourself and go through self check out. My encounters here have all been in the garden center. June is a busy time and plants multiply almost weekly. I don't mind searching high and low for plants and garden essentials especially propagated ones to start/add to your garden! I've found quite a few rescues who are all thriving so if you want to add to your hoard of plants check them out. Special thanks and mention to the staff at the self checkout who are very helpful, responsive, and friendly.

A very unhelpful technician (1-star) came and went in less than 10 minutes, telling me he couldn't smell the odor so I'd "need a second opinion". I called back to SMO for further assistance. Tyrisha Monroe assisted me (5-stars!). Each time I called in, I spoke with Tyrisha. She was extremely courteous, understanding, and helpful. She immediately scheduled a more experienced technician to my case. Within a few hours, Reggie was at my door (5-stars++!). Reginald Morton has serviced our furnace in the past. He is extremely professional, wise in his trade, and a genuinely nice man whom I gladly welcome into my home. Reggie worked hard, trouble shot the issue, explained everything to me, then made sure the entire space was nice and clean before he left. I have always been impressed with Reggie's quality of work and kind demeanor. After today's experience, I requested that he be tagged as my preferred technician (I'm not sure if that's a thing, but I certainly hope it is!) --as long as all you Yelp readers don't start requesting him to the point that he is not available when I need him. ;D Well done SMO, you have two extremely professional employees who care about their work. They deserve your acknowledgement. In this day of so many people being more interested in themselves than their job, this was refreshing.
