Decided to have something different for lunch. We don't normally eat at chain spots, but wanted a quick sandwich. The girl working this morning 4/23/2025, needs serious lessons in customer service. Had I been the one paying for lunch, I would have walked out. My friend asked about the new nachos and she replied "The Doritos nachos? Yeah what about them?" The store only offered white, wheat, or jalapeno bread. The store only offered 3 types of sliced cheese. It just wasn't a good experience and the poor service made me not want to go back to this location for sure. read more

The food is not fresh and the places are dirty and so are the employees. Bad service it has really gone downhill. We go to Jersey Mikes now.

Sandwiches were fine, but the two woman workin today both seem to absolutely hate their jobs. Very short, no friendly conversation, even a how are you, nothing. I never leave a review for a Subway because everyone knows what to expect when going to a Subway, HOWEVER, the customer service level at this subway was beyond what I've experienced at any other subway that I had to make a mention! You're genuinely greeted upon walking in and the attention to detail when making your sandwich felt like a "non-chain" fast food restaurant. They even serve your sandwich in a small basket when eating in which I thought was another great detail to not feel so rushed. The purple haired old lady is rude , unhelpful, unknowledgeable . I have been going there for a while now and I will no longer be going and have told all of my alpine neighbors to do the same. I wasted money and was not able to get the product I wanted. She offered no apology, no refund, just a rude "well I don't make them". We have ordered from the app the last 2 times and both times the order has been wrong. Paid for extra meat and avocado and didn't get it. The first time they mixed up the sandwiches. You are better off going in and watching them make it. read more

Food is not what it used to be, you used to be able to see the ingredients on a sandwich and the last four times it was looking sparse. I got four leafs of spinach one tomato when i asked for veggies and it's been the same for a while. I got double everything too....Don't waste your money. So if you want your order correct apparently you need to go into the store so they can physically hear what you want. You know, I never a fan of sandwiches until I came here. The first few times I came here wasn't even for the sandwich, it was the people, the sandwich artists that had me coming back for more. The sandwich artists here are nice, young, respectful & outgoing, they seriously had me coming back even when I wasn't a fan of sandwiches. This spot never ever has sandwiches ready when you order in the app. I ordered 30 minutes in advance and they still hadn't even started my sandwiches. Alpine is not that busy at all so i'm not sure why. Plus they don't honor the commercial advertisements for buy 2 footlong get one free. Why are they exempt? We love their specials, but not a fan of their daily ones. What I mean is, when they offer like the subway club for $6 all month long, rather than a tuna foot long only on Fridays for their daily special. Staff always happy to ADD a little extra veggies and sauces when I ask for them. They always seem to be in a happy mood while helping each customer design their individual orders. Like their location much better than the other one in Alpine or the location on Las Coaches, Lakeside. Would recommend this location. I don't think you will be disappointed in the customer service. Worst service ever. Kid making mine and my little boys sandwiches was rude, got everything wrong and was pissed when I told him to fix it. He put one tiny piece of ham on my little boys sandwich then proceeded to package it up w/ out asking if we wanted lettuce/tomato mayo anything just packaged up a dry gross piece of bread with one piece of ham. He didn't ask if I wanted mine warmed up put one tomato on it and shoved it in a bag. He and the girl he was working with were arguing behind he counter... it was terrible I will not be back. I wish to give kudos' to Andy, and his crew...We get there at 2:00 p.m. daily to get our meal..this is the best Subway in San Diego...Andy is friendly, kind, attentive and courteous...an excellent representation of your food chain.. ALWAYS clean, and fresh...we LOVE coming here to eat! His crew is awesome, and he is responsible I believe for their contagious great service...His customer service skills are top notch...I hope Subway realizes what you have here...this is the cleanest, most friendliest. and fun Subways in town. Beware!. My husband went there about seven days ago. He ate the meatball sandwich. About six hours later he was very sick with stomach ache. That night he began throwing up violently. The same thing for the next three days, throwing up about 10 times a day. He finally agreed for me to take him to urgent care. We went to El Cajon for him to be seen. It was food poisoning. The poor guy lost 10 pounds in 4 days. He still looks pretty beat up, but is recovering. Lucky me I didnt eat anything there. read more

Thank you to the subway Alpine. My father was honored today with his name on the veterans memorial wall. We had 31 family members at the ceremony. We ordered food trays from this subway and it was perfect. My grandson has extreme allergies and the sandwich you made for him was perfect. It was eaten quickly and was all the others. Tried to call in for a takeout order on Wednesday the 10th of October. I made 17 calls from 6:41 until 6:54. The two girls working there were not busy as my friend was present at the time I was calling. I, in fact, had him take pictures of how busy it was and the 2 employees present. They actually picked up the phone once and kept it off the hook. The owner of the 3 Subways is now down to 2 as he had to close one. You can see why. No customer service, cheap wages he's paying to his employees and revolving door employees. I look forward to his having to close another. Nice franchisee. This subway located in Albertsons shopping center is wonderful with or without cookies. My husband stops by frequently after work to bring Subway home for dinner so I dont have to cook in the heat. Two young men named Bo and Michael have served him in the past and he always compliments their service. We both stopped in last night about 7:30pm before grocery shopping. Michael was on duty. Big smile as soon as we walked in. Welcomed us properly. We took his suggestion on a new ranch chicken sandwich which didnt disappoint. Our sandwich was delicious. Michaels customer service was excellent and the resturant was spottless. Doesnt get any better tan that! :) read more
