I've worked in the food industry for about 8 years, including have worked at a Subway location before. I know when I see a micro manager. Poor girl who looks like she is in training, being scrutinized the whole time. Manager who is reading this... Employees need to be told and shown appreciation! She seemed to be doing a great job. Customers do not like to see employees being mistreated, nor do they like to be mistreated I'm sure. I find it funny that he was so critical of her, when he doesn't seem to be good at his own job. He was extremely skimpy with all items and I had to ask multiple times for xtra items. When he put a tiny bit of mustard I asked for more, and he proceeded to basically pour the whole bottle onto my sub lol. I have visited this specific Subway multiple times, and they have always accepted my coupon without any issues. However, during my recent visit, the employee did not tell me the sandwich was invalid until I was in the middle of the transaction. She said the coupon was not valid for the sandwich I have been ordering for many years. Other Subway locations usually have a clear list of which coupon sandwiches are accepted, but this one did not, which caused confusion. As a result, I had to pay over $30 for two sandwiches, even though the coupon was supposed to cover $16 for two sandwiches. This was disappointing and unexpected. I was craving subway last night but I didn't make it in time they were CLOSED!!!! So, I came in today I got a 6 inch Spicy Italian w/the Italian cheesy bread I asked him to take out the bread inside and they always do that for me!!! Just ask NICELY ALWAYS!!! I had a bag of the Fritos bbq twists chips at home. When I got there it was DEAD inside it was just me there and the employee inside the store. The sub was always fast and easy sometimes depending on the day. I go here bc it's super duper close to my pad. Unable to leave zero stars but would've if I was able. I had two orders, back to back on my phone, payments went through for EACH!!! Went to the Castaic store to pick up my orders and they gave my husband ONLY ONE. When he came home I told them there was a second order. He goes to pick it up and they said there was no order. I sent proof of the funds coming out of my bank account TWICE (for both orders) with THEIR store number and phone number listed. They claim they didn't get it...BS!!! They were more than happy to charge my account for the order but REFUSED to provide my sandwiches. Very sad bc I order and/or went there a lot! I wouldn't go back if it were the only place open! I would give this place zero stars if possible. Maybe the employee was new, but if that was the case, then their employee training must be really bad. Problem points: 1. Didn't greet customers. 2. When I said I wanted, "Oven Roasted Chicken", the employee reached for just normal chicken rather than the one I wanted. I had to point out that he was grabbing the wrong one. 3. He didn't heat up the oven roasted chicken, and was ready to build the sandwich with the frozen meat. 4. Skimped out on ingredients. 5. When I said I wanted pickles, he said that he had already put it in my sandwich. I checked after... he did not. 6. Forgot about the sauce. 7. Forgot about the banana peppers that I had wanted on the side. This place needs better customer service as well as better employee training. I wish I could give a negative number, but I can't. WE love giving back to our community and showing small businesses support, especially during these times, but I am done with this location. More often than not they have screwed up our orders, requiring us to return and bring the wrong sandwiches back and they will remake them. How about you doing it correctly the first time? How do they handle thier consistant screwups? They offer to do nothing other than remake the screwed up food and if I complain enough they throw in a cookie or two. I didn't want a cookie nor did I ask for a cookie. AND a cookie does NOT fix the constant errors, gas and time wasted bringing the food back to have something fixed. Yesterday was the final straw. See photos as they clearly show what was ordered and what we did NOT want on the sandwhiches. My guess is they simply made the sandwhich the regular way its listed and never bothered to read what we actually ordered. This happens a lot! Sadly, I am not surprised since the manager or owner is horrid himself and lacks any sort of customer service. He has the genius idea that cookies fix the problem and its not a big deal that they nessed up again. I spoke to him myself when we got home from using our app to order with totally wrong sandwhiches. Mine was the spicy italian and I requested NO onions ( in the app I removed them) and on my order they are clearly not listed. I requested olives and extra cucumbers. Along with the Subway oil and red vinegar, pepper jack cheese toasted...thats the different items on mine. The first time I got no olives and extra red onions. I did get extra cucumbers though and oil and vinegar. The redo I had a total of 6 cucumber slices on a 6ft sandwhich. Thats 3 slices each half. Thats not extra. Although they did correctly leave off the onions this time they failed to put any oil or vinegar on it so I had a toasted DRY sandwich. Again I spoke to manager myself and he even made a comment on how the employee put extra of the requested items on my sandwhich yet when he redid them he failed to do it correctly, including the items he mentioned. My sons chicken bacon sandwich requested more olives, red onions, toasted and extra sweet onion sauce. He did not want cheese nor bell peppers due to allergies, yet he got both of those and almost no sweet onion sauce. HIs redo included almost no sweet onion sauce, infact he stood there while the indifferent manager was making his again and he commented on the lack of sauce. Still not done correctly. Once again I told the manager when I called, that I was done with the constant mistakes and expected a discount this time of some sort. He ignored me and said they would fix. I stated my son was coming in. He said to be sure to bring food back with receipt. Conveniently he failed to return my reciept to my son(I have it in my app though as you can see below) and his response about fixing the problem was to give us four stale dry chocolate chip cookies which I threw away. I know they were stale by texture and I had my hubbie take a bite and he confirmed. This location is horrid. Seriously. I have liked several of the workers as they are sweet and friendly, but as a business it is awful. Of course when you have terrible management or ownership you will always have problems. I have spent my last penny in this place. Sad, since its only minutes from my home, but I cant stand bad customer service and this is beyond bad. This location is beyond bad. They have zero customer service. I had waited to review hoping they would improve, but they have only gotten worse. When I told my husband how horrible the service was and how I was given cookies to make good on their screwup he laughed saying "oh it must by that male manager or owner himself isnt it? He is the worst. Stingy and could care less about anything but himself. " I suggest if you want your food made right and you want to contribute to a business that actually cares about its customers, GO ELSEWHERE! We have purchased sandwiches to go for years while on the road to and from Los Angeles. I am surprised at the poor reviews, as we have had good service and good sandwiches from this store. Service has been quick, and we have eaten almost all the sandwiches, hot/cold, daily specials, you name it, we have ordered it. They always give us good food, about the same as any Subway. It is easy off/easy on I 5, good for travelers. A nice break from all the taco trucks lol. read more

You thought I was gone from Yelp?! Well, my diet and workout seems to have broken the plateau. I have lost 54-55 pounds and I am about 35 lbs away from 240. With tonight's Komodo Launch Party, I had to save some room in my stomach. Unfortunately, I am at work right now and I got SUPER HUNGRY!! I wanted something fast, but not disgusting. Subway was the closest thing...and YES...I did eat healthy...to an extent. I arrived to the Castaic area around 12:08pm. There are two Subways closer to my work, but its no fun to drive to a place near work. This Subway is located next to Foster Freeze and Domino's Pizza. As I about to walk in, I saw the Indian female employee just waiting for a customer. OK, this reminds me of Babu from Seinfeld. I felt awkward from the start to the end. I ordered a 6" Oven Roasted Chicken on Wheat. I think she said, "Do you want it cooked?" In my head, it seemed the question lasted in my head forever, but I said "Yes" to whatever she asked. I think thats why you call it Oven Roasted, when in fact, its [steamed] microwaved (Super Nintendo Chalmers/Principlal Skinner reference). I did not get cheese, because its not good for me at this stage of my diet. My sandwich was pretty plain. I had onions, tomatoes, green peppers, and I think lettuce. I already ate the sandwich and I don't remember. Of course, no dressing to ruin my day. The sandwich was $4.00, but my total was $4.39. I think she was wondering why a big guy like me is eating a small portion. At the same time, I felt like I was in an abandoned city with just the employee. I'm not sure what the bad reviews are about. I come here all the time and every single person who works here is friendly and they don't try to gip me out of extra spinach. Super clean too. Since it's in Castaic, it's not usually too busy too which is great when you're starving and need something in your belly quick. Also parking is easy - usually find a spot, even in my minivan - in the parking lot or just on the nearby street. read more

This Subway doesn't have a bathroom and you have to walk down to the laundromat. The store itself is okay, but the bathroom comment is important because when you're traveling, a stop to eat most usually involves trips to the bathroom. Thyis was very inconvenient. I just had surgery and couldn't eat any solids. Went there just to buy a soup and my broccoli cheddar soup was nothing but water. Not creamy at all. Spilled all over me. If I could give 0 stars I would. Here are the reasons you shouldn't go here. 1.We ordered three sandwiches and we were in there for 30 min (no exaggeration) 2. The girl might of been new so nothing against her but the other girl just sat back and watched her suffer 3. For a steak and cheese sandwich she put the meat on paper to heat it up not the bread 4. We had to ask the other girl to help the new girl and she was snotty about it like she didn't want to have to work 5. Another customer came in while we were there and got his sandwich and left and the girl that helped him just went to the back while the new girl was suffering trying to make our sandwiches 6. Even the owner, who was in when I went in today, has the personality of a brick. And I have never seen such poor sandwiches made. They hardly put any ingredients. I ordered a 6" Tuna. Super-helpful and responsive manager! I knew I would be traveling I-5 with a busload of 55 teens and chaperones, and would need to stop for lunch somewhere south of Buttonwillow. I discovered that Subway will do box lunches (yay!) and that you can pre-order them (double yay!) I checked out several Subways in the region by phone and on Google maps, and this one seemed the most prepared to handle our large order. I contacted the manager by phone and email and he was fantastically responsive every time. I was able to email him our order, and he even numbered the boxes for us according to our list, to make them easier to distribute. He also kept them in the fridge until we arrived (we got a late start). [A tip for other large groups (one I will remember for next time): find a park nearby ahead of time, pick up the box lunches and head over to the park to eat. People can stretch their legs and you don't have to tell them that no they can't leave the group to go over to the 7-11!] There is a single bathroom, and is was quite clean. Disappointed with our experience tonight. Besides the lack of customer service, on two of the steak sandwiches ordered, there wasn't enough steak used for each sandwich to even have a 6". When questioning the amount of steak used, I was given the sarcastic answer of their two scoop rule. I can say two scoops were not used, at least not full scoops. The sandwiches did not compare to previously made sandwiches. After getting the sandwiches home the bread was stale on the 6" purchased and I am pretty sure the Turkey may be bad. Asked for light mustard, gave me extra mustard. He put enough for the whole sandwich to just taste like mustard, couldnt even enjoy the sandwich I paid for. The man that was working wasn't very customer friendly and made it seem like we were bothering him. It's a subway as you leave the LA area. It's got parking, and AC is on inside: great. I got a sandwich and they had managed to break the bread and drop 2 meatballs. They tried repairing it, and after getting it toasted, it came out burnt. They just kept right on truckin like nothing was wrong. Service was mediocre and food wasn't good at all (burnt taste). As a currier I dine out a lot and my brain automatically thinks subway for cheap sandwich joint. But man my past two breakfast experiences have been very disappointing. Maybe it's early but my servers at both this location And another one down in Santa Clarita were just dead. I was half expecting a wind up in the back if my server. The franchise owner is a crook and a liar. I specified order to go and he entered to dine in. Orders that are cold sandwiches to go do not get charged tax. When I informed him he overcharged me on tax because it was supposed to be to go and no tax on cold food he played stupid and claimed he didnt even know how to read the receipt as well as the tax law. If it would have been an honest mistake than I would have no problem. But to lie and play stupid made it clear he did it on purpose. This clown doesn't deserve your business.
