We recently started getting more food, and their chicken strips are fried fresh and nice and juicy. Unfortunately the 7-11 next door has decided to expand their gas station and that means this restaurant will be closing in the next few months. Castaic has 8 gas stations so I don't know why the heck they feel that they need another one over closing this small business. This sweet husband and wife work hard here and I'm sad to see them lose their business. So please support them until they close. read more

I can't believe it I knew one day that this place would close best burgers and fries and soft serve on my trips from LA To San Francisco I would always stop here because of the nice couple that ran it I'll miss you guys so sad I didn't get to say goodbye. The staff were super friendly. I can't speak on the inside ambiance - the interior was closed for to being short staffed so you could only use the drive thru. The dragon fruit shake was DELICIOUS and I made a coffee/peanut butter/chocolate shake and it was perfect. Great crinkle fries too! read more

This place may seem kind of tumbledown and not the best kept-up, but it makes up for any of that with sincere service, kindness, and excellent food. It's called a Foster's but seems to be its own thing, and its own thing is good. I love that it's a family business, and I'll be back to help support them. You should too! read more

We wanted to order inside and sit down but the dining room is permanently closed. The drive-thru menu is badly faded and hard to read. The employee inside and I could not hear each other properly on the intercom that clearly hasn't been updated since 1965. It was that stereotypically bad. We left mid-order. read more

The drive thru is horrid. The guy rushes you. Even when it's not crowded I feel rushed at the speaker. He's very nice when you pull up. I would be too if my food prices were as ridiculously high as theirs for the amount of food they give you. Pictures of my $6 chili cheese fries. Any other burger spot, give you the square styrofoam container filled! This place gives you the Disneyland portions and prices. I'd recommend the ice cream only here, you will be hungry still after and upset at your spend otherwise. (Spent 21 bucks on a Chili dog, my chili fries and 2 twister ice creams which I thought I could order Jr. Sizes for 2.99 but you're only given the option in real life of medium or large (5 bucks and up). read more

First time I stopped here and the cheeseburger was really dry and tasted pretty bad and I decided to dissect it, what I found was wilted and black lettuce, the tomato was very mushy, overall the patty and burger was dry and flavorless. I also ordered the shrimp and chips which were over cooked and some of the breading was hard. They were definitely overcooked and in some oil that's probably not very clean. I'm sad about my experience. I wish you guys cared more about your customers than pinching pennies. read more

This place is great, I think it's family-owned which is always nice. When I went the inside was closed but they did have a drive-through which moved pretty quickly. The first time I went I got an Oreo Twister. This is where I made a couple of mistakes. As I was looking over the menu I saw the Twister prices and they were really cheap so I assumed they weren't going to be that big and ordered the largest Twister they had. My girlfriend even questioned me why I was getting the largest size. We pull up to the window and the guy hand my girlfriend her twister which is a pretty big cup for being called a "Junior". Then the guy handed me my cup and that's when I realized I over-ordered. The cup that came out was about 1.5X a Mcdonald's large soda cup and it was just filled with ice cream. To end my story my girlfriend told me that I wouldn't be able to finish it and to prove her wrong I finished that sucker. Was it worth it to finish it and prove my girlfriend wrong? it's very convenient to have a drive-through. Everyone was really friendly here. My sister and I got dipped ice cream in the cup which included a cherry and whipped cream. A small and a large was a little less than $10. this is one of those places that looks really outdated but it kind of keeps the old charm. Yelp needs to update. There has been no indoor seating for several years since Covid. No outdoor seating, only drive-thru. The owners are doing their best with very limited resources. Hard to find this kind of ice cream place anymore, so enjoy it while you can, but keep your expectations in check. Drive or walk up to their drive thru window to place your order. My personal go-to item is an orange freeze. It was the perfect thing on a hot day. The man and woman behind the window are very friendly and show their appreciation for your business. There is no dine-in service available at this time, however there are plenty of free parking spaces in their parking lot. read more

The positive, a kind woman took our order and brought it out with a warm smile. The not so great, no dining inside the restaurant, no outside tables, all orders are placed at same small drive through window, which had a customers on foot dodging and intermixed w cars. It seemed terribly unsafe and I doubt legal. It resulted in lots of frustration and confusion. Unlike any other Fosters or any other fast food establishment I have ever visited, no tap water is available, nor bathrooms. Fries are so over seasoned they tasted like salt sticks. Burger buns were very dry, like they were stale but tasted reasonably good. Meat patties were flavorless but cooked reasonably well. Onion rings were black, burnt and tasteless. Great service, but not much else to recommend. Maybe a better ice cream stop as long as you do not hit anyone trying to maneuver through the drive through. read more

I recently stop at this Foster's Freeze because I really like the owners and when I'm in the area I love to eat there. Unfortunately this trip was so disappointing that I would have driven back (if it wasn't a hassle to drive so far to get an off ramp). I would have told them how awful my burger tasted. It seems their standards have dropped. Either they have changed the quality of the meat or just overcooked it until it was thin and dry as cardboard. $7 worth of cardboard. If things remain like this it's not worth patronizing it any longer. It means they just don't care what they serve. I'm hoping it was just an off day. I hope they read this because I bet I'm not the only dissatisfied customer. Please improve your food. read more

Love this Fosters freeze! We stopped on our way to San Francisco from Orange County then stopped again on our way home. Reasonable prices. Super nice family running it. It takes a little while but we don't mind. The ice creams great and that's what matters most.
