It was the best place I ate on my weeklong trip in August, and it was once again the best place I ate on my ski trip this past weekend. A lot of pubs have burgers, fries, a few sandwiches, that sort of thing. It gets repetitive. O'Donnell's has that, but really knocks it out of the park with their main courses. You get the pub atmosphere, and good hearty food, but so much more variety than most places, and it's all delicious. Perhaps most impressive of all, they rotate in a variety of specials, and those are really good too. Their kitchen staff is versatile and skilled. The first time I went, I had a grouper special, with rice and vegetables, all cooked really nicely, not dry at all, and well flavored. Dessert was chocolate Guiness cake with Bailey's frosting, which was as good as it sounds. A few days later, I got the blackened chicken alfredo. Although not quite as gobsmackingly impressive as what I had the first time, it was still a really solid pasta dish. Five months later, I was back, and went with another special, the Berkshire pork chop, with homemade mashed potatoes as the side. Both were really good, but the mashed potatoes - best I've had in years. And carrot cake for dessert - not quite as unique as the Guiness cake, but another really good dessert. It also has a great atmosphere to dine in and really good service. Allison was working at least the first and third times I was there, still remembered me five months later, and was just as good at taking a phone-in order this weekend as the in-person ones earlier. They have their regulars who go there for the food and service, but also make newcomers welcome. Excellent staff. People around town recognize their food too. On Saturday, they were closing a bit early due to the snow, so I took my takeout up to Yough River Brewing (which welcomes outside food). At one point a man asked if my food was from O'Donnell's, and I said that it is, and a few minutes later I'm talking with his friend, the mayor, who loves O'Donnell's as well. And no wonder! This would be on my regular rotation if I lived nearby.

There are also times where the wait is unbearably long, staff is inattentive (sometimes even rude) and orders are wrong. That being said, this is the kind of place that I don't go often, but every now and then I crave their hush puppies and fish or chicken. Because whatever batter they use is magical. Friends and I have joked that they should sell the pieces that fall off the fried items as a side because everyone seems to love the crispy batter pieces so much. When the food is cooked fresh, it is delicious! A perfect crisp and packed with flavor. But if you have the unfortunate experience of something that has been out for awhile, you likely get a soggy mess. Their prices are comparable to other fast food in the area and they often have weekly or monthly specials on certain combinations or food items, so definitely check on that. Oh - their drive through area is definitely not the most well maintained. It had a lot of pot holes, so just be aware if you are getting food that way. All that being said, when I have had any issues with food, management was generally apologetic and did what they could to make it right. Not an all the time spot for me, but someplace to enjoy when the craving hits.

It was to order the captain's platter, off of their secret menu. But of course nobody knew what I was talking about.. It was to order all of their fried meats off of the menu. I did however peace and order together and cover it.. my bill being about $22.00 . I was with a group of people so I was very interested to see how long it was for them to put it together . All of our orders came out at the same time nothing was burnt or overcooked. Everything a good flavor for what you expect at Long Johns Silvers. I ordered corn as a side that itself is very nasty. I don't recommend that. Now for service, it was friendly and accurate. The bathroom however was heavily dated and a little gross lacking paper towels, and overall cleanliness. Has an over experience I would come back here. I would probably order the same thing again for the most part..

I will never go there again and I wouldn't suggest you get your hopes up if you're going there. And I give the one star because they don't have a negative one.

The food has been good both times, but the service has been absolutely horrendous. The first trip was later at night around 9:00 pm with my girlfriend. We went through the drive-thru and ordered two meals. We pulled up to pay and the girl working behind the counter handed us two bags and one drink. She set the other drink right by the window. We waited for the other drink and checked the bags as she walked away from the window and we noticed that we were missing our sauces and cheese for her fries. She quickly notices us waiting and opens the window and rudely asks us what the problem is. We told her we were missing a drink, sauces, and cheese for the fries. She hands us the drink and hands me one sauce when I asked for a few when we ordered. Then she says that she didn't charge us for the cheese (when we requested it when we ordered) and that she needed to see my card again. Food was great, but service was disappointing. The second trip was also later at night around 8:00 pm also with my girlfriend. We ate dinner at home and were hungry for milkshakes. Arby's has pretty good milkshakes so we went through the drive-thru to order them. My girlfriend got a mint chocolate chip milkshake and I got the jamocha milkshake. I ordered and asked for the two shakes and the girl working said no. That was it. Just a no. I just waited a few seconds until she said to pull around. We get to the window and pay and she slams the window in my face after paying. She hands us the milkshakes and asks if we need any sauce for them, laughs, and shuts the window. I would suggest going during lunch hours when they have more workers that are trained better and are more professional. The night shift workers just don't care and are not close to being professional. Food is always good but the night service is not.
