This was one of the fast food places we found on the way. This was the first time ever I've seen the original mascot Speedee at a McDonald's. I didn't know there was a different mascot prior to Ronald McDonald. This little guy is a jaunty, pudgy, winking little chef with a hamburger for a head and a chef's hat meant to advertise McDonald's speedy service. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of him ¯\_('~')_/¯ He was also the first company logo before the use of the arches design from 1962. They retired Mr Speedee in 1962, one year after they started using the arches. The Golden Arches is how I identify McDonald's. Some older McDonald's stores still have a Speedee sign in front. This location looks like a new or re-built one without updating the sign. It was pretty neat to see. Loved how they made their Filet-O-Fish. Tasty, fresh, and delicious. Good amount of tartar sauce too! Friendly service. This McDonald's is located at a Gulf gas station in Ludlow MA. Review #3007
