I noticed they had a Beyond Burger on the menu and asked if by chance they could sub that in the smash burger tacos and the chef happened to be standing right behind us so the bartender (our server) asked if he could make it happen and he said he was happy to accommodate. Well I was blown away by those tacos! We were so happy this friendly couple recommended that we come here. We were most definitely impressed! It seems like quite a popular spot for locals and it's no telling why. There was a live guitarist playing outside and a DJ inside. Not only was the food good, so was the entertainment. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

I ordered the Pink Eldorado Margarita and it was really tasty. For food, I had the mac and cheese with fried chicken, and my husband ordered the surf and turf burger. Both dishes were good, but we both agreed the mac and cheese was the standout. The fried chicken on top really made the dish. The breading was light and crispy, and the chicken itself was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The only things that could have made the experience better were that our table was a little sticky and there was a slightly funky smell inside the restaurant. Aside from that, the service and food were great, and we appreciated Jaime taking such good care of us.

The storefront is not anything special. However, the interior was quite nice though it was very small. There was capacity for perhaps 25 people or so inside and it was full when we visited on a Wednesday morning at about 10 AM. But there were also a couple of outside tables and we grabbed one of those to enjoy our food. In addition to bagels, they offered some enticing baked goods. Our grandson chose one of those items, a lovely, nice-sized cinnamon roll which he enjoyed very much. My wife and I both had the Breakfast Special "Eggle", which was an Egg, Meat and Cheese on a bagel. We chose bacon, though my wife skipped the cheese. My Everything bagel that I selected was particularly good. This was a great deal as the bagel was bundled with coffee for only $5. Overall, our expenditure for food, drink, tax and tip was about $20. This was a terrific deal by today's standards. The service here was excellent. The people working were efficient and quite friendly. If you are in the area and looking for a moderately-portioned cost-effective option compared to pricey hotel breakfasts, this is a pleasant choice. It's got a great local vibe with good food.

This means nothing fancy. Good people, good food, good prices. I think I can safely say this is literally the best corned beef hash ever. So over the top good with homemade corned beef. The Culinary Institute of America. Our daughter actually graduated from their Baking & Pastry program in San Antonio, so we were already inclined to give the place a try. But I digress. The moment you walk in, the smell of bacon smacks you right in the face. In the best possible way. So. Dang. Good. We stopped in on a busy Sunday afternoon. The dining room was hopping. A few tables could have been bussed a little quicker, my chair needed a quick swipe-down before I sat, and there were a few chips hanging out on the floor. Normally I'd notice those things more, but then the bacon smell hit again and suddenly none of it seemed quite as important. I ordered two perfectly cooked over-medium eggs, sliced tomatoes (instead of potatoes), and a biscuit. I chose the biscuit over toast or an English muffin with absolutely no intention of eating it. My plan was to take it home for one of the kids. Then I took one bite. Friends, this was THE best biscuit I have ever eaten in my entire life. I don't throw around statements like that lightly. If you visit Banana River Cafe and order absolutely nothing else, order the biscuits. They deserve their own Yelp page. My husband got what I think was called the Power Bowl--a delicious-looking pile of rice, beans, carnitas, and all the ingredients that make a great burrito bowl. Our son absolutely housed his French toast. Our daughter ordered the Rosemary Chicken Salad Wrap with pasta salad. I sampled the chicken salad. It had a whisper of rosemary. A polite suggestion of rosemary. A rosemary cameo appearance. If you're going to call it Rosemary Chicken Salad, I'd personally vote for a little more rosemary. My daughter loved it, though. She also loved the pasta salad but wasn't a fan of the Parmesan sprinkled on top. If Parmesan must be involved, let's keep it to the kind that comes from a block and not the green plastic shaker. Just my two cents. The staff was friendly, service was great, and soda refills appeared before we even had to ask. I also loved the local artwork displayed throughout the restaurant. Every piece has a price tag, so if something catches your eye, you can literally take it home with you. Great food, great service, incredible biscuits, and enough bacon aroma to improve your mood instantly. We'll definitely be back.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more It is only fitting that I check out another breakfast/brunch place with the iconic American breakfast staple "biscuit" mentioned in their name. As for such locales within the Space Coast, this is the third one (off the top of my head) I have had the pleasure to dine in, right after "Oh" and "Twisted." So was Grumpy's Biscuits (which I will shorthand simply to Grumpy's for the remainder of this review) just another fine establishment to add to other fine breakfast estabishments here on the coast that shoots off rockets, or did they standout. I am happy to review that Grumpy's has enough subtlety to standout without smashing the competition. That is something I admire because I prefer options within harmony, Competition amongst competitors to improve one's self. Even though an address is provided, Grumpy's is located on Highland Ave., just north of the westbound part of Eau Gallie Blvd. within the EGAD. If it helps, it is right across the street from the EGAD Civic Center. First and foremost, the building Grumpy's is located in is an iconic landmard within the EGAD. Grumpy's shares the building with other businesses in which they occupy the southernmost business space, which is quite small with a small indoor eating area and a small outdoor patio with each table having individual umbrellas for shade or rain cover. It fits as Grumpy's is said in two phrases: "simple and trendy" and "cozy." The workers and owner are friendly and hospitable, and they assisted me in deciding on what to eat, which they have given each of their biscuits/sandwiches/etc. a female name. I chose "Lisa," a breakfast biscuit consisting of bacon, over easy egg, smoked gouda, mixed greens, and housemade balsamic glaze. Couple of notes about this amazing biscuit, the bacon were thick cut and candied. Truly amazing. And the balsamic glaze. Whatever their recipe is, it is amazing. I could definitely have that on many a meal. Yes, I know exactly how I wrote that! As for the coffee, I got an iced coffee which is premade and ready-to-serve. They use half-and-half and stevia in the raw. Ergo, the coffee was what I wanted. Finally, the restroom. Take note the "water closet" is outside in the hallway. Since the restaurant is small, it is a single-server. Fortunately, it was stocked and clean. There was also an "ambiance" of class, which is nice given the fact the restaurant is... well... small... and the restroom is probably shared with the other businesses, too. Ultimately, Grumpy's was an amazing initial visit and I look forward to visiting them again. Since this is the first and only time (so far) I have been here, I will give them four out of five stars. After a couple more visits, if they stay consistent, I will add their fifth star for consistency.

Now to be fair it was a to-go order so when I got to work it wasn't as fresh maybe as it should. Biscuit was good sized and tasty, a bit dry, sausage was very tasty and egg was half an omelette....not sure if there was cheese on it, maybe in the egg omelette and I just didn't see it or taste it. I would try it again, next time maybe add butter to the biscuit, a little less egg and cheese that is melted somewhere on it.

Unfortunately today was a really bad day! I called and told the woman on the phone we want to eat under the pergola. She said we aint got that. I responded on your deck with the plants. She said we ain't got a deck. Have you ever been here? I said yes many times. I just want to eat our food on the patio under the pergola. She said I don't even know what that is. I explained, but then I said we would like to order an orange soda with cups. She said we dont do that on the phone. You can do that when u get here, we dont do that on the phone... Okay? We arrive i go in to pay. I ask if the bathrooms are available, she said no we don't let customers use them. I said Im sorry I know last time we were where here they were under construction, but we need to use the bathroom and wash our hands. She responded we don't let anyone use them. I told her thats a violation and you cannot deny a paying customer a bathroom. She said she would ask. I asked if the owner was around. She said I am the owner and my mom is here. She went to ask and never came back. I stood there for a few mins. Realized I never ordered a large soda for the table. Still she never came back. She went outside to talk to her man instead that was outside. I peered over to a familiar face (blonde lady, very sweet always). I told her I wanted to buy a soda. She came around. Then as I walked out I peered through the open door to the kitchen and I asked if her and the other lady ( who is also the owner, never met her. Only the gentleman who is probably her husband?).(male owner i have met handful of times is very nice). Anyway they told me like the daughter at the counter to use the restroom next door. (Same as a few weeks ago). I wouldn't have even cared even though annoyed about the bathroom like the last time if it wasn't for the daughter's crap attitude from the phone call to paying... plus the daughters boyfriend that was outside smoking a blunt look strung out! So yeaaa great experience of 50, 60 dollars!!!!!!!! And the plants are slowly dying. Sad bc it was gorgeous for a while. Not a great experience. Still have four stars for the years of a nice time til the last two and especially this last time! I will be there again in the future with the family but I will make sure I do the same time (early lunch) to not run into issues at hand this time.

Was greeted at the counter overlooking the kitchen by Anna, who was very pleasant and answered all of questions. What's great is that you not only order by roll size but also by meat ounces. Got a large steak and cheese with caramelized onions to split back at home which was plenty for 2 adults. Anna did tell me their seasoned fries and beer battered onion rings are very popular as well so will have to try next time. Meat was perfectly cooked and the not toasted (my request) roll wasn't soggy after it consumed about 40 minutes later which says a lot. Not salty so you really taste all the ingredients. Many choices on cheeses as well. Price was on point as well. AC was nice and cold too. Lots of locals eat here so you know it's good especially with all the choices of Philly type sandwiches beachside. Nice booths, tables in the middle and about 5 stools at the counter. This place was hopping on a weekday but you could still carry on a conversation. Check out their menu. Highly recommend.
