First time ordering from this location a friend of mine recommended. Ordered over the phone for lunch and went to pick up. I personally ordered the seafood chaufa which was absolutely out of this world! So flavorful and for about $20 it was plentiful I shared with a friend. My other friends ordered a soup and a fish platter (not pictured). The location is very comfy and cozy. You can sit down and eat for a quick meal or sit down dinner. The staff is pleasant service was Good. Id love to come back and try more of their menu items!

Good service. There was a nice lady at the counter smiling and taking orders. It's a small place that seems to be a spot locals frequent. We saw a lot of traffic going in and out for pick up orders which is nice to see. The food was pretty good. Very large portion of fries that were fresh. The chicken was good but a little salty for my liking. Really tender though. If I were in the area again I would eat from this place. Oh and I also picked up a slice of chocolate cake that I enjoyed. Not a bad spot in Elizabeth.

La Caravana is a tiny shack off 2nd St in the Elizabethport area. They make arguably the best Peruvian rotisserie chicken (pollo a la brasa) in the area. Their aji sauce is delectable and their fresh cut fries are equally addicting. A whole chicken costs $17 and comes with a large tray of fries or rice with a side salad. In addition, they also have a full a la carte menu with typical Peruvian dishes, but a bulk of their business is their chicken for takeout. The menu items are a tad more expensive than similar locations, but the portions tend to scale with them.

If you are looking for a good peruvian food, you won't be disappointed! Just remember this and many peruvian restaurants are small! Therefore; most people order for take out. Dine in has only few tables and the staff, specially Ms Cecilia are very attentive. During peak hours you might have to wait a little longer since it gets really busy with take out orders. The only pet peeves I have it's the beeping from the smoke detector due to batteries that are never replaced.

Great Peruvian Food & great service! They have $14 dollar TRAYS of lomo saltado (steak, fries and rice with tomatoes & onions). Their rotisserie chicken is also tasty and a great price! They are usually closed on Tuesdays and unlike the one that located in Passaic the staff is much nicer and accommodating. One of my favorite go to restaurants thats a hidden gem.

Visiting from south Florida I must say they have the best pollo a la brasa I've tried in the states. The flavor profile it's as close to the Pollo a la brasa in Peru that you're going to get. For this reason alone you should come and get your pollo on. The reason for the 3 stars is the rest of the food. Even though its good it still lacks some of the distinct flavor Peruvian food is know for. We ordered the Jalea familiar which was huge and can feed up to four ppl as your main dish. We were given a mountain of perfectly fried to golden perfection fish, mussels, calamari, and shrimp. On top of your seafood mountain you'll find an onion and tomato mixture which goes perfect with all that fried goodness.I personally would have like this to be seasoned a little more and to be served with lime wedges. We also ordered anticuchos which were served with potato and Peruvian corn. This is were the let down happened. Anticuchos are supposed to be extremely packed with flavor and what we got lacked that quality. They needed to either marinate them longer or vamp up the marinade they use. What seemed to be popular and very inexpensive at only $7.99 was their daily special. You got a huge bowl of chicken soup, the entree for the day was tallarin con pollo, and a salad. 90% of the restaurant ordered this and the portions were big. I would definitely keep coming back for their amazing pollo a la brasa. Also their cash only and no atm in plaza.

Ladies are rude, food is undercooked, the alfajores are burnt and dry. Waitress had an attitude and pointed at a sign with inccorect grammar. No reason to be so mean when your getting paid to serve.

Great food. The chicken is to die for. But, It is a kind of annoying that they do not take debit or credit cards.

Decided to try it and when we arrived it was empty with street parking. It was a Tuesday night and pretty cold which is why I'm guessing no one was there. Lots of seating options, bathrooms were clean and they had a big screen of music playing. The waitress was very friendly and took our drink orders and food orders right away. We got the chicken and anticuchos along with chicha morada. Food came out fast and the plates were huge. Waitress was very attentive and brought out all the sauces, extra napkins and was on sight in case we needed anything. Food was great, cooked how we asked for it and potatoes were not burnt. I was happy with my order and experience and recommend this place.

As the name suggests, they specialize in pollo a la brasa, rotisserie chicken cooked over charcoal, typically accompanied with fresh cut french fries and salad. In addition, they offer daily specials, and a full a la carte menu. Perhaps most importantly, this is a place that cares about its sauce selection. You'll feel like a true painter armed with the plate as your palette. When I received my meal, the waitress even double-checked to make sure all the sauces were all full. Their chicken comes with 3 sauces (also called cremas or aji): - the yellow sauce - huancaina - the green sauce - aji verde - the brown/reddish - olive sauce, salsa de aceituna

Upon walking in, there's a strong aromatic smell of hot Peruvian dishes, either lomo saltado, or chaufa. There were several tables occupied by locals for lunch when I arrived. The architecture of the restaurant is a tad strange, although homely in its decorations, the restaurant being split in two halves by walls. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, full of smiles. The menu consists of seafood dishes (stewed and steamed fish, breaded, jalea, ceviche, soups, etc.) as well as other typical Peruvian dishes such as saltado, chaufa, bistec a lo pobre, and more, excluding pollo a la brasa. In addition, they have a whiteboard with daily specials. I went with the ceviche de pescado as well as a cup of chicha morada. The chicha was excellent with strong sweet flavor, topped with fruit. The ceviche was of great portion ($13), a nice crunchy but cooked fish taste, balanced by the lime and onions. It came with corn and a steamed sweet potato on the side, as is typical. It was served in a shallow fish-shaped dish, allowing ease of drinking the leche de tigre. As you can see in the picture of the ceviche, there is much attention paid to the variety of spices and herbs to the dish. The fact that the dish is very green, and there are fine chopped hot peppers are good signs! I look forward to returning to try some of their many hot dishes next!

It's a country where its…read morerich culture also shines through its internationally acclaimed exquisite cuisine, which has only recently exploded onto the international culinary stage. It is among the most generous and deeply rooted, with traditions reaching back to the Incas, a wealth of beautiful indigenous ingredients and culinary influences from Spain, Japan, Italy, Africa and China. Jersey is home to a wealth of Peruvian restaurants, found largely in Bergen, Hudson and Passaic counties. Passaic itself is home to the largest Peruvian immigrant population in the Garden State. Like food everywhere today, there is a new style of Peruvian cuisine emerging--so-called nueva comida--forged by Lima's leading chefs like Gaston Acurio and Pedro Miguel Schiaffino. Situated on a busy N Wood Avenue in Linden, some of my colleagues came to this establishment for lunch after a three-year hiatus. A reservation was made by calling into Stancia Peruvian Fusion Restaurant. Upon arrival, our table was ready inside a modern, well-decorated space with music blasting like a lounge to evoke a summer celebratory vibe. The menu is a bit fancier than other Peruvian eateries. We began with a jar of their homemade drink, Chicha Morada, made of purple corn, pineapple, lime, cinnamon and cloves described as fruity and tangy. As appetizers to share, we decided on Piqueo Stancia, Chalaquitas de Scallops, Calamar Frito, and Mini Papas-Rellenas. As the main dish, we opted for Pescado A Lo Macho (Corvina), Quinoa Chaufa with Scallops, Tacu Tacu con Lomo Saltado, Quinoa Chaufa with Shrimps, Quinoa Chaufa with Salmon, Tacu Tacu with Chicken, Pachamanca, and Arroz Chaufa de Pollo. Complimentary roasted corn accompanied the aji verde spicy hot green sauce that started our meal. Each dish is a work of art, not just in presentation but in the authentic flavor not too overpowering, it remained exquisite with a sizeable portion. This restaurant continues to impress us every time with their consistency and good customer service. Stancia has incredible food and a beautiful space, two things many restaurants struggle to get right. All boxes checked.

The food was phenomenal and the service was exceptional as always, 5/5 stars. The atmosphere is always nice, well decorated and they usually have live music (though this Sunday I went w my mom and sister they didn't). We loved everything! In my opinion, they serve a good amount per dish, medium to large portions- but not plates overflowing with food like many other Peruvian restaurants- that's what I love about here. Their ceviche is hands-down the best around the area, always fresh and tasty! I'm def coming back. FYI, parking is a bit of a hassle...
