After my wife died I discovered that I was paying monthly on one of her cards that I had not cancelled, waiting for charges to clear. I cancelled the card and went in for a last wash. They told me I was out of luck and needed to rejoin the monthly plan. I will never be back. Screw me for months and tell me they need to continue to screw me? Nah, screw this place. read more

$20!? Are you kidding me right now? $20 for a basic wash that doesn't get everything clean? $20 and you can't even get out of the drive-through. It was $13 not terribly long ago. I thought $15 was a little pricey, but $20? That is absolute highway robbery. If the wash was better or if they let you go through a second time if they miss a spot, and they usually miss more than one spot, it would be different. 'Tis Springtime again, and time to search for the perfect car wash, which of course doesn't really exist as much as it should, here in Anchorage with dust and dirt aplenty especially after another long winter. However, there have been some new car washes popping up here and there, so I've been doing the research starting with Sudzy Salmon. Cool name! It's nice! Hey, there are attendants there to take care of your payment, and (unlike Alaska Laser Wash) cash is happily accepted! What a concept! Assistance is there and present until 8 p.m. Wow! I love the fast and powerful wash, and especially the vacuum bays with free vacuums that actually work WELL! A couple of downfalls of course, as with car washes in general, including this one. The back-end of the car where the license plate is, including the trunk lid were completely missed, along with the wheels that I had to scrub later myself. Prices range in levels here, from $20 to $30...more money, more wax, and I must say that part of it was worth it. My car looked a ton better, even if I had to do the finish work myself, mainly the wheels and the back-end. Kind of a tricky location off of Tudor Road on Credit Union Drive where Sea Galley used to be. read more

I'm having a hard time finding a decent car wash in these parts. If you know of one, please call me. In the meantime, Sudzy Salmon does a pretty good job. I've only gotten the "Spring Run" Wash for $13, but it suffices. The cost is right in line with what I paid in the lower 48. I'm contemplating one of the all you can wash deals. They range from $29 to $49 and allow you to wash your ride every day. Two washes and it starts paying for itself. My problem is I'm so lazy I'm not washing the car three times a month, now. They also have a nasty long line these days, as I'm sure you can imagine. The big attraction for me is the free vacuum after my wash. It's a hundred times easier than dragging our house sweeper out to the garage. Great car wash, too bad it's run by disrespectful teenagers who will not hesitate to scream at you if you aren't careful. I have been screamed at twice by their employees, once after the gate came crashing down on my hood and she accused me of doing it on purpose to my own truck, and the second time was today when the attendant was chatting it up and not paying attention to guiding me into the track. Then when I couldn't understand her directions because we're in a literal car wash, she jumped up and down and screamed at me. I went right in and cancelled my membership, told the teenage manager how I felt, and he mocked me on the way out by asking if I wanted an air freshener for my troubles. I ran my car through and ended up with scratches on the front end that were oddly enough exactly where on of their scrubbers hit. I made a claim immediately and submitted the required photos. They came back with photos stating that they were preexisting. The photos they sent me were water streaks due to the rain we had. Took it to a few shops to see if they could buff the scratches out and their first comment was, "Did you get it washed by Sudzy Salmon?" Unfortunately, this car wash has developed a troubling reputation for questionable business practices. Multiple vehicles--including ours--have sustained visible scratches or damage after going through their wash system. In our case, the hood of our truck was noticeably scratched. We chose not to report it after reading multiple reviews from others who were met with denials and zero accountability. If you haven't had an issue yet, consider yourself lucky. I pull up in eagle river, the attendants greet me and take my card , feed it into the machine and tell me to proceed before they look into my truck bed.. . they then tell me I cant proceed because I have things in my truck bed. ( nothing overflowing the sides just a few items to normally be found in a truck bed, all within reason, none of which would create an issue) I am escorted out of the line. there was ZERO signs stating truck beds must be empty. in order to get a refund they told me I needed to create an account. I refused .. and had to go through a 20 min process for a refund. They have a horrible system set up here. do yourself a favor go elsewhere. read more

The company has no issue with taking money without giving any service, and when you ask to see the proof of the charges, they himm and hawww even though one of the people said they have a CAMERA and could look up the charge in real time, but that never happened. They drag their feet until you get tired of trying to get answers and then they celebrate because they get to pocket money for services never used. They offer NO KIND of assistance, they just put the ball in your court and wish you luck ,because they know in the end they'll get free money. I'VE NEVER HAD A COMPANY SO BLATANTLY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE! They did absolutely nothing! Been going here for a couple years and the washes have gotten progressively worse in that time. They guys and gals working seem to rush you through the line while paying little attention to dirt prone areas resulting in having to go through more than once and many times having to leave with a car still dirty. I was refused service at the Eagle River Sudzy Salmon Car Wash today. The manager Michael told me I could not get my truck washed because the professionally built 600-pound aluminum dog box bolted into the truck bed could "hurt their equipment." Then manager Michael said if they couldn't make exceptions for fifth wheelers they couldn't for me...as if those two compare. Here's the kicker. This business last year sold me an unlimited monthly carwash package and had NO problem then with the dog box! Lastly, manager Michael had no problem with the truck and topper that went before me. I usually have some grime left on my vehicle after a car wash, but the team at Sudsy pre washed and pre-scrubbed before the actual wash. I couldn't believe the shine on my tires! Also, they have a pet wash with a high power blower to get rid of the thick doggie undercoat. Def check this place out! read more

Over priced and it doesn't wash my truck very well. Wheels are always still filthy because mostly the guys with the high pressure hoses don't seem to spray the wheels just randomly spraying the body of the truck. Suppose they are just trying to wet it down. Overpriced also by a lot. Wish we still had touch less car wash, it is not as good as Salmon but it doesn't run those filthy brushes across my pain. Very efficient though and fast, but dirt all over my truck after washing so waste of my money will go to Anchorage touch less in the future. read more

I love this place. Sudzy Salmon Car Wash provides service that I have only experienced in few Eagle River businesses. I am easily able to communicate with someone when I need help. The employees are all mindful of what I need as a customer and willing to help create a positive experience. I always tip the workers pressure washing and scrubbing my car before I go through the car wash. Every experience I have had here has been a pleasant one. Even when I got a new vehicle and had to change account information. The transition was seamless and I didn't have to think about it again. Sudzy Salmon has clean microfiber rags inside for me to utilize after I receive my car wash I can wipe down my windows and mirrors. I usually wipe my dash down too, then I can drop it in the hamper and they will wash it and reuse it! They provide an experience that I am unable to recreate on my own. For someone who has lived in Eagle River for nearly 30 years, I was excited to give Sudzy Salmon a try when they first opened. I was not prepared for the customer experience that I received. I washed my car once and decided it would be a good investment to pay for the monthly plan that allows me to get my car washed once a daily. I don't wash my car every day but I do it often enough that the monthly plan feels like a smokin' deal. The employees know how to respond and are quick to respond when I have concerns. I can truly respect and appreciate that behavior and trust that management is effective confident in their workers and service. I have been meaning to write a review for a long time but today I felt like I should take the time because when I was in the queue for the wash the employees didn't send me through until they cleaned something off my rims. The vehicle in front of me was pulling out of the car wash when I started mine. It made me feel like my experience mattered. Saw this place from hotel window. Was looking for a place to get a car wash. Staff was hard working and took pride in their work. Staff was polite and helpful when needing a rehash per there posted customer satisfaction policy. Place was a bit pricey compared to the place at home but I was still very satisfied with the service. Only thing I disliked was having to pay for the self service vacuum service. Other places I've been to with similar services dont charge. Follow up Uodate: we made a stop here after traveling the muddy and dusty Dalton hwy up north. Using the clean wash guarantee they ended up washing my truck three times. This place has gone downhill! Dirty cars and dishonest. I came here in June, came out of the wash with my car still dirty, and was told that the owner had changed the type of wash--fewer things by hand and less details on the automatic part of the wash as well because "cars are cleaner in summer." They admitted it was dirty and rewashed it after some discussion. Fast forward to the end of July. I bought the silver shine which includes underbody flush and rust inhibitor (as the pic of the sign shows). After going through the car wash, the underbody was caked with mud (see pic) and dry spots. When I asked for a rewash, the attendant said that the sign was wrong and the Silver Shine no longer includes undercarriage anything. He didn't want to reward it because I hadn't bought the More expensive wash. I explained that I paid for what was on the sign and that customers have no way of knowing that the sign is wrong. He still didn't want to rewash. Finally did. Who runs a business like this?! If you change the quality of your washes, update the sign so your customers know what they're getting! read more

I have had a monthly subscription for both my wife's vehicle and my own at Pink Elephant for years now. For a total of $80 a month ( minimum because we own and Wash other vehicles that we pay for per wash ) we have always been happy with both our service and our vehicles, until now. Since "Sudzy Salmon" has taken ownership and the boss has been "helping" wash/dry it has been very rushed, sloppy and stressful to say the least. I'm pretty sure I'm done paying $80+ dollars a month for rushed, sloppy, crappy service and dirty vehicles. read more

I should've gotten the attendant's name, but he was much friendlier and more knowledgeable than I would've expected for new employees at a new business. I bought an annual pass. They are a bit pricey but Eagle River needs it especially during the winter when the roads are so dirty but you can't wash the car yourself. If you actually get the monthly one, it's not so expensive anymore. Better than keeping your car covered in dirt. I have a monthly pass I use here. I go 2-3 times per week. The car wash is great. I don't have any damage or scratches on my vehicle. Just a nice clean car I can see my reflection in. I like that you can request a dash towel to wipe down the inside dash area as you go through the car wash. How convenient! I also like the complimentary towels if you pull around near the office to get the door jambs all cleaned out. Very kind & professional. On 1 occasion I went through & was not pleased with my results. The attendant put me straight through again at no charge. My car looked great. No hassles, great service, detailed cleaning. This last week I decided to try out the detail package. What a great job! My car needed the windows cleaned, vacuum, dash area cleaned & wipe down. It looks great. Great customer service. I've been a monthly member since they opened the Eagle River location. Once you beCome a member they put a sticker on your windshield and you can get a wash once a day! The staff is always helpful, and the free vacuuming (when they offer it) is awesome!! Since I'm leaving the state, I was worried about canceling my membership and how much of a hassle it was going to be, but when I emailed, the manager quickly got back to me and refunded me the days I wouldn't be using the wash!
