Thursday morning I decided to "deep" clean my glasses with a cleanser that I use on my cell phone screen all the time and managed to scratch off a coating on the lenses. I called her in a panic without an appointment and without a recent prescription. She was able to read the prescription from my lenses and replace them in just over an hour, and she tightened them because she noticed they were loose! One of the legs of my glasses had broken off and I was getting ready to save up money for a new pair when I was referred to Sue Optical by a different optometrist who himself was unable to fix the pair. The friendly folks at Sue Optical explained that they would be able to solder the leg back on. They also pointed out that although I would be able to open and close the glasses the repaired leg would not completely regain its original flexibility which I thought was a minor issue and I appreciated the heads up. I just realized that Sue Optical uses the highest quality lens, anti-glare coatings, and scratch resistant coatings. There are different grades to all of these and I really appreciate Sue Optical using only the best at very good prices. I recently realized what a difference this made when I picked up my recent prescription glasses: I could barely see my lens with Sue Optical's anti-glare. With other brands, including warehouses, I could still see the lens in the mirror. Kudos to Sue Optical for having great name brand frames and using the highest quality products. I went here with my boyfriend to get new lenses for my sunglasses because I wanted polarized lenses thats dark. Vu did a super nice job on my lenses and I've been wearing them for over a week now and they're great! So I decided to get new glasses here as will. I got raybans and Vu finished them within 3 days. Sue is a sweetheart! My glasses were falling apart. Costco optical is closed due the Coronavirus. My regular optometrist couldn't help me. She was able to fix my glasses and she did it for free. Of course, we had no contact. I just dropped them off and picked them up once they were fixed. I am practically blind without my glasses. It would have made everything so much worse not being able to see. She fixed them very quickly. The screw came out of my eyeglass frame for my ear piece. I found Sue Optical on yelp and they didn't disappoint. They put in a new screw, straightened my frame, and made sure my glasses fit straight on my face before I left. They are also very affordable and very nice people. I am so pleased with my experience here. A few days ago my prescription rayban eyeglasses got stolen at my job, leaving me panicked and totally blind. I came in to scope out the frames and got a quote from the amazingly friendly and helpful staff. I returned the next day to place my order for a new pair and not only did I get an amazing deal (since I wasnt expecting this extra financial burden and was in desperate need asap to get them replaced) but since I cant see as well as going out of town he had them ready for me the NEXT DAY before I had to leave!!! I took my glasses there to fix the arm that had broken off (it required a small internal soldering job). I didn't think it would be able to be fixed, but thought I would give it a try. They had done a minor repair for me 10 years ago and I was happy to hear they were still there. I took them in on a Friday afternoon before having to leave town. They made a special effort to fix them in a couple of hours, so I could have them back for the weekend. Fast, friendly service - They did an excellent repair job for a fair price! I broke a leg off my titanium framed glasses and, like the other happy camper above, was referred to Sue Optical by another repair place that didn't have the equipment to solder titanium. It was quite a trip for me to get down to orange county, but I needed the glasses back together the next day before I left on vacation. Traffic was bad and I got there at 5:40. Happily, Sue Optical was open till 6:30. The opticians were very understanding but initially unable to promise a titanium solder could be done before they closed. I begged them to do what they could, and luckily they had the job complete by 6:28. The solder looks good, although you can tell it was repaired if you know exactly where to look on the side of the frame: a barely noticeable extra 1mm of solder at the joint (far better than anything I ever did in EE class). As for the joint strength, I'm not pushing any limits before I fly out tonight! They hold the ear-piece free posts to my head, so I'm happy. Contrary to the irate customer above, there were no scratches on the frame or lenses. I am very happy with the prompt, understanding service provided by this optical shop. read more

If you want to buy glasses, after you tell them you are allergic to certain metals and nose pads, be told by a so called pro these ones will be fine then you have problems and leave them for a week to be fixed and told that you need to break them in ( Wearing glasses for over 25 years so no reason to break any in) bring them in to get fixed and pads replaced, go to the doctor for blisters on the bridge of your nose, say screw it go and donate your glasses and go to the higher price store to have the right pair done where they listen to your needs then this place is for you. read more

Brought some expensive frames in for repair of one temple that had become unsoldered. They did fix the frame (not inexpensive to do this) but when my frame was returned, the non- affected was all bowed out. The man who attended to me pretended he didn't see it. I had my glasses made by Sue's rather than Costco simply because it is a small business. The arm of my new glasses kept loosening and I kept bringing them back to be tightened. The owner (Anna) said she would fix it or replace it so I wouldn't have to keep coming back. She wasn't able to fix it so she replace the glasses! Unbelievable - who does that anymore? Went to get 3 glasses done. I asked the women how much it would cost. She told me $250 a pair. I asked why its so much since I had just gotten a pair of glasses done a year ago for $170. Same exact scrip. She told me that I wasn't telling the truth and there was no way it was $170. So i asked her to look it up. She found it and sure enough it was $169.99. She said "fine, $200". I said no, $170 unless Im missing something here and our country went into a spiral of hyperinflation. I told her Im getting 3 glasses done, all I want is the same price I got the year before. We agreed on $175. I figured its fair since prices do up a bit after a year. So I left 2 glasses and told her I'd drop the 3rd pair off when I pick up the other two. When I went to pay, she told me "cash only". I said the person before me paid with American express, what are you talking about. She said, "im giving you a discount so im not gonna pay for a credit card fee". Credit card fees are 3% I told her. I'll give you the 3% in cash and pay the rest on the card. Feeling embarrassed she said, "its ok you can pay with the card".....Fast forward a week and I got to pick up the glasses and drop off the last pair. She wanted to charge me $230 for the last pair. I told her she agreed to $175. She denied it. When I showed her the paper SHE WROTE on "$175x3." She said, "i didn't write that". I said, im done here. Good luck to you and left. This place is a mess. Not to mention, her tone was terrible the entire time. My 75 year old mom was getting upset at her tone. lol Do yourself a favor. Go somewhere else. The people who used to work here were great, now, its just the owners and they are HORRIBLE. read more
