We have had Sue's several times and it's been meh every time we have went. But this time was the worst it's been. It is a very homey, welcoming, clean restaurant. The staff is decent and was kind and respectful. I'm only giving it a 3 star for these reasons other wise it would be a 1 star because the food was not very good at all. Our nachos (pictured below) were soggy and the chips that weren't soggy were stale like they had been sitting out for a while. My husband got the shrimp and brew city fries (pictured below) the shrimp are tiny but you get 21 he stated they were ok for shrimp and fries. He ordered coleslaw for his other side but never received it after being ask x2. I ordered the roast beef sand which and mashed potatoes and gravy (pictured below) now this is my order usually every home cooked place I go and I love it. My entire plate was cold. But I was the last to receive my food as our food did not come out together. Not only was it cold the roast beef was dry and just gross. I probably won't be returning to this place. And my son said the sweet tea tasted like dish water (I kinda agree)! He also got Mac n cheese and said it looked creamy but was dry and tasted like nothing but sour milk. We also got a bowl of veggie soup to try and it was sour and tasted like tomato juice and nothing else. My salad and my other sons cheese burger was about the only thing that got completely finished.

This is the only decent place in Petersburg to get a good breakfast. Our server was working alone on a very busy morning. She did well under the circumstances. My omelette was cooked a little more than I like and was lukewarm. There was a very good portion of ham and cheese. The omelette tasted delicious. The home fries were fresh cut, but a few were too thick & undercooked. I don't like "crunchy" home fries. The coffee was hot and tasted good.

Great & friendly service. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet - all homemade, very good. Will stop by again next time we are in the area.

My husband and I ate here for breakfast. I must say hands down the best breakfast we have ate at a restaurant.

We managed to get a table and the servers were quick and friendly. They let us know they were busy and gave updates on when our meals were coming. Even still, with the placed packed to the gills, it wasn't an unreasonable wait (despite the lady behind us complaining loudly, shame...). They warned us of large portions and they weren't exaggerating. I got a half size salad that would probably have been a full size at most other places. The lettuce was a spring mix, very good and fresh, with berries and grilled chicken. Yum. While we got close to cleaning our plates, it was a challenge. Prices were amazing given the portions. I would gladly stop again, and with the amount of locals in attendance, I hope they continue sending out massive plates of great food.

Our second order of loaded NACHO cheese with Steak - they ran out of nacho cheese sauce. It was 7:45pm. Guess what, NO STEAK. Realized that later. 3rd time asking where the food was I was told no nacho cheese left. I said our 80 year old members were hungry and wanted Nacho cheese. I told them to cancel the order. They said they can't cancel the order as it was being prepared. I said what we ordered was NOT what they were going to be what we ordered. VERY VERY reluctantly they refunded the order in cash. They had an outdoor area where we were. 8-12 going children were rubbing around and screaming, running THRU the round tables we pushed together. IF THIS SOUNDS GOOD TO YOU, HAVE AT IT. I'LL NEVER GO BACK. Oh yeah in our party, others orders never showed up but some did. What a joke!

Loved the service and the ambiance. Sitting outside on a lovely evening surrounded by mountains was…read morelovely. The food...well...there is always room for improvement. The menu seems to be all over the place. I wouldn't call the cuisine any particular genre since there were items that categorically fall under "Mediterranean" as well as "Asian-fusion". Two things in particular that didn't make sense to me. The tofu on the Mediterranean bowl. Tofu marinated in soy sauce is not what comes to mind when I'm thinking of any country in the Mediterranean. Also, the tasting menu has an option for an entree choice of veal shank. I was informed there would be an upcharge since it's a pricier menu item, which is totally acceptable. What I was not prepared for was a giant cut of meat (it had to have been 10oz or more) with a huge bone still attached. The portion did not fit with a tasting menu. Luckily, my husband has the appetite of a small horse so he finished it.

My favorite restaurant in West Virginia, hands down!…read more Why? 1.) Their service is outstanding 2.) The location is outstanding 3.) Their food is outstanding After years of passing by this place and literally driving up to it a couple of times and wanting to go in, I never did. I don't know why. I guess I was saving it for the special night me and my girlfriend had here. It was an epic night in all-regards. It was a fall evening and we had reservations for 6:30 pm. It was a perfect time as the sun was starting to set and the temps were just right but the pole heater made it that much better. We started off with: - Big Timber IPA (me) - Dandelion Martini (gf) - House Bread and Butter (share) - Spread Plate (share) The beer is always my go to at local restaurants because it pairs well with any food. My girlfriend's martini was super tasty and she enjoyed it a lot. FYI: I love when local restaurants support local businesses like Big Timber. Good for you! The bread was freshly baked and I believe the butter is made in house. Very good! The spread plate consisted of three pates to which all were incredible but the smoked trout was our favorite. The cucumber salad and oils and herbs were very flavorful and paired excellent with the crostini's. I could eat this every day. Highly recommended. Our entrees: - Vegetarian Delight (me) - Striped Bass (gf) The vegetarian delight is one of my favorite dishes at any restaurant. It's the perfect mix of flavors and textures in one dish. The dumplings packed a punch of flavors, the soy garlic chili Korean rice omelet was superb, the aji panco miso was flavorful, the rice and vegetable croquets tasted like a little pocket of heaven, the poblano mayo added even more flavor to each bite I took and the jicama salad was excellent. I highly recommend you get this even if you're not vegetarian, it's that good, trust me! My girlfriend's striped bass was cooked to perfection. The tamarind chili sauce it was cook in was the perfect balance with the light flaky texture of the fish. Add the lemon ginger rice to each bite of fish for an umami explosion. Then add on top of that the garlic chips takes this dish over the top to flavor heaven. She loved it and so did I as I finished the remaining portion she couldn't finish. This place has so much to offer in all-regards to the interior and exterior. It's very clean and the staff are top notch. I wish we could have booked a room upstairs the night we ate here though because that would have made our night that much better, but every room was booked. We ended up stayed at a local place right over the hill because we wanted to celebrate and didn't want to drive far. Sadly the place we stayed at was horrible but this place took away from that experience and made us have a beautiful evening regardless. We are looking forward to coming back in the next couple months for a nice fall evening dinner and exploring your menu(possibly the six course tasting menu) and eating a wide variety of your seasonal appetizers, entrees, and deserts and having drinks on the patio to take in that view or in the bar area to enjoy conversation with locals. Thank you for the wonderful evening :) 6 Stars ;)
