I was on the other side of town today and wanted to select a restaurant that I had saved in my numerous bookmarks. I chose Sue's. It's a small restaurant with five or six tables. Order at the register, and within five minutes my lunch was ready to go. I ordered #1 which included two pieces of fish, four shrimp and crinkle cut fries, which were cooked to perfection. The provide one serving of cocktail sauce. I added tarter sauce too. It was just over $16. I couldn't help but munch on my fries and shrimp while I made my way home. I enjoyed my lunch and I like supporting local restaurants. Try them out!

This place has been here for decades and changed owners several times but God bless it, the breaded fish fried to crispy perfection and crinkle cut fries have remained consistent! They taste the same as they did since my first meal from there back in the 70's when I was single digits old. It's a polarizing place. Maybe if you've grown up with it you love it, but if you haven't then it's a pass, but almost 80 years on and this place is going strong. They are doing something right. Give this divey, south tucson, iconic shop a shot! It's a good to-go menu, but at least once, eat it In the shop while it's crispy, hot and fresh.

My family and I were passing through while heading back home to Texas from San Diego and we found Sue's Fish & Chips. Literally, the BEST fish and chips spot we've had in AZ by far. Sauce had the right texture and stayed on the food as we dipped. The shrimp was so delicious and the batter wasn't thick. Customer service was great, very nice ppl working at Sue's. We highly recommend this place, you won't regret it.

Seventy two years and counting. serving fried seafood for 3/4 of a century. There has to be a reason, yes there should be, dedication to quality food and service, not. Something was wrong tonight fried mushrooms were still frozen and the cheap frozen. French fries were cold raw just undercooked they need to not be in such a rush. I suggest they try the food themselves and see how horrible the french fries really are. A place like they should be using fresh potatoes. If five guys could do it on the national level come on why can't they?

Fish Fry Friday Review - Crispy's…read more Today was Fish Fry Friday, and you know what that means... time to get in the car and hunt down some fish! This time we headed south to a little spot called Crispy's, and I'm glad we made the trip. It's only about 7 miles from the house, but that's not the point. The point is that good food is worth a little drive. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the cashier, who was super friendly. He told us if we had any questions, just ask. I laughed and told him, "I'm ordering a lot because I drove all the way from North Tucson and I want to try everything... it's not my fault, I do it for you guys!" Let's talk prices first. I'd say they're in the mid-to-upper range. For example, a 2-piece fish combo (fish, fries, and a canned drink) runs just under $15. Considering the size and quality of the fish, I think it's a fair price. Now for the feast: * 2-piece fish combo * 4-piece fish combo * 1-piece catfish * 10 jalapeño poppers * Fried pickles * Small coleslaw * Small potato salad * 3-piece chicken combo The total came to about $80, and honestly, I didn't mind because we came to sample the menu. The food was excellent. The catfish was moist with just the right amount of seasoning and a nice little kick. The cod was breaded and fried perfectly--crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The sauce selection was impressive too. We tried: * Tartar sauce * House sauce (very similar to Cane's sauce) * Blue cheese * Ranch * Cocktail sauce * Ketchup We pretty much sampled them all. My wife and Isaiah both loved the house sauce and tartar sauce. I kept going back to the cocktail sauce. The fries were made from fresh-cut potatoes, and you can definitely taste the difference. Something about fresh-cut fries just makes me feel healthier... even if they're deep-fried! The lobby was clean and surprisingly cool on a hot Arizona day. It felt like they had both A/C and a swamp cooler running because my wife actually got cold. Final Score: 1/2 (4.5/5) The food was fantastic, the service was friendly, and we'll definitely be back. The only reason I couldn't give a full five stars is because there are no public restrooms. Other than that, Crispy's is absolutely worth checking out if you're looking for some quality fish and chips in Tucson.

It is a nice setup if you are with a group and everyone wants something different. I ordered the Butcher Burger and it was really good. The burger itself was massive and cooked well. The bun was a little oversized for the burger, but honestly it did not take away from it. I only made it through about half before I was full. The fries were awesome. Crispy, well seasoned, and a perfect side to go with the burger. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the portion sizes you get. For snacks, we tried the chicken wings: half honey sauce (our favorite, crispy and delicious) and half bourbon. The bourbon wings had great flavor, though we felt they were slightly undercooked. On 18 December, my second visit here, the customer service is always excellent, food was prompt and all that you would expect in the food category was great. We had a Cod sandwich meal and one of their always excellent salads. Probably one of the best F/F restaurants to offer incredible salads! Unfortunately, there's some negatives here that must be addressed. I travel with a 100% disabled elderly father who works hard at trying to walk with a walker. By the drink/ice machine, especially on our two visits, there is always ice pooling and melting on the floor (in front of the drink dispenser) and is rarely addressed - if at all. We literally communicated to 'watch out' to other guests as a female worker passed us with a delivery of food, she clearly looked down, saw it, made no remarks to take attention to it, no communication to share it back to a counter co-worker, nothing... The Coke Zero dispenser has been leaking for months?? So you get your hands drenched trying to get a cup filled with surplus syrup. Thought this would've been a one off and fixed but it hasn't been. Lastly, the carpets. These are the absolutely dirtiest I have seen in a restaurant aside from Golden Corral's. As a small side note, haven't seen the T.V.s working either which isn't per se a big deal personally but if it's part of your decor, it should be working... Bottom line, the food is as you'd expect! The Management oversight however are simply NOT addressing the rest of the establishment and after our second visit, just isn't up to par and it truly surprises you. Hopefully these things get addressed and employees take responsibility for ice and water on the floor - of all things, for safety.
