The pedi & mani was great except for the extra something I wanted for my ring finger. The tech had no suggestions so I didn't get anything. Sue the owner is very warm and welcoming..........During my last Visit my card payment declined and sue was so sweet about it. My cellphone was dead so I needed to check my account to make to resolve the issue. Being a regular she made me feel completely comfortable with this embracing situation. I walked in without an appointment on a random Wednesday evening & saw there were 3 other people already waiting. They greeted me when I walked in but didn't ask what service I needed. So I just signed in and sat down. 10 mins after I sat down one of the women that was waiting walked out. After 10 more minutes the other 2 left as well. Over 30 mins after sitting down I was finally called up (but only because everyone else left). I just wanted an eyebrow wax and a French pedicure. The nail tech did both for me and was very sweet and did a nice job. No small talk, no conversation, she just did her work while I browsed my phone. The total for everything came out to $31 which was a very good price but I recommend making an appointment unless you don't mind waiting for half an hour. I started coming here after a friend told me about them. I have had service rendeded to me from just about EVERY lady in there, and they are ALL AMAZING! I prefer going directly to Sue or Anna(maybe Anne?) but i feel totally comfortable with them all. Any other nail salon I used to go to, I would wait HOURS just to get in with ONE specific technician because I didn't trust the others to do a good job ( which they never did) So to find Sue Nails was a definte + (plus) in my book. I went here twice so far after reading these yelp reviews. I get the gel manicure and regular pedicure. The second time I had Ken (just got the gel manicure that time). I was in and out within 30 minutes. Very fast. The only thing I dont like is their buffers they use on everyone. It's not a fresh one per person. Also I feel like they rush, they don't treat you like you should relax and pamper yourself. Like the hand massage was super fast I couldn't even relax and enjoy it (both times). This place is HORRIBLE. I tried it for the first time and needless to say I will NEVER go back. I got a full set of acrylic nails, and THREE nails fell off four days later. I have tried three different times in the last three days to get them fixed, since I got them done less than a week ago and tipped very well as always, and they STILL haven't fixed them!!! They're extremely rude and after just waiting 45 minutes (although I made an appointment) I just told them they lost my business and will never come back. What a waste of money. I've been coming here for the past 3 years but yesterday was my last day. Faithfully I was with a technician named Kristy then she left for maternity leave and I switched to Lynn. Then one day I called to make an appointment with Lynn and Sue told me she was out 'sick'. So I figured I'd go with Ken until Lynn returned but she never did (I think she left the salon). Then they hired a new tech named Pheobe and she is EXCELLENT! I started going to her for a month and then I called this week for an appointment with her and was told that she was out 'injured' and they weren't sure when she's be back. So I booked with my backup, Ken. Now I noticed that Ken got a bit frustrated with me the last time I was with him because I am picky about my nails and there is somewhat of a language barrier but I gave him another try. I asked him to push back & cut more of my cuticle and he got frustrated with me. Then he got really rough with my cuticles and caused me to bleed! Now if I'm paying my money, try to accommodate me. I don't think that's an abnormal request. So he ignored me and called Sue over. I explained the issue, showed her the bleeding and asked if I could be switched to a different tech since he was frustrated and she told me that I was being prejudice against him. I was so shocked! I have nothing against Ken or any of the other workers there BUT if I'm paying for a gel manicure & pedicure, I expect to leave with my cuticles pushed back & trimmed and not bleeding. I couldn't believe it! I didn't understand why she accused me of not liking him when I've booked appointments with him several times before AND I've been a faithful customer for the past 3 years booking appointments twice a month. I live in Miami, however I am temporarily staying with my mom near the location of this nail salon. I needed a mani/pedi and was extremely hesitant to come here. I am very picky with my nails and wasn't sure what to expect for $28. Well, I can tell you that the place was clean, my nail tech was extremely thorough with my cuticles, and they even had sterilizers in the back! Now there wasn't a whole bunch of polite chit chat, but who cares if they do a good job? People, I can tell you in Miami for the same price, you will leave with a crappy nail job and probably some sort of bacterial infection! This place does a good job, is clean, and inexpensive. Omg... If I could give less than one star I would!!! I just left sues nails.. I have been here three times and this is the second time that I have gone in and received horrible customer service. Sue the owner, like some have said in their reviews, is VERY rude! She has the most horrible attitude towards people who come in to spend their money for services. Additionally, I noticed that there is a difference between how she treats her black customers vs her white customers. She is much nicer and more pleasant and approachable when she addresses her white customers. When she addresses her black customers she is very blunt and dry. She charges what she wants for certain things and not the advertised price. I have been to the salon three times and received three different prices for the same service.... A gel fill in!!! I tried this shop because I don't live very far from the area so the location was convenient; however, I would rather drive to another location with better service then to deal with Sue and her antics. This nail salon that I have been a loyal client to for approximately 4 years has recently become a horrible experience for me unfortunately. After Christmas Day my sister and I went over to Sue Nails for a relaxing much needed pedicure and immediately after this pedicure we decided to continue with a full set by Sue. She has not always been best when it comes to scheduling her clients but this time it was very obvious that she was being very unfair, prejudice, and unprofessional. She insisted that we wait after she finished with new incoming clients of different race after we had already finished our pedicure and confirmed that we both were getting full sets done. She then insisted that my sister reschedule an appointment for the following day so that Sue can take new incoming clients after we had already waited and confirmed the full set service. I was very disappointed and felt as though we were not getting the same treatment as others and I have seen this type of treatment happen often at Sue Nails but this is by far the most blatant disrespect I've ever received at any nail salon. I WOULD NOT advise anyone to go here because it's not guaranteed that you will get the service that you need done even after a confirmation. The absolute worst customer service ever. When I made an appointment with the owner and couldn't wait much longer she brushed me off and said I could leave. I couldn't believe after the amount of time I had been going she would would just tell me to leave I mean I drove all the way for north Miami and made an appointment a week in advance. I visited Sues yesterday before work and let me say, worst experience of my life! For starters, the nail tech that was doing my nails was arguing with another nail tech ! They started yelling at each other and the woman came up to my nail tech like to attach him! She picked up the bowl where my nails were soaking in and flung it at his head, wetting him and me. He continued to do my nails extremely upset and treated me very hard. The only reason I stayed was because the man doing my nails kept saying he was sorry. Two weeks ago It was suggested to me to go to Sue Nails because I work near that nail salon. Little did I know this first time visit was a night mare! Upon arrival I sat and waited approximately 35-40 minutes before a tech could provide services. I was considerate because I was a walk in customer. Then my nail tech appeared inexperienced as she could not perform the task that I was requesting. It was really simple but with her lack of knowledge and experience, it seemed complicated. The nail tech next to her tried to assist but she couldn't. Then the male walked over to try and help and he was telling my nail tech what I wanted. By the way it was just multi-color nails. The the nail tech to the right of us started speaking in her primary language which I assume was about me because both ladies spoke English so there was no need to speak in another language. Then the same nail tech to the right who I found out later on was the owner, said we can only give you a pedicure but we cannot give you a manicure. I looked at her and said, "I'm going to get what I came for. She then told me, "you need to get out you piece of (SHIT) " How unprofessional is that! I ignored her and then the guy which I also later found out was her husband approached me and lifted up my arm rest and grabbed my arm. I snatched my arm away from him and I proceeded to call 911. The police walked into the salon and I shared with him what happened. He then proceeded to the guy and I was at an angle where I could see them talking. I saw the male nail tech tell the cop that he grabbed my are. Now a second cop arrived and proceeded to get a witness statement of a Caucasian female who presented unfriendly to someone of my culture. She gave a statement in the defense of the salon stating that she saw the male tech lift my arm rest up but did not see him grab me. Although this guy verbally stated he touched me nothing was done. I was the only African American in the salon. The cops,the witness, and the owners of the nail salon were of another race. I was assaulted, threatened, and disrespected on all levels and this incident ended with me getting a no-trespassing from the salon owners in the presents of the cops. It saddens me to learn that racism still exists and African Americans are verbally and physically abused and other cultures feel we should just except it! It's not fair and it's ethically wrong! I ask that you all not go to this nail salon. They are understaffed, unprofessional, inconsiderate, and racist toward individuals that are not from their country. I have visited this nail salon for over one year. They are serious about cleanliness. It is important because it is easy to pass germs or diseases from dirty utensils. I think it is kind of rude for them to converse to one another in their native language...Half the time I am sure they are talking about someone who is sitting right in front of them. Nevertheless, they get the job done and for a reasonable price. I find when you tip them well...they give you preferential treatment when you return. STAY AWAY! I would give this place negative stars if I could. Horrible experience. I had made an appointment for my 12 year old sister and myself. First off, they ran 30 minutes behind schedule. Second, they told us that the people we had booked our appointments with, were unavailable. A little late to tell us that now that we were already there. One of the men (Ken, I believe), took my sister first for a gel manicure. Mia, then took me for a regular mani/pedi. While I was in the middle of getting my pedicure, my little sister looked over at me with tears in her eyes. He had cut her multiple times and was being so ruff on her little hands. Before he started to polish her tails, she came over to me to tell me that he had hurt her and to show me how horribly her nails had been shaped, cuticles were cut, etc. Me, being optimistic, told her that the worst (why should I have to pay for horrible service) was over and to let him finish. As he painted her nails, she kept looking over at me with a disappointed face. Although she is only 12, she knows what a good manicure should look and feel like. At the end of the manicure, she came over to me to show me the her awfully painted nails. Gel, is supposed to be shiny and dry right away. Her nails were damp, dull, damaged, and disgusting. There were hairs under the polish, bumps within in, and she was cut up. She had asked him to fix it repeatedly but apparently he didn't speak English. At the end of my services, I went to the owner, Sue, directly. Politely, I asked if I could have a moment of her time to simply ask her a question. In a quick and rude tone she asked me what I wanted. She didn't even look at me. RUDE. I had explained the situation to her and she told me that I was taking up too much of her time and that if she didn't like the service, that it was too bad for her. Sue told us to pay and leave. I explained to her that I would not pay for a service that my sister was happy with until someone else had fixed her nails or until Sue fixed them herself. She picked up the phone and CALLED THE COPS ON A 12 YEAR OLD. She described my sisters outfit to the cops and told us that they were on their way to get us. Okay lady. You're insane. We hadn't done anything wrong, so the cops being called didn't phase us. We sat their patiently for the cops to arrive. They could have been saving someone or arresting a criminal. But no. My sister and I sat on the bench out front waiting for them to arrive. Two jacked cops arrived and all they could do was laugh at the situation. We explained our side of the story. The cops went inside and asked Sue to come outside with them. All she did was make a scene and herself look stupid. She kept talking over them and they eventually told her to shut up. Because not paying would be a form of "stealing", they told her that she needed to personally fix my sisters nails and to charge us only a quarter of the original price. All of this wasted time, horrible service, and attitude were not even worth a single cent. NEVER GOING BACK! read more
