four chocolates in a tin
Deedrah B.

My favorite chocolates, ever! I used to get their truffles every weekend at the farmer's market. They are the friendliest vendors, always offering samples and great about bundling discounts (ie two four packs of different flavors, but they would only charge the price of a single 8 ct, so it was really fun and easy to be able to try a bunch of flavors over time). Heads up if you are local, I would order online in advance because they frequently sell out. I will always make an effort to pick some of these up whenever I am back in town!

Wow! I've eaten a lot of Chocolate in my life but never anything like Stone Grindz. I read about Stone Grindz winning a international award and wanted to try their chocolate. They don't have a store front, so I thought it would be a challenge, but through their website, I discovered the Whole Foods near my house carries their chocolate. Sure enough, I found Stone Grindz on the shelf and bought two bars for my husband and my Christmas stockings--the Ucayali River, Peru and a Cappuccino. It seemed a bit pricey-around $8 for 2 oz of Chocolate. But then I tried the Ucayali River bar. It's described as "Our most popular single-origin chocolate bar. Winner of the coveted gold medal at the International Chocolate Awards blind tasting in Florence, Italy." They say it has "notes of mocha, cedar, dark cherry, anise." To say I didn't know chocolate could taste like this is an understatement. It's like a glass of really good wine that takes you on a journey from start to finish. The flavor of this chocolate is rich and complex with red berries on the finish. Worth every penny and absolutely going on my best of Arizona list:)

They taste as good as they look!

Tried to go there and it was in a gated community?

They don't have a brick and mortar retail space. Catch them at farmers markets or order online for local delivery.

WOW! I drove from Los Angeles to try these chocolates and…read moreit was 100% worth it. These chocolates are perfect, not too sweet, melt in my mouth, beautiful presentation and reasonably priced. These chocolates are very high quality and I now have a reason to come back to Scottsdale. The mug is so nice, very high quality. I bought 2 boxes and loved every piece. They are better than most chocolates I buy in Beverly Hills. I'm so happy Zak makes such high quality chocolates. This was the highlight of my trip.

I appreciated the prompt communication from the business when I requested pickup a bit early. I wasn't able to make it during their business hours, but let them know a courier would arrive to do so on my behalf. They immediately let me know when the order was picked up, and even sent a nice thank you. The chocolates themselves were beautiful. We purchased a larger assortment, and I loved the creative flavor options and wide variety of flavors to fit every palate. Our gift recipients gave them rave reviews. Supporting a local artisanal maker is worth the additional cost to me, and knowing the assortment was something that couldn't be found in a Godiva box made it all the more special & unique. We will absolutely be back as these chocolates make unique and delicious gifts.

The two shops are joint and definitely scream luxe in every way. A super modern and beautiful space with all the designer puns and cute offerings from trinkets, to clothes, house goods and of course ice cream bars. They offer chocolate ice cream, vanilla ice cream, cheesecake or a banana for dipping. You can build your own or select one of their speciality bars - both coming in around $9. I opted for the Neverfull of nuts. A vanilla ice cream base, dipped in chocolate, rolled with peanuts, a Reese's and Nutella drizzle. It was very good and definitely enjoyed during the beautiful sunny day in Old Town. The service was great, friendly, quick and helpful with suggestions. My grandparents who were visiting from out of town, loved it. Overall, it was a delicious treat, beautiful store and hit the spot. I do feel the price point is a tad steep and they didn't have any children of small offerings, but I suppose that goes hand in hand with the luxe vibe. I would definitely return, but also a few other local spots that equally hit the mark.

They really did nice renovations! You can either build your own bar or get one of their recommended combos. My husband and I each got our own. We definitely could've shared, but we wanted to try different things! I did a custom bar with chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake, and peanut butter drizzle. You can get two toppings and a drizzle, but I'm glad I just got the chocolate cake. It was AMAZING. I loved everything about it. My husband got the March Madness feature, which was a combo of Oreos and Andes mints with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. You can choose chocolate or vanilla ice cream - he chose chocolate. It was exactly what he wanted. The staff were so friendly and patient with everyone in front of us who took awhile to decide. The shop is pristinely clean as well! The bars are a little pricey, but the quality is there and fairly justifies the hefty price tag.

There are tables inside the restaurant and outside of the restaurant. While it was hot outside (in the 90s) the shade and wind made it extremely comfortable to sit outside. The bakery itself was extremely cute and new bakery items were consistently being brought out and restocked. I came with my (extremely picky) mom and she really enjoyed Paris Rendez-Vous. We both got the Ham and Cheese Croissant to stay, it had bechemal sauce inside of the sandwhich adding a nice creaminess. The to stay dish does cost a few dollars more than the to go dish. This is because you are served and also it comes with a light salad with Italian dressing. The salad was a nice addition to the sandwhich, it added the perfect amount of freshness. My mom got an apricot cheese danish to go, and she wishes she would have grabbed 3 more, she is insistent that they are the best vanishes that she has ever had in Arizona...so I would recommend checking that out. Overall it was a nice and quiet brunch spot, that I would definitely classify as a hidden gem in Scottsdale. I recommend checking it out.
