We normally come here because my kids request it. It's pricey, but it's fun. The candy is good. I love the truffles. I had to take away one star this time. I have a nonverbal, autistic child with an IQ of 30. He inadvertently took one piece of candy by a bin and ate it. The manager was very condescending and mean saying some hurtful things to me. I just feel his reaction could have been more understanding since it was an innocent mistake by my son. Otherwise they were refilling bins steadily, and the candy we selected was all good. read more

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS OVERPRICED AND UNSANITARY TOURIST TRAP!!! I wish there was an option for ZERO STARS, because this place was deserving of it. I went to sugar kingdom in hopes of finding some cool candies to share with my family. Boy was I out of luck. I walked in and saw OPEN jars of candy EVERYWHERE! To make matters worse, I went to get some jelly beans. Over half of the spouts of jelly beans had been there so long that nothing would come out of them due to the jelly beans all being stuck together. After finally banging on the jelly Bean spouts enough to get some, I headed to check out with a small bag of rock candy and a can of jelly beans that was barely over half full. The cashier rang my two items up and told me the price. I didn't fully understand him because of his accent so I handed him a $20 bill (assuming that it would be plenty to cover it). He looked up at me and repeated the price more clearly. $36.20! That's how much I was expected to pay? For that??? I told the cashier that I wasn't paying $30 for jelly beans and bought the rock candy by itself (which was still way too much). read more

Who do you think is the target audience for this store? Kids. There are tons of choices for candy and kids items, which is great. What isn't great is that the music playing over the speaker was uncensored. While shopping I noticed the song said "shit" and I thought it was weird but was willing to let it slide. Then the next song came on and used F**k and the N-Word repeatedly in the chorus. Needless to say I asked if they could put on some more kid friendly music and the employee told me you can pay to change the music? (Like a jukebox maybe?) and I insisted she change it. If you don't care about getting ripped off then this is the place for you. The prices are about 400% more than you would pay in a regular store. Also they don't take off for the weights of the bags. Not that it's a lot of money, but they're supposed to and it's very petty for them to do that. Also don't bother asking if they have anything in stock nobody there speaks very good English and will just tell you no even though you'll probably find it if you walk around for an hour. The prices for the custom-made chocolates behind the counter seemed okay until you find out that the price is not per pound but per individual piece of chocolate. The signs for the candy are tricky. It states fill your bag for $3.49 per and then hidden at the waaaaaay bottom where they put items in from of is for 1/4 pound. BUYERS BEWARE! This is an adorable place to take the kids. But DO NOT fill or even half fill your bags. Truth is it is $13.96 a pound. Other items were adorable but candy not so much. O stars. This looks like a fun place for kids and tired mommies, as there is a huge sign on the building that says "coffee." While my children were enamored by the sights and smells, I looked around for the coffee counter to no avail. When I inquired, I was told they didn't have any. This place is a kids paradise but I gave it three stars because during the COVID-19 epidemic, it appears that they are taking absolutely zero precautions for themselves and their customers. The employee serving unwrapped chocolate-dipped food from behind the counter had no face mask on (nor did any other employee that I saw in the store). There's also no signage to customers requesting that they maintain the 6 foot social distancing suggestion. You have to touch the front door handle to get in. The bulk candy bins remain out with communal tongs for everyone to share. It's like taking a step back in time with regards to awareness and concern over Covid. This is not a way to keep tourists coming back. Typically I would've brought my kids back here two or three times during the week but we will not be going back because of safety concerns. I will choose to spend my dollars at locations that are socially responsible. read more

All the candy is off-brand junk cleverly arranged in giant circular bins in a huge area in which you will lose your children as they load up on 7.99 for a QUARTER POUND. Not a scale in sight for pre-weighing. A full wall of jelly beans lines the back, disappointingly not juicy Jelly Belly but waxy crap. Also, they pipe in a fake sugar smell, and about a quarter of the store is cheap stuffed animals. Just don't go here. The building is massive but the candy selection is limited. You have about 10 rings of candy, some missing scoops or tongs so people/kids might be using their hands. All 10 rings where gummy candy of some sort. This place literally just has a ton of gummy candy. There is some fudge, some cookies in two display cases. If you're looking for chocolate of any kind it's not there. The sour gummy bears are not sour. The sour gummy worms are sour but they're not made there. Genuinely this is the worst candy place I have ever been to. Sweet employees, but terrible candy. My boyfriend and myself picked out a few of several different selections, and they were ALL terrible. Worst candy store i have ever been in. Everything is insanely overpriced, and it is by the pound so you can't tell how much you are spending until it is weighed. After it is weighed, they do not allow you to put anything back, and you are stuck paying, in my case, 30 dollars for a small amount of candy. I was so disgusted by the price that i can't even eat it and will have to find some little kid to give it away to.
