Was excited to eat the Red Velvet cake which I purchased a few hours prior. THANKFULLY I scanned it and noticed MOLD on the cake and a bad smell was mixed in with the cake smell. I have been to this location at least 10 times considering how tasty their desserts are. However, the owner has been snarky on multiple occasions. I didn't know what a particular cupcake was, so I proceeded to tell her the location of the cupcake. She then stated that I would have to do better than that. So I pointed to the direction of the cupcake. I assume that wasn't good enough for her so she decided to take it a notch further and stated, "let's act like you've been to school...I'm sure your parents taught you better than that." Quaint and elegantly decorated yet full of glam. The customer service is the epitome of southern hospitality. This was my first time here and I had no idea what to get so I ordered a Lemon Blonde Cupcake. It was huge! The cake itself was so incredibly moist and the frosting was delightful. The center had a lemon filling that was a pleasant surprise! I'd certainly recommend eating it with a fork. I made the mistake of thinking I could quickly grab it to enjoy during my pedicure next door and it was messy but I enjoyed every minute lol. I'll definitely be returning. We were greeted by the guy behind the counter, but that was pretty much the most interaction initiated by him for the rest of our visit. Ordered my Birthday cake 4 weeks in advance and 4 weeks later when i go to pick up the cake at the time of accordance they didn't have my cake ready I was told to come back an hour later so I gave them the benefit of the doubt of being busy but after that hour my cake was not what I ordered. They fixed it with a free cake, but it wasn't his favorite flavor.) Michael greeted me and took a second to get to know why I came in. He was sweet (see what I did, there?) and engaging. Horrible customer service!!!!! I will NEVER Give this establishment my business again!!!! I gave them two different pictures of cakes that I would like to have for both of my sons birthday. I called on Wednesday to place the order for Saturday evening. I was never told that they could not do two cakes in the time frame remaining. Both cakes, in My opinion, we're very simple. There were discrepancies with both cakes upon pickup. I asked to have $30 off on each cake. I was first told that they could only take $20 total off. I felt it was a slap in the face. Ultimately, we agreed on $20 off each cake. The owner made it a point to address me and argue with me about the cakes, stating that I placed the order at the last minute. I informed him that if they knew the time would not allow them to professionally design the cake, then I should have been informed at that moment. He was very rude and persistent with arguing with me.....very unprofessional!!! Instead, he should have acknowledged their faults or just not address me at all! He made a comment to my husband that "We're in the business to make money, not give money back!" Well, we work hard for our money, and we want to get what we pay for! I usually go to Smallcakes which is my all time favorite but today my daughter wanted to try Sugar Rush and boy were we ever so glad! I ordered a vanilla, satin berry and German chocolate. The vanilla and satin berry were absolutely delicious! The German chocolate was good too but just a tad bit dry. The price is actually worth it because of the size and density. FIRST of all the crust, let's bow our heads and give thanks for the crust, it was so buttery and flaky, just down right amazing. I needed a baby shower cake. A cute one. So I made a decision to try this place. The customer service was outstanding! I went in on Friday evening to order the perfect cake. The place was quite busy, which really encouraged my decision to give it a try. There were several times that Mr. Michael had to stop our business to help out because they were so busy. Upon ordering the cake, I wanted pale pink fondant with a quilt pattern, gold beads in the quilt, a gold bow on the side, and a big gold "S" as a topper. 9 inch yellow (or white) cake, buttercream icing. I had no problem with the $86 price tag. The cake was delicious...really, really good!! The detail on the cake was not what I imagined (or paid for). I was told it was so much because of the edible gold details. After picking up the cake, I went straight to Hobby Lobby to locate some desirable gold accents. For $17, I added a gold ribbon to the bottom, gold heart sprinkles AND turned a gold "8" into an "S". Thanks Sugar Rush. Your flavor & customer service was outstanding, the details...not so much.
