Love the Sugar Suite! Fun times.

This place is real chill, and there is always something funny happening. The bartenders know how to make drinks, and they have incredible hearing (sometimes I can't even hear myself when I'm ordering drinks) they have live djs on Fridays and Saturdays. The drinks are very reasonably priced and they don't skimp on the alcohol like many bars. They have parking in the front and in the back which is where the smoking section is. Bathrooms are clean, there's a little dance floor for the people who are in the mood to dance. I came here first in 2008 and gave been coming here every since. Plus there's a McDonald's open 24 hours if you want late night munchies at 2 am. And also they have security as well. Real cool pace, check it out! read more

I give 2 stars only because I USUALLY have a great time there. Not tonight (Wednesday Karaoke night) and not because of the karaoke. I waited longer than the average time for a cigarette on a busy night at a bar for the bartender to come back in. I ordered a simple Kettle One and soda with muddled limes, she was baffled and completely misunderstood me (thought I wanted it with a bottle of wine), no biggie it was loud in there. I paid with a $10. I then ordered a second, and paid with a $20. She gave me$3 back. I called her attention to it and she said I gave her a ten. I said, "No I paid the first one with a ten, I gave you a twenty for the second one." She told me she'd look into it. She didn't. I brought it up again and she still insisted I gave her a ten. I asked her if she was serious and she was. It has been a long day and this really upset me, so I left without finishing my now $13 drink I was so pissed off! I kinda suspect she was a little inebriated herself. I hope she enjoys the $10 tip for barely doing her job. read more

OVERCHARGING! I was overcharged more than double what the price of my drink was... I went there to celebrate my friends birthday, wasn't able to stay very long so I just ordered 1 beer and closed out my tab, the next day I check my online bank statement they had charged me nearly x3 the price of that beer. (I understand the bartender might have wanted more than a 20% tip, but not ok to overcharge a customer)... No need to steal from your customers! Please Make sure to check your bank accounts after you visit and be careful if you're having an open tab. Love it here. Small setting, friendly bartenders, great drinks and good music! A great place to stop by after work and hang with friends or go to on a weekend! The only thing I wish they would consider is getting TITOS VODKA AND A RICE BEER LIKE SAPPORO, KIREN OR ASAHI. Those are great choices for those of us with gluten intolerance. read more

I've come to this bar a few times both with a group of friends or co workers and also just with one friend to have a beer or two. Either way I have always enjoyed myself. The drinks aren't over priced, and they ALWAYS have good music. They also have a few screens to watch the games. The only thing taking away from me giving 5 stars is the one bathroom stall for the ladies, waiting for the restroom sucks after you've had a few drinks! read more

It's a dive bar but everyone was cool and friendly, and they played good 80s and dance music.

Nice dive bar with a good mix of demographics. It used to have karaoke on Wednesday and Thursday, but now they stopped that and switched to a live DJ since about March of 2016. Seems a little odd because there's pretty much no space for dancing unless you want to be in the middle of someone's dart game. They have a nice firepit to sit around for ambiance, but it's actually quite warm so don't wear a sweater. read more

It was a dark and stormy night. My jeans were tight and my mullet was looking fantastic. My girlfriend and I wandered into the sugar suite looking to sink some drinks. It was a mellow vibe. Mostly a 20 to 30 something crowd. Rock music on the jukebox. The only thing missing was my girlfriends old denim white snake jacket! Good place to drink and chill out. You can sit at the bar or one of the booths. We ordered a long island and a rum and coke. Both drinks were decent and reasonably priced. The female bartender was totally cool and served us right away. If your a valley dude and looking to get your drink on check out this little watering hole. read more

So, this place used to be my SPOT on Saturday nights. But now, with no Butter and no karaoke, I'm just not that into it. Sure, I'll go down and have a drink or two, but I'm not going to be closing down the bar til last call anymore. Went here last night. The crowd was a little shady for my taste, although I was in a bar in Granada Hills at midnight on a Sunday, so I'm not sure what I expected to find. I like most dive bars, but there was something about this place that just rubbed me the wrong way. read more

Walked over to this spot after bad experience at Jug Jug (avoid at all costs) Sugar Suite is a nice dive bar with great atmosphere. The place was pretty chill, mostly locals on Wed nite. Location has lots of character, a good place to meet new people, hear some life stories, and enjoy good drinks. I overheard a patron refer to Justine, the bartender, as an expert mixologist. This proved to be very accurate. Get to know her well and she'll take good care of you. She's a brassy, classy kind of lady and she definitely knows what she's doing!!! read more

Had a good IPA while I was there. It was pretty crowded for a small place. Not a lot of seats were available, which left a lot of people to stand in the walkway. However, there wasn't a lot of standing space either. I spent more time outside the bar than I did in it. The DJ was station right over the dart board so playing would have been difficult. It took us a while to flag the bartender down to pay for our drinks (by drinks I meant one round of beer). The music was super loud, felt more like a club than a bar. Would I come back? I live within walking distance from this unassuming spot, slightly hidden in a shopping center and never once thought to walk in due to the outward appearance. Boy was I wrong. Never judge a book by its cover! Reluctantly walking in I was greeted with a smile and served promptly. The interior is red and the vibe cozy. The drinks are amaze balls and the crowd was so diverse at around 8:30-9 pm on a Friday night. Some old, some young. But everyone seemed to know each other. Within minutes I was quickly introduced to my fellow bar patrons I was runbing elbows with sitting at the bar by the woman behind the bar. (Sorry I forgot your name) by the time I realized how late it had gotten, the older crowd had vanished and it turned into a full on night club type atmosphere with a DJ serving up some delectable tunes! I have been coming to the bar for a few months. The bartenders are amazing and very attentive. The drinks are made to perfection. The crowd is a good mix with the occasional "wasted" patron. My only issue with this place is the creepy security guard that is sometimes at the front door. I come here to have a cocktail and socialize with my friends. We don't appreciate him butting into our conversation with random chit chat. It is rude and very annoying. I like coming to this bar I just think I will be coming the days when the creepy security guard isn't working. read more

I started going to the Suite when my really hip parents threw a birthday party for my sisters 21st birthday (over a year ago) there and now I practically have a bar stool with my name on it. The bartenders are awesome and really make an effort to remember your name and your drink order. You can throw a birthday party there and bring in outside food, it's never an issue. I met some of my best friends there and the man i'm going to marry (yes, we are an actual item, i'm not a stalker...anymore). Yes it's a locals bar, but they will welcome you with open arms! There's always something fun going on too: Dart League Wednesday, Pub Quiz (King Trivia) Thursdays, DJ on Fridays, Karaoke on Saturdays, and seasonal Football package available Sun/Mon. Daytime bartenders are just as awesome as the nighttime ones :). read more

went here one morning after work...cant believe theres a bar thats open at 6am! score! i dont think im an alcoholic, but working nights makes it hard to find a place to drink at after a hard nights work. the lady behind the bar was awesome! even though we were pretty much the only people there at 0630 in the morning, she kept the drinks coming! i even made her get a new bottle of grey goose from the back because i finished the bottle behind the bar! :) but she was more than happy to keep her stock full so i can quench my thirst! i will definitely go there again so i can get a proper feel of the place. read more

I've been going to the Sugar Suite for about a year on and off. Dabora the bartender on Saturday nights is usually very busy but sometimes she just will let you stand there for a long time before she takes your drink order. Just recently on a Saturday night I went with my entire family to have a celebration and I went up to the bar to order drinks and Dabora basically looked at me several times didn't acknowledge me and went and took someone elses order before me. He came up after I had been standing there for 10 minutes. it just continued to get worse that night, she basically did the same thing to other member's of my family and we sat there waiting to get our tabs paid for over 20 minutes. I finally get my tab and it's 20.00 and I decided not to tip her. A dark hair and bearded guy gave me my slip and I drew a big fat ZERO with a line through it for the tip line. Imagine my chagrin when I checked my bank statement and saw that someone had added 4 dollars to the total. I called my bank reported this they credited me and I called Sugar Suite and spoke with a manager there named Justine who actually did some research and she admitted that someone did do that and she will not tolerate such behavior. She is a very nice woman and she did not drop the ball. She will be taking care of the culprit. I have to say, I'm extremely disappointed in Dabora and her co worker and I'm disgusted with whomever decided to tip themselves. They are lucky I don't report them to the police. I won't go back to that place ever again. read more
