I have to start off by saying I never leave reviews but I felt the need to leave a review for this establishment because these reviews over the last week made this place look like a circus! I am a regular at the safari room, I come to watch the dodger games every week with the other regulars and have even become friends with the staff. They're all good people. So I felt the need to step in and clear the air for the disgruntled people leaving these reviews about the bar tender. I was there the night these people said they got refused service and yes they sure did get refused but let it be known it was a refusal of service due to them being obnoxiously drunk, causing a scene. Heidi did her job and refused service to rude drunk entitled people believing their party could continue because they come here often. These people were so drunk and obnoxious that a table with a little kid who was no more than 9/10 years old began crying out of fear. So please leave the establishment and bar tender alone. If you want to be drunk and beligerante, do it elsewhere. This is a respectable place and all she did was her job. Just like any human her "attitude" was because she was over their drunk rude nonsense. Good riddance! read more

This restaurant is just ok. More of a bar with a restaurant. They didn't have fresh mint for a mojito. Beers on tap wasn't available. The salad was just chopped lettuce swimming in dressing. Scallops were baked not seared (although not over cooked). Steak was not seasoned well. Mashed potatoes were good and steamed vegetables were ok. Our waitress was good but I don't think we would return. read more

I have to give 5 stars because this place is a gem. There is a reason why it has been there for over 50 years. We go all the time. Do yourself a favor and order the lobster. They cook it perfectly. Been patronizing the Safari Room for many years. Even though their menu has great variety, I must admit The food is mediocre at best. But the Happy Hour is one of the best in town. They have great drink and food specials, so even though the food is just ok, it's hard to knock it when you get large portions for just around $10. I think I come here more for the atmosphere than the food. It's a fun place to sit at the bar and enjoy delicious cocktails at reasonable prices. We absolutely love going to Safari Room, especially to catch a Dodgers game! Haidee and Vera always make us feel so welcome from the moment we walk in. Since the Safari Room is close to where I live I thought to give it a try for dinner. Their menu is extensive and diverse American fare. Steak, fish, chicken, sandwiches, salads, appetizers , etc. and a good selection of bottled and draft beers. The bar and lounge were active with good TV sports viewing. CHECK MY PHOTOS. I really liked the ambiance. Available seating. I ordered a tuna melt with slaw, a Stella Artois, chocolate mousse and coffee. I was pleased with the food. The service was so-so. The waitress was not very attentive once the food was delivered and she did not appear that she enjoyed her work. The Safari Room is not inexpensive. Unapologetically this is my type of place. I get it, this isn't the best of the best when it comes to top notch quality or crazy unique items. What you can expect is the chillest setting with high value dishes and friendly service. Oh, and stiff drinks. For under $23, their special includes top sirloin, shrimp (scampi or fried), choice of potato or rice, assorted veggies, and salad or soup of the day. Where else can you find that nowadays?! I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out as requested. Shrimp and potato were done well and I left feeling fully satisfied. Especially with our friendly server who was always attentive. Went for Valentines day which is a big holiday. I don't know why all the food needed seasoning. Me and my husband put salt and pepper on all our food. He's usually not a salt person, but I think the cooks didn't season and were too busy. Steaks, potato, veggies, shrimp... salad was fine with dressing. read more

We went here recently for dinner and a small gathering. The seating and atmosphere is very themed and motif. The food was very bland and ok. I been here multiple times and the previous times I've gotten it's been good but has slowly declined the more times we went. The service is always the best part of the restaurant. The waiters and bartenders are always welcoming and friendly. This place is always good to go for a dodger game or sports game. First time going here and will good back. The food was very delicious. I got a New York steak & shrimp scampi. The steak and shrimp was cooked perfectly and very delicious. The vegetables could use more seasoning but the sauce they gave me with my meal and the gravy on the mashed potatoes made up for it with great flavor. My husband got the prime rib and loved it. The meals also came with a salad or soup. Extremely reasonable priced and full of tvs to watch dodger games. The safari themed decorations were also a very fun touch. The menu was a bit hard to read so you really just need to ask your server. read more

I have been going to the safari room for the last 35 years. I have always had a pleasant experience with the staff starting from the bartenders to the waitress. The food was good. I wish they would change up the menu. They have a lot of fried foods. I'm looking for some healthier dishes. Recently within the last 15 months I have noticed the bartending service is below average. It takes 15 to 20 minutes to be served. This comes to one bartender by the name of Heidi. She takes care of all her friends near the entrance.and leaves most of back side of the restaurant waiting for drinks. She also walks by us not asking what we want to drink or eat. I find this very offensive and rude. Paying customers should not have to experience an unpleasant experience and rude attitude from Heidi. I have talked to several of my friends and they prefer not to come in when Heidi is serving. This hurts your business and as far as I'm concerned this tarnish the reputation of the safari room. I've heard in the past that the Shirley the bar manager is going to take care of Heidi. That was three months ago. I don't think it's fair for a bartender (Heidi) to refuse service, when she doesn't like a customer, who has been a good paying and generous tipper for years. I just heard recently that Heidi had two more instances , where she was rude to customers. Safaris profits are suffering because of these outlandish incidents and they need to be corrected. There is enough negative publicity and they need to replace Heidi. read more

I am born and raised in the valley but I hadn't been to Safari Room until yesterday. It's a quaint, restaurant with a full bar. The staff is friendly and attentive with good recommendations. I shared the patty melt and some fried zucchini. It was good and I will definitely be back again. On a side note, the restaurant does close at 9PM. read more

I used to work about a mile from this place A LONG time ago. So, our office would go here for lunch and happy hours. The food is really good. The atmosphere is definitely a place you want to spend a private time at for drinks - they were also very very good! The servers were always very sincere and fast. Total dive joint. Plenty of patrons bellied up to the bar. I was a guest at a party here of around 25 people. Prefixed meal choices. We had the filet, a ribeye and chicken fettuccine. All very good. The salad was good but extremely watered down. The desserts were not good. Tasted like freezer burn. There was major plumbing issues this day and was very inconvenient. Positives are the food portions and VERY friendly service. Negatives for me is that I didn't 100% like what I ordered. My bf ordered some steak with his lobster and I ordered just the lobster. Mine was a bit rubbery. My salad was drenched in dressing, I should have asked for the dressing on the side, it was just too much dressing I didn't eat my salad. The potato, was the one that they take out the inside and mix it up and then put it back, it was a bit bland. And the side of veggies were also bland. I wished/hoped better for this because my bf kept hyping it up. But I must say, his steak he got ( I can't remember which steak it was) was REALLY GOOD. I would eat that again for sure! Okay okay okay. My first review in some time y'all. I love trying new places and new dishes so here it is... First of all the restaurant is super welcoming to me. I really enjoyed the seating area, I sat by the bar on a booth. The game was in some it was as an active cheering but I didn't mind. If you want a little more quiet and peace sit away from the bar. The drinks were great! I had a pina colada and it was delicious perfect amount of happy juice! The wings were very delicious just perfectly breaded. My steak the medium rare was perfect! I REALLY wanted to love it. It was all just.....okay. I had prime rib...just ok. Wife had the filet...just ok. (It was like the cuts of meat were not very lean/trimmed.)
