They had a beautiful pink glitter polish that I got on both my nails and toenails. I got acrylic on my nails and asked for almond and OMG the shaping was intense but they came out beautifully. The two ladies that worked on me (I forgot their names, sorry!) were very sweet and worked quickly yet effectively too. The cost of everything wasn't too bad either, I was expecting to pay $190 but was surprised when it only came out to $110! Called over the phone for prices and was told $25 for pedicure and $35 for acrylic and gel. They seemed really sweet and nice. The woman doing my nails took 90 min just to shape them and another 30 minutes to paint, I asked for square and short. After 2 hours at charge out she wrote down $80 and I was asking how she got to that number. She said $35 for nails, extra $15 for gel and extra charge for coffin. I've had coffin nails before that is not what I asked for and you can see in the picture these are 100% not coffin nails. I've been coming to Sugarcoated for years now and realized I haven't left a review yet. My friend and I come once a month for mani/pedis. We usually call in to see what time they are available and most of the time they can take us right away. Kim, Bryan and Moon are super friendly and kind. They always offer water and tea and remember little details about how I like my nails, what area is sensitive, and ask about my dog and my family. I've brought a few friends and family members here and everyone loves it. Sugarcoated is always very clean and usually very quiet. They also have wifi available for clients. I've always had an issue with ingrown nails and rough feet from walking all day. Since I've been coming here, I've no longer had an issue with ingrown toe nails and my feet have never been better. I recently had surgery for a broken foot and took a break from pedicures. When I returned after 3 months they were so nice and asked how the surgery went. Bryan was super gentle and careful not to hurt my foot since the bone was still healing. They are seriously the best kept secret in Glendora. I moved further away and I'll still make the 30-40 minute drive to come over here because other nail salons just don't compare. read more

Updating my review from 2018. This establishment is still doing an awesome job. I messed up my own nails at work and just wanted to make them presentable but not long. I got them dipped in a natural color (because of work) and they always do great spa pedicures. I added callous remover. They take their time and overjoyed to please their customers. They really take their time here, which I think pays off in the end bc two weeks later my gel mani and regular pedi has not chipped. They took me and my sis in law as a walk in. OMG!!! I just showed up for my 12:00 appointment and the man that was going to do my pedicure asked me to wait, not a big deal I was soaking my feet. The disturbing part is what happened next. He went to the mom of the girl next to me and asked her to pull out one of her hairs, her hair was too thin so he pulled a hair out of one of the other worker's head. I was a bit confused but it was soon clear what he was doing. She had some very large moles on her neck, he wrapped the hair around one mole and cut it off with a regular pair of scissors!! After the first he did another and then another!!! I literally almost barfed!! she was sitting right next to me. I jumped up and left and told them that was disgusting and should be done by a dermatologist NOT in a spa chair at a nail salon!!! I will NEVER go here again. read more

So, I'm pretty sure they had call-outs or something because only two people were working. I've worked in the service industry for over 15 years and am a licensed nail tech, so I'm VERY understanding when it comes to being short-staffed, BUT if you cannot manage taking on another client just say no. I called before going over there and asked if there was availability for a pedicure. The person on the phone said if I came right now I'd wait 10 min, that was fine with me, I was just down the street. I go and there's two people working and two clients (one finished and the other being worked on by both employees). I thought "ok cool, it's slow right now and they're finishing up." One employee tells me to pick my color and so I go to their wall of polish and this honestly should've been my sign to leave because EVERY SINGLE bottle of polish was separating. I don't know why I didn't leave, but I didn't, I picked a color and went to sit in the waiting area but the employee told me to go sit in one of the pedi bowls. I was ok with this because I assumed that they would turn the water on so I could soak... they did not. I sat in the empty pedi chair for 20 (not 10) minutes... how do I know it was 20? Because the massage chair had a timer and I had to do something to feel at least a little relaxed while I was waiting. Again, not sure why I didn't just leave, but anyway, finally the person doing my pedicure comes over and asks me to move my feet out of the bowl so they can add water. While it's filling up they remove any left over polish that I missed when taking my polish off this morning, trims my nails and cuts my hyponychium (for all the non-nail techs, that's the skin under the free edge of the nail), files them with a used file. Again, I'm a licensed nail tech, I know a used file from a fresh one. After they finish filling the tub they tell me to put my feet in... the water is COLD, not even lukewarm, cold. And you're probably thinking why didn't you ask them to add warm water; well I would've but the tub was pretty full and I wasn't going to ask them to empty it to fill again. My feet are in the water for MAYBE 45 seconds before they have me pull them out again and use a metal tool to scrape away cuticle tissues, mind you no cuticle softener was even used. Then they use the nippers to go around the cuticle and cut me AGAIN! With BARE ungloved hands that were just touching my feet the employee opens a jar of scrub and scoops some out with the fingers, wipes it on my leg and then repeats on the other leg, caps the jar and quickly rubs scrub into my feet and put them back in the water... washes their hands off in the tub then washes the scrub off my feet. Then while my feet are still in the water rips the liner open exposing me to who knows what kinda germs are in the tub because something tells me they may not properly clean those tubs. I pull my feet out and they dry my feet with their hand towel and paint my toes. They squirt a little lotion on my shins and rub that in really quickly and then thank me and move on to another client because now there's 4 people waiting on 2 techs. I had to wait for my polish to dry another 10 or so minutes and then I pay and leave. The person that did my toes was nice enough which is why I'm giving 2 stars, but the pedicure was absolutely the WORST pedicure I've had and I wish that was an exaggeration. read more

Found this quiet nail shop on route 66, they are a small location and very welcoming. Everyone was nice and friendly. Prices are decent and they did a good job for what I was asking for. They were accommodable and offered coffee and water. They are also open on Sunday which is a perk for me. Once I came back for my appointment I was told that time wasn't available and they can't help me and the owner questioned who booked the appointment when she was helping the lady book the appointment for me. It really does pain me to write this review because the owner really is so nice and this salon has such potential. It's cute and everyone speaks English so it's nice to be able to communicate with them. I had gone here for the first time back in August 2016. I got the SNS dip and wasn't too impressed. There was little attention to detail, there was things that other salons do that this one did not. My nails weren't really cleaned up before the dip. On Facebook recently the owner read a comment where I said that I didn't really have a great experience here. She reached out to me and apologized and offered a free service for me and a guest. I was floored-I thought that was excellent customer service. I brought my mom with me this past weekend after changing my appointments a couple times (the owner was very patient with me). My mom got a mani/pedi and I got a gel manicure. This experience was better but stull not great for me. My girl pushed my cuticles back dry....this was a first for me and it hurt. There wasn't much clean up around my nail bed like I'm used to either. The color of the gel didn't have consistent coverage either. My girl was very nice though. My mom though....when we left and got in the car, she said she noticed a nail kind of globby with nail polish and the polish was just uneven. Then we noticed it was all of them. By this point, we were in the car leaving and they were 35 minutes late taking us for our appointments and we had to be somewhere. If we had paid for the services, we would not have been happy. I really appreciate the owner reaching out and doing what she did. There's not enough good customer service anymore like that. I just really don't know what the deal is here. Let me start by saying that I do not enjoy leaving negative reviews. The salon was clean, the staff were friendly, my nail stylist worked extremely hard (yes, I tipped well), and they took me as a walk-in with very little wait time. That being said, if you work hard for your money and rarely get to pamper yourself, I would not recommend going for dip powder with tips. It took over 2 hours to complete my service, and they ended up being thick and lumpy despite my bringing it to her attention several times. Instead of dipping just the tip into the glitter she dipped my entire pinky, so now I just have 2 pinky nails covered in glitter and the rest not. I asked for a flesh color nail with black tips: I received a color similar to a peach crayon with half the nail being black. I'm super disappointed. *Edit: Days later and my finger is scabbing over where I kept getting hit with the Dremel. Ouch! read more

Super friendly and efficient staff. I booked using their online system, which was convenient but still needing to have some kinks worked out. I had requested to have Meg, but when I arrived I was told she wasn't available, which seemed odd since she was made to seem available on the online booking. I found out later that it's because she's working on moving up at the adjoining hair salon. No worries. Since Meg was not available I was booked with Angelique for an SNS manicure (if you haven't had one, you need one...seriously). I've had SNS before, im just glad I was able to find another local salon that doea them. Anyway couldn't have been happier with her service. Bri was also available to do a last minute pedicure for me! Yay! Only reason didn't give 5 stars is because they still seemed a little discombobulated after converting to online scheduling. Nothing terrible, just not quite there yet. I did find out that they JUST converted their scheduling system, so I'm sure I'll be able to give a 5 star review the next time I'm there.
