A couple weeks ago I came in to get a fill, it was my first time. A heavier set male came out agressively annoyed as if he was already in a bad mood and sat down in front of me. Not only dod he grab my hand aggressively he turned the mode up so high on the nail filer and legit was hurting my nails from the vibration. I told him he was being very aggressive and he stared and me rolled his eyes and shrugged his shoulders lol I asked him if he was having a bad day I could go elsewhere and he just stared at me lol I got up respectfully and left. Don't try Gatsby Nails ever ! You may got severe infections first they don't use sealed tools for your cuticles , second the nail technician did horrible job! This is my nails after I finished X gel immediately, you can see from the pictures that it's horrible experience and it's very unprofessional.when I asked her why it's like that she said it's ok it's just because it's not too long and we can remove it and do it next refill !!! Seriously I returned after two hours and I asked to remove it, after my friend ( specialist) told me this could cause bad infection from gap between nails which will hold water & dust & germs too and i also asked for refund. I've been going to Gatsby Nails since middle school and now I'm in my twenties. So I have been coming here for some time now. I usually have Helen work on my mani and pedis because she's truly a great nail tech. But Sundays she's off and I was only able to make it to last Sunday which was yesterday. So Karen helped me with my pedicure. I've never had her do any of my services before but with the times I've gone to Gatsby I've had nothing but good experiences. So Karen started on my pedicure and unfortunately didn't do a good job. Karen missed a bunch of the services for a pedi. She only scrubbed one foot, didn't put any lotion on my legs or feet, I believe she didn't cut the cuticles, etc. She was almost falling asleep on my feet, and I got very concerned for her because she is an older woman and I didn't know if it was because of her health. When I asked her if she was okay she got kind of upset with me and stated she was fine. I let it go and she continued. When she continued she thought she was painting my toe nails but was actually painting the paper towel in between to separate my toes. She was I guess upset that I asked her if she was okay earlier during the service and so every five minutes she was asking me if I was okay but in a smart remark tone. I left with paying the service still but left no tip. I called the salon a couple minutes later to ask if they can redo my pedicure and they said yes of course for $30, and I reminded them of the experience that I had and they said because they're redoing the service it'll cost $30. So because of this experience i won't be coming here again. If you ever decide on coming here ask for Helen. I have learned my lesson. read more

I live down the street, and have been going here on n off for years/ but not on a regular basis. But the last 3 times this place showed preferential treatment, i.e. if you're not a "regular" you get pushed to the side. This has been mine (& my moms) experience the last few times we've gone in. I made an appointment with an experienced nail tech there, explained "this is my manicure for my WEDDING" so you'd think they'd think its important. But when I came in that same tech I made the apt with & reiterated this was for my wedding to, told me "ooh, this person will do your nails instead". I just wanted a gel French tip on my natural nails, and this tech had no idea what she was doing (she was nice but new). I'm not picky, but she just could not do a white line. An experienced tech then took over bc all the lines were so lopsided. All my nails cracked a week later. I went to another salon to have it all redone. Same thing happened to my mom when she went in last week for a pedi. The tech doing her pedi took so long, that the tech next to her did 3 pedis by the time she was done. I had the opportunity to visit Gatsby Nails again recently. They were able to see me at the time of my appointment and I got the simple gel manicure I wanted the last time I visited. Staff was courteous and friendly. I really appreciated that my nail technician asked about the color I had selected because she was able to suggest the perfect dark blue I was after. UPDATE: 2 months of this awful infection and having trouble walking and going to doctors. I had to go on antibiotics. They didn't work. I had to then go to a podiatrist and get a procedure done that included 4 needles in my toe so they could do the procedure. Y'all this is wild. I've never had anything like this happen before. Be careful where you go, how much of your nail they're cutting and how clean it is. The podiatrist confirmed this was absolutely from the nail salon not being clean and them cutting too much of my nail. Again, don't want to be mean but wtf this is insane. read more

I've been going to Gatsby Nails ever since! These folks are GOOD. Like, VERY good. They always give me exactly what I want & they're perfect every time! The girl I sometimes get (whose name I can't remember right now - haven't had my coffee yet) will get creative with me. I always give her carte blanche to decorate my nails any way she'd like. I walked out today with 2 lovely peacock feathers, tulips, & a cool mandala-looking pattern - all hand-painted & completely spontaneous! You can't see the feathers very well in the picture (one on the ring finger & another on the thumb of my right hand), but they're lovely! I highly, highly recommend them! PS: There's an ice cream parlor next door, so you can pamper yourself & indulge in a sundae in the same trip! PPS: They also work on men. Where do I begin? I hate to have to take the time to write this review for a place I have been to many times for a long time. I have a very busy schedule so I occasionally get my nails done when needed. My birthday is around the corner so I called to make an appointment a little over a week in advance for a dip mani and gel pedi. The service and quality at this salon have severely declined over time and this salon has absolutely no value for its customers. I will start by sharing that I asked for a dip mani with a narrow round shape. What I got: very thick dip and the opposite of what I asked for. Not only that, the nail tech used a clear dip instead of only my chosen color, so the color came out incredibly diluted and tacky. She put 4 layers of thick dip powder on each nail, which 2 of the layers were colorless clear dip powder. When I asked her to file it down and make it even, she disrespectfully responded that she couldn't because my natural nail is uneven.. (like there's no way the 4 fat layers of powder could have possibly created such a thick uneven job..) not only that, but the nail lady was beyond rude, the most unprofessional, argumentative and inadequate individual I have ever encountered. It genuinely makes me question her license considering the immensely horrific nail work she did. When I brought this nightmare experience to the owner/manager's attention, she casually said "oh sorry" with the least amount concern. What I have shared isn't even half of the experience, it's just a fraction example of how horrible the nail work, service and individuals are at this place. At the end of the day, management has enabled unprofessional behaviors and below satisfactory work and the only thing I can think of maybe they're burnt out and in need of a lot of time off or plain out retirement. I have an incredibly strong influence within my community and individuals reach out to me for numerous recommendations on many things; I will be sure to stay very far away from this place and I'll guarantee that I'll be sharing the same with others. Lastly, the AC was off- it was 100 degrees outside and they had the door open. Try having a pedi in warm water while sweating. If that's not enough to deter you then good luck. Been coming here for years. It's so cute and they're always so kind and helpful. They never steer me wrong. I got this set with Coco for New Year's Eve. I come in open minded because they always have fun ideas for my nails. I planned to do a black French tip on stiletto gel x nails, but Coco and another tech recommended cat eye for the length. The nail techs kept gathering around while she was doing my nails and they were all so excited about how beautiful they came out! And it was a great experience for me with Sam. 1 star- I called and made my appointment Saturday for Sunday so that was sooner than I expected. I was honestly thinking maybe a couple days cause of covid. 1 star- They are working outside right now and with everyone there they do a good job at spacing everyone out to keep up with social distancing. What a treat this place is. I have tried A LOT of nail places and this is by far at the top of my list. The way customers love the staff and the care that the staff gives the customers is top notch. I've gone twice now and the second time, I completely botched my nails two seconds after leaving. The team was super nice about fixing them and working with me to make sure I was good to go. Last Friday was my first time at Gatsby Nails. This nail salon is in a great location (Downtown Glendora). However, I'm a little disappointed in my visit. As soon as I was offered a seat I had two women start on my mani/pedi. Right away I was given the gel nail colors to pick from. While I was sitting there watching more people enter I noticed that other customers had been shown a menu to pick from. I was pretty sad that I was never offered a menu as I do like to add massages, paraffin, and scented scrubs when available. On top of that, the young lady who did my toes didn't even paint the whole nail. It felt like she rushed through the process. Even when she put lotion on my feet/legs she probably took three seconds to semi rub it in. They had a large pillow placed on my lap and I couldn't see my feet until I was ready to leave. Had I noticed I would of asked her to fix it. My toes look like the polish was already growing out for a week. Anyway... I would like to give kudos to the little lady who did my French Tip manicure. She was constantly checking on me and asking if I liked how my nails were coming out. I greatly appreciate how attentive she was. She took her time and my finger nails look great! I told her I had a bad experience of paying so much money and not having my nails the shape and length I wanted. I showed her a picture of the shape and length I wanted and she was attentive to what I asked for. Throughout my appointment she continuously asked if I liked the shape, length and even the color.
