My friend wanted to check this place out for dinner and I heard great things so I was excited to try it out. The menu was simple and easy to read and understand what everything was. I ordered one of the handroll sets and a few appetizers and I feel like everything was priced very well for what you get. The place was well lit and clean and I love how often the wait staff came around to refill drinks and water. The manager, Sharon was a delight. She was very engaging to our group and she also went and made her rounds to everyone else to make sure everyone was having a great time. 5 out of 5 for food, service, ambiance, and cleanliness. Upon entry, the greeting was a tad off putting. After chatting with the host a bit more and encouraging a more positive interaction out of him, it was fine. Once seated, our server came around and was very welcoming and helpful. The food artists were friendly and talented. We ordered several items and came to the conclusion that the favorite has got to be the Snow Crab roll with avocado and masago. Seating is a tight fit, however, allows you to view the creation of your food so... totally worth it! Tried to do a walk-in for a table of 1 at night and was not able to join a waitlist or get a seat. The ambiance is very different from a sushi bar restaurant. Seemed like techno music was being played and was very dim lighting. Decided to return another day for lunch since the reviews looked fantastic. There was 1 other party during lunch. Out of all the seating available I was seated on the edge where the chef enters the kitchen area. I thought it was very strange. Not a comfortable seating because the corner of the table is cut off. Anyways, about the food... started off great then went downhill. Ordered the 5 hand roll set. The spicy tuna and avocado truffle were delicious. King salmon, bay scallop, and snow crab were quite generic. Nothing special about the flavors. You can definitely get better elsewhere. The norichos were covered in a mountain of cheese shavings. If you really love cheese then you'd like it. Wished it had tuna or salmon topped on it. Not worth the $9 for cheese and wonton crisps. I'd recommend to order rolls individually rather than doing to set. Also a 20% gratuity is automatically added. I have been wanting to try this place since it has opened and I finally got the opportunity. I must say I had really high hopes for this place as it was my first hand roll only experience. I came in wanting to order the omakase but it was unavailable. We ended up getting the daily special for the appetizer which was a crispy shrimp with yuzu sauce that was delicious! My bf ordered the 4 hand roll set, the surf and turf roll, and a strawberry melona poptail. I was a bit disappointed that the truffle avocado roll was unavailable and they didn't substitute it for something else that was. I ordered the 5 hand roll set, two bluefin otoro and a mango melona poptail. The king salmon and the spicy tuna was delicious. But everything else was okay. The bluefin otoro was extremely salty with whatever seasoning they put on, which was highly disappointing considering that is usually my favorite cut of fish. The drinks were light and refreshing didn't taste like there was any alcohol. But I was really shocked to see our bill was almost $200. Granted I did not ask what the market price was but I was not expecting the bill to be that expensive for what we received. It was a cool experience but I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

I think this might be my new go to spot! Vibes are 10/10, it's not too loud at all and the seating is intimate but still gives you plenty of room for you and whoever you go with. The food is heavenly -- highly recommend the Torched Eel handroll and the Spicy Tuna. The staff was sooooo friendly and wonderful, I'm obsessed with Johnny -- give this man a raise. We had the most amazing signature Sugo spicy tuna roll, fresh hamachi, incredible toro, and by far the best uni I've ever had. But just as amazing, our friends that we've made over the years. Even though there were only eight customers, service was indifferent and slow. Rolls were skimpy and thrown together with no finesse, no balance of ingredients. The truffled avocado roll was just a mashed blob, tasting like yesterdays guacamole. The miso shrimp shooter came cold and greasy. The edamame appetizer arrived last and when we wanted to order a couple more rolls, the "chef" was too busy spraying butane fluid all over a beautiful piece of fish to notice our order. Go for the hand roll sets (4 or 5) and add from there- top faves: Toro, California, Spicy California, Waygu n Uni, Shrimp, Scallop and King Salmon. Everything is delish if ur a true sushi/nigiri fan. There are some vegan options (avocado truffle was delish). A ton of cocktails and some miso shots n apps to start. The Lychee Martini and Passionfruit cocktails are both fun. Lines can be long so call ahead to add ur name to the waitlist. My second time dining and it was just as spectacular as my first Sugo meal. Five star experience at a five star price ($500 for 3 ppl) Worth it! Says my 12 year old who ordered multiple waygu n toro! Yikes but Yummy and definitely a place I'd dine again. Had a really nice meal after seeing this place on TikTok. We each had 4 rolls and 2 cocktails in addition to the tuna dip appetizer it was all delicious. They were short staffed so there was very little interaction with the chef but I would hope that's not typical. The best hand roll by far was the spicy scallop- not what I was expecting in a great way! If you're into dessert cocktails I'd also highly recommend the drink with the fruit popsicle as you wrap up your meal. It is pretty pricey considering the portions unfortunately but good for a special occasion. Make sure you make a reservation in advance. -1 for price + ambiance because the music was very loud and the playlist was... not terrible but not what I'd prefer to hear while trying to chat with someone over food. read more

Went here for their soft opening and very disappointed. 1) they're more like mini sushi rolls instead of "hand rolls" with the rice "pushed" and spread on the nori by their hands and add the toppings (which spill out the other end) 2) 3 layers of nori for a handroll??? So chewy and excessive 3) miso soup was literally a quart (who needs that much miso soup for a meal?) 4) fish quality was ok, chefs made it sound like Atlantic salmon was fancy which made us chuckle. 5) manager who checked proof of vax was super rude. Scrutinized partners international vax card and checked ID and all, which is fine but barely looked at mine which threw us both off, wish she treated everyone the same and with respect. 6) server was rude until it was time to pay. Zero explanation in the menu setup and how to order. When we put our order together, she gave us a rude explanation after the fact that we should have used the menu to mark what we wanted individually and sounded like we were doing everything wrong. Most people may have better experiences than this, as others did seem like they were enjoying their time, however we won't be back ever. read more

Have been wanting to try this place for a while. It has certainly been storming local Seattle internet. We arrived around lunch on a Sunday and didn't have a wait at all so that was nice. Service here was great, everyone is pretty attentive and friendly. Rightfully so because gratuity is already added. Reminds me a Kazunori with the novelty of sitting around the center with chefs assembling your rolls for you. I would say it is a pretty hit or miss with some of these rolls. My favorite was the Spicy Tuna handroll. The pickled radish and pieces of tempura were soo delicious. I also enjoyed the Uni + Caviar handrolls and Salmon Sashimi appetizer. The more OK ones were the Wagyu Uni and Hawaiian (poke-esque) handrolls. The ones I liked I absolutely loved, but the ones I didn't love so much makes it less of a special experience. I am not sure I would return because the parking and general pedestrian traffic in the area is such a pain. Overall, not bad but not the best. read more

We were promptly seated at the bar and ordered a few items. I love a good hand roll, so it was interesting to see a restaurant concept built on that specific method of creating sushi. My husband and I each ordered a handroll set. I went with the salmon, bay scallop, and snow crab 3 piece set and my husband ordered the toro, truffle avocado, salmon, and snow crab handroll set. We both ordered sake. Unfortunately, even though we inquired about our hot sake several times, we didn't receive it until after we had finished all of our food. It was a soft opening, so we expected a few bumps, as is typically the case. The food was fresh, if not innovative. The service was friendly, if not not prepared to manage the group. Rice was hot and the fish was frozen and minced. The tuna and salmon rolls were tasteless. It is definitely not worth the price. They are just trying to recover their exorbitant lease amount by up charging the customers.
