I was never a big fan of yoga, but hot yoga sounded intriguing enough. You are first greeted by the cafe, and then the studio, located downstairs. Towels and mats were available to rent upstairs at $2. I initially came early, but because of the abundance of students booked for the class, I spent time searching for a free locker. The women's locker room ended up being full and I didn't realize there were additional lockers outside until class started. On a weekend, the room looked like it was already at max capacity. My friends and I had to squeeze in on the side. Crowdedness aside, our instructor was fantastic in leading us through a series of exercises. I attended the Sui Sun Moon class style, which incorporated the energies of Yin and Yang. Indeed, I saw that from the way our class initially started slow in an infrared light setting taught in a melodic instructional voice, but then sharply transitioned to full on screaming in the darkness. There were some yoga terms the instructor says throughout, but luckily, I was able to imitate the people around me. Aside from one advanced move, the exercises were pretty easy to follow along. For 94 degrees, the Earth studio didn't feel unbearably hot thanks to how spacious it was. There was luckily also fan ventilation. But I didn't realize how much of a sweat I would be working up. If you sweat easily, be ready to catch those rainy drips! The class felt long because of the sweat, but by the end, I left with not only a healthier body but an eased mind thanks to the meditations. Come during off hours, and you'd experience a unique productive yoga class with beautiful clean aesthetics! And yes, you can get sore from yoga.

Very nice facility, I have taken a few classes here. Instructors have been knowledgeable for sure. Everything I have taken seems a little more advanced than your regular yoga as the instructors walked around and gave instructions for moving through the flows more than they stopped to demo. So you get more personal form feedback which is nice!

Never tried hot yoga until I went to Sui Yoga! To be honest, I was a tad bit nervous since I sweat even during normal yoga, so I was worried I might pass out. Studio: Super cute storefront with the cafe on the top floor. There is a great greenery wall and little tables and seats for lounging. They have a small selection of yoga clothing towards the back that is for sale. The actual yoga studios are located downstairs. There is a shoe rack on the wall as soon as you get to the lower level, and the locker rooms are located straight ahead. You can store your belongings in the lockers (able to program your own code in). There are also showers and bathrooms in the locker room as well. They have nice lighting in the locker room, and there is a hair dryer and other little things like cotton tips available for you to revitalize yourself after sweating your butt off. You can pay a small fee to use their yoga mat and towels or bring your own. The actual studio is quite spacious and beautifully built with mirrors on one side. There is also an amazing Himalayan salt wall in the studio adding to the ambiance. Yoga Classes: They offer different types of hot yoga classes. I have been to two different yoga classes with Luna, which were fantastic! Sui Deep consists of long deep stretches (2-5 minute holds) vs. Sui Sun Moon has vinyasa flow for the first half with deep stretches in the second half. Overall: Now that I have gotten over my fear of hot yoga, I will be back!

During our whirlwind of a weekend visiting NYC, my husband and I woke up on a Saturday morning and…read moredecided we could both use a little bit of yoga to start our day... We searched Yelp for a nearby studio with a class that was appealing and we found that this new Midtown East CPY studio had a Core Power Yoga 2 class that morning... we weren't sure we'd make it, and we walked in just a few minutes before the class started, but the ladies at the front desk worked with us to get us registered and into the class and we were so appreciative. Kelsea W was our teacher and she was fabulous... she had some unique sequences that allowed my mind to focus on the present moment and just move / enjoy the class. Needless to say, it was exactly what I needed! The studio itself is spacious, offers lockers, bathrooms, water refills, a bit of a retail store, mats, towels, and more... So yes, CPY is a chain, but it's consistent and if you find the right teacher / class, you'll get just what you need in that moment. Thanks again, Kelsea!

We've had the chance to take classes both in the mornings and evenings, and have likely practiced with most of their instructors at least once. The class schedule is great, and with our membership, booking spots for the high-demand classes isn't a hassle. We've had no trouble getting off the waitlist for early morning sessions either. All of the instructors have been friendly and excellent to work with, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Even when classes are full, the space doesn't feel too cramped, which makes for a comfortable and enjoyable experience. We highly recommend this location!

They weren't upfront about my package details at all--I signed up for what I thought was a one-month commitment, only to find out they locked me into two months and then charged me a random fee just to cancel. On top of that, when I literally spilled my water on the floor and asked for a towel to clean it up, they told me they would have to charge me for it. It is incredibly petty and transactional. To top it off, when I brought up a concern, the owner/manager sent a highly defensive email. Take your money to a studio that actually values its members.

In addition, they also have hot Pilates. That kicks your butt, but it feels amazing afterwards. Staff is great, they are very welcoming and supportive of everyone's journey in there well-being. The owner remembers everyone's names and has a very positive energy. The only downside is that they sell water bottles instead of offering a water cooler for water. Granted that New York tap water is very drinkable, I didn't really like that they offered water for sale, especially since it was in 16 oz plastic bottles. However, they sold coconut water which a lot of people purchased.
